This poast is about when you're just skateboarding at a skatepark and you give some dude props but the dude is wearing a helmet and you didn't realize it til he brings it up like "thank g_d im wearing a helmet" and you go "yeah man" and before you skate away he gets mad for some reason and is all "-because i don't want to end up brain dead. If Tony Hawk wears a helmet why can't I?" and then you go,
"yeah that makes sen-"
and he goes "I don't care if people judge me, skateboarding isn't about looking a certain way. show me the skateboarding rule book huh?"
And it keeps going til you pretend you see a friend even though you don't have any just to get away.

Should’ve changed Activision to Pastavision 8)

Imagine if all your favorite pros were forced to wear helmets to enter skate competitions. It’d be so weird seeing the Primitive, Real and Anti-Hero teams strap up before their contest runs.
This is exactly the kind of thing that would happen in the early nineties

I'm interpreting your new avatar to be saying in sign language: "I jerked it off and, to my dismay, the semen sprayed everywhere. Whattya gonna do?"

This is the same guy who started a topic about wanting to eat a dook straight out of Mamaskate's pooper
yeah but after the 1400 dollar Big Mamas debacle i'm having second thoughts.

I don't skate anymore, but i love going to the local and lecturing everyone on why they should wear a helmet. And if someone is wearing a helmet I lecture them on why they need knee/elbow pads and wristguards. If they're wearing the full kit I lecture them on why skating is too dangerous and they shouldn't do it at all. Just spreadin the good word!

in case anyone is not clear on this
the idea behind "no helmet" is there is a draw to something where the stuntman has the chance to get hurt
skateboarding marketing is all about selling you an entire lifestyle and that is part of that 'no rules' attitude they are trying to push onto you
i have said this many times andy anderson/powell has taken that and kind of flipped it in a "viral" way i would even say in the fact that he has taken something that the industry has clowned since its beginning and actually used it to seperate himself. there is a huge demographic of these bowl barneys or w/e that really relate to andy because they have likely been clowned for the same thing and now almost have a jesus like figure to point you to as a defense mechanism.
either way you look at it, they have got you by the balls. if you dont wear a helmet and you are doing risky stuff you are kind of buying into that lifestyle they are trying to push onto you. but then if you do wear a helmet, you are lumped into that bowl troll / freestyler "kook" category most of the time. it is really hard to find a middle ground. on one hand i dont really feel like anything i try these days is that risky aside from the small bit of tranny i try (which i do wear a helmet for) and i feel like at what point do you start wearing a helmet just walking down the street etc. on the other though i do feel like there is chance to die on the odd thing i try and its definintely for no money etc kind of thing.

I wear a helmet so I can bash people in the face and shatter their fucking nose when they don't clap for my flat ground front shuv.
-
for the record i don't care if people do or don't wear helmets while skateboarding its just very weird self justification preachiness and people bringing more attention to it even if no one cares. Youtube amplified this by suggesting this video of some dude with a tucked in t shirt wearing attention grabbing helmets to prove some kind of point. i skipped around so idk if he proved it or not.

Sounds like poast beef.

like you inventing that OP is mad

I Googled the word Poast, and it turns out it's a slang term for when someone creates a post on social media that is clearly a deliberate attempt to boast. Like, if @slappies were to post footage of his flatground front shuv. It's actually kinda clever. In this case, I don't see how Marvin could possibly think he's boasting by complaining about an imaginary conversation he had with a 14-year old Pro-Tec enthusiast, but you never know.

I don't know that posting that would be a boast for me so much as setting myself up for roast for everyone else.

i had a brain haemorrhage when i was like 12 bombing a hill without a helmet. after that, my dad said if he caught me skating without a helmet he'd make me saw my board in half and burn it.
it's been many years since then, and i do go without one often. however, any time i'm skating a handrail, large(ish) gap, or hubba, i'll put one on. it's kind of sentimental if anything, but brain damage also fucking sucks. moreso i just want to skate for as long as i can, and if i'm a vegetable i won't be able to.
that being said, fuck guys who wear a helmet and are kooks about it.
