Those leggings are full fucking legal game.
Much rather watch him skate el toro in that and the sleeveless longline hoody than see another fucker with oversized but short dickies and obvious socks do whatever hot trick.

Cody Mac in tight jeans and toothpick
I once helped out at the Sheckler foundation event and I saw Cody Mac roll up in his car wearing aviators and a wife beater with a toothpick in his motuh. I sort of knew of him at the time but didn't know at all what he looked like and seeing his kit, i figured he looked like the type of bro that would come to the event strictly to raid the Grizzly booth and the Diamond booth, so i told him that the parking lot that he was in was athlete-parking only, but that he could park on the main street for general parking like everybody else. About half an hour later I saw him inside of the demo do one switch flip on flat, push, and then switch flip down an 11 stair first try and then realized who he was when the announcer announced his name/trick and felt pretty dumb.
TLDR: I thought Cody Mac was some random bro and blew him off

I met cody mac at Tampa pro 2011, post fedora pre toothpick. He was actually super nice, we were skating the little park thing together and he came up and was like hey I'm Cody and complimented some bullshit I did. No other dudes, especially older pros were as nice. Feel bad for him, if he dressed like a normal skater and not a jock bro I think his career might ha e gone better.
Chris Haslam. Also really nice but you really gonna trust a dude in skinny jeans with a man bun to start a successful company?

On a similar note, I met Greg Lutzka randomly and expected him to be a pretentious douche. After helping him out at the shop I was working at during that time, I personally felt like the biggest douche for judging him when he ended up being one of the most kind, friendly and genuinely appreciative people I've ever helped out.

I was at a spot where Lutzka was filming with Hoops and trying to think of a trick to do down a 9 at the end of the line. Hoops suggested a fs 360, and in a loud, snarky voice so everyone around could hear him said, "I frontside 360ed noseblunted a 10 stair rail. Why would I frontside 360 a 9?"
It made me laugh at the time because it was the kind of thing you'd make up that someone like Lutzka would say, and it happened in real life. But I've heard he's friendly as well, so not trying to knock your story sus.

That's actually pretty funny. But then again i've come across skaters that are super cool people but then suck ass to skate with, and people that are sick to skate with but are the worst dudes in all other aspects of life, so I wouldn't be shocked to hear that.

Anybody wearing sweatpants. I know it’s totally acceptable these days, but that shit was way too jock when I was coming up. It bums me out to see rad footage of a dude in sweatpants. It’s like wearing them to work or out with your chick or something.
But I’m old so I don’t know what’s cool.
-
I feel Haslam would be way less gross to watch if he just sized up his pants and shirts and cut his hair. Watching that outfit get tech just seems wrong.

Boulala had the best kits in the game.
Also: Dobstaff was exceptionally good but I don't think those tank tops helped his career any.

Both those dudes dress fine. Do you just hate cargo pants? Maybe toms beanie gets annoying but if you’ve ever had long hair it’s kind of necessary to have something holding it out of your eyes to skate.

cody mac is the most consistent skater i've ever seen in person. i watched him do nollie flip crook nollie flip out at cherry park for a half hour straight. he probably landed 25 in a row, and every single one was bolts. he then went to the bump to hydrant and did like 35 textbook frontside flips.
it made me feel really bad about the trick i was trying

I find it hilarious that Cody Mac is on this list cause every clip i see of him he's never wearing a shirt. No kit = bad kit. I once watched a park edit of him and was shocked he wore shirt the entire session, so shocked i made some shitty comment like "the most impressive trick in that edit was him being able to keep his shirt on the whole time". Cody Mac liked my comment and I was hyped.

This is the now, and skateboarding and video are forever intertwined, making skateboarding as much an aesthetic endeavor as anything else. You can't have a million threads on people's skate style (a subjective aesthetic quality) without considering the big picture - that there is also the possibility that they skate well, but the overall aesthetic is ruined by them dressing in an unpleasing manner. It's part of it. As a topic it's less homo-erotic than some, more than others.
You are free to focus your account and skate by yourself on a small concrete pad in the middle of nowhere at any point.
Right, almost forgot, the other thing we mostly do here is make a joke and then find ourselves on the receiving end of pedantic ramblings about the meaning of style.

Ah no it's my bad man, didn't mean to be such a hipster. That part in borat is hilarious - a guy in skimpy swimsuit? HAHA comedy gold. and you're regurgitation of it only amplified the already existing humor in it. You're absolute crackup, keep it going.
