I am not sure if that is the right place to ask. Anyone heard of MOB Skateboards? Kinda big German brand but I can't find any info about the woodshop and I asked several times. Cheers pals

And no, not affiliated with MOB griptape.

I saw an interesting thing with regard to Deathwish boards in the latest drop - some different sizes and dimensions listed compared to their usual sizes and dimensions.

https://www.deathwishskateboards.com/pages/fall-2021

There are some longer and shorter boards in 8.125, 8.25 and 8.5 just to name a few, eg

8.25 x 31.5
8.25 x 32 (14.35 wb)
8.25 x 31.75 twin tail (Neen)

I also noticed on the Uprise post, the sizes and also the BBS hologram stickers which are over the back bolts on top as per the last frame.

 Very helpful, thanks!

Never heard of them before, but on looking them up, they seem like they have it going on.

Nice when brands have the board sizes listed on their posts.

Not sure if you want to hit them up and ask them what wood they use now (older post PS Stix), or any other info you can add to help with them...

EDIT:  This older post says they are on PS Stix

they have some boards from PS Stix and from a chinese woodshop if i remember correctly (considering they were advertising the PS Stix series like "not the usual origin")

most of the time the "epoxy / single press" narrative is chinese, right ?

Think they are based out of Malaysia, or maybe the sales office is in Malaysia but they press in China. Seen some South East Asian brands use them before.

Yes totally.

Even one of the very old posts had Dwindle Impact boards (from 2013) so it hardly counts nowdays, but most likely current stock is from one of those other "unknown" places, but they have been around for a long, long time - over 20 years I think I recall reading.

Interesting, I know DSM OEMs for a lot of smaller brands but this this the first time I've seen them do Impact Light on smaller brands.

That whole 8ply thing. I’ve seen 8 ply in other overseas brands. My working theory is that since they cost more the 8 ply makes them last longer. Not from breakage but just like razor tail.

I guess being from 2013, they might have changed it up or refined it a whole lot too.

We used to have so many of those come through back in the day, many of which snapped in the middle (think focus or similar landings) which the other carbon added technologies like P2 boards half stopped, but it has been a while since seeing any of those around normally. I know there are some out there from the last or second last Dwindle offering.

I also wonder if they weren't already getting a "similar product" from an unknown woodshop (maybe Excel) that replicated the same technology, as someone tagged Dwindle in that post from Mob, almost as if it was not a Dwindle endorsed product, but looked like it.

That would explain why they had it and no other smaller brands, from the use of that technology happening in multiple places, which might have received a Cease and Desist order from DSM.

Most of the regular popsicles are fairly tapered (normal) shape, same as the normal BBS / DLX shapes, from what I have seen, not the Full or stubby squared off shapes.

This one has a good top pic from Basement and that board is in stock in most Aussie shops, although OCD has weird dimensions on it, they all seem to be about this:

https://www.basementskate.com.au/darkroom-skateboard-deck-carnage-8.375/

DARKROOM - CARNAGE SKATEBOARD DECK. 8.375"

Deck width: 8.375"
Deck length: 32.125"
Wheel base: 14.375"
Tail: 6.5875"
Nose: 7.0"

OCD and Boarders both have them on sale for the next week too:

https://www.ocdskateshop.com.au/products/darkroom-carnage-8-375-skateboard-deck

https://www.boardersonline.com.au/darkroom-carnage-8.375-skateboard-deck

Found a better close up, which is funny cause it looks a little more stubby and square in this pic than in others:

Anyone know the difference between WKND 8.25 and 8.25VA

Also, are they both full shapes GX1000 like?

I haven't seen any in person and what is online (including what is on the WKND website) is confusing at best - both the 8.25 and 8.25 VA appear to be fairly wide and stubby looking / full shapes, but dimensions vary on different sites, ranging from 32.125 long, down to 31.75 or less, but with similar other dimensions, which doesn't add up.

There is also the 8.25 CT shape which is significantly shorter too, which could be confusing things - 8.25 x 31.625 with 14 wb, 6.875 nose and 6.625 tail.

From the WKND shop, their own site has pics of the boards and a chart with info on it, the VA shape showing a touch longer at 32.125 compared to the normal 8.25 at 32 even, but the other dimensions are the same 14.25 wb, 7 nose and 6.75 tail (which doesn't add up), but from looking around at a number of places, many of which have all manner of dimensions and quite different from the size chart, I have come to this conclusion:

Normal 8.25 (more stubby shape)

https://shop.wkndbrand.com/collections/wknd-decks/products/pachamama-christian-maalouf-8-125-8-25

8.25 VA shape (less stubby shape)

https://shop.wkndbrand.com/products/overseer-8-0-8-25va-8-5

I am happy to be corrected if anyone has actually compared them, or has more info so please share.

* Open the size chart in a new window / save it as it is hi res and will show all dimensions easily.

...SO...What y'all think of whatever board ur riding?
Lets start giving feedback so woodshop means something, yah?(whatever ya feel)
I'll go first;
Enjoi(Dwindle) 8.375" Resin-7:
I actually think this resin thing is not a gimmick and makes board stronger.
After a month of every other day park sessions(1.5 to 3 hrs) board still stiff n poppy; down to 3rd layer in tail.
Tuff too, hit some corners with tail n nose and no chips, just dings.
Overall stoked.

It might seem completely too deep, but I was thinking about an earlier conversation in this thread regarding the overall length and other dimensions that didn't add up.

From checking wheelbase, length of nose / tail and overall length, why hadn't someone listed here the number that relates to the measurement of the trucks in a deck.

Each truck from center holes is about 53mm, so 106mm in total, which equates to about 4.175 " so now when measuring decks, you can use that to add or subtract to get the length or other missing figures.

Eg  Wheelbase 14.25, nose 7, tail 6.625 (then +4.175 trucks) = 32.05" which seems about right for this board in front of me right now.

There would still be the slight differences between individual boards from some brands, or the difference between laying the tape measure flat on the concave, vs keeping it tight across for the overall length, but this could definitely help work out some of those measurements.

The funny thing is when I apply that method to this chart from Real, the truck measurements vary a bit, 4.13 on one and 4.27 on another, so I guess it is relative and not absolute.

* I will have to go and measure my Real boards like this now and see.

Nose and tail shapes don't always show well in photos. I think the perspective gets a bit warped due to the lens and angle and distance to the camera. Camera closer to deck = more foreshortening and worse representation of the actual shape.

Yeah totally!

Really depends on how they take the pic or what they use, as well as how they crop the pic down too.  I know some of the professional setups have a fixed vertical camera position which gives some of the best pics overall, as per the studio I saw from one place with what might have been the longest distance I had seen for taking pics, but that shop always put out top notch pics.

@woodshop
truck hole pattern is 1.625 x 2.125
total for both trucks is 4.25

Thank you!

I had just used calipers on a board and trucks I had close by at the time, so thought there would be some differences, but it still just doesn't add up with some board specs, which is a bit funny really.

Measured another ten or so boards from specs alone and they vary from 3.7 up to 4.8 when taking everything else from the total length.

I know most of the boards I measure in person seem longer than specs though.

Looking around and this came up between a few places

From a shop site for that exact deck:

Width: 8.5".
Length: 31.5".
Wheelbase: 14".

One other place, from that exact deck also Width: 8.5″. Length: 31.5″. Wheelbase: 14″.

From @off in another thread general sizes scumco 8.5/31.75/14.0
