freddy gall. sparks a huge pure hash spliff, hits it twice and gives the rest to me and my buddy. "you guys probably need it more than me". other than that he just seems like a big clown(in a good way) always stoked and joking around

that's so sick...the nicest dudes ive met are probably scott johnston, rob pluhowski, and geoff rowley.  Geoff Rowley invited me to sit down with him and appleyard at a starbuck's one time after I said what's up to them, (this is right before sorry dropped) and had a half hour convo with them about all types of shit.  Gotta give it up to them.

rb umali - nice guy for sure.

I'm sure he is, but the only time I've had a chance to meet him, he was acting like a complete asshole to kids at a demo.  They were just kids stoked to be seeing a sick demo.  He probably was just over it after being on tour for a couple of weeks.

Jeff Pang and Harold Hunter (rip) for sure.  Pang is one of the coolest guys in the industry.  If you ever get a chance to talk to him, he's got some of the best stories about NYC's early years on the skate scene.

yeah, even the nicest guys can be assholes at times.  people forget that everyone has their good days and bad days, i'm assuming he was having a bad day...not that thats a good excuse to be mean to little kids but i'm not going to hold it against him, i've been mean to kids too, i think we all have.

pang is definitely cool.  the first time i spoke to him i didn't even notice it was him.  we talked about zoo york boards and how they skated, what i liked about them, what i didn't like them.  it wasn't until a few minutes after he walked away that i was like, "woah, was i just talking to jeff pang?"  since then, he says hello whenever i see him downtown or at some event and i'm not remotely famous or important.

harold was and will always be the nicest guy in NYC.  he was always down for the kids and would always take the time to talk to anyone that talk to him.  most people would blow you off but he didn't care about who you were, he just liked people as a whole.  i really wish he were still around.

odell should consider doing an episode on harold.  i know hes not around but he could do an episode with a bunch of harold's close friends(steve r giving harold props was dope) and have them tell some crazy harold stories.  it would definitely be entertaining to say the least.

Beagle was at a demo in a warehouse in SA once and seemed stoked I was sitting on a cooler by myself drinking beer watching them skate; he kept skating my way, in essence, creating a breeze for me. Or he was repeatedly farting on me.

I met Tim O’Conner once and he was really nice to me. Props to him.
I’ve never met him, but Karl Watson always seems like a really nice dude in everything you see from him.

I dont personally know malcom. But I know he was skating for hoodlum, and collecting checks. And I forget what mag it was but he said something like 'its just rumors'. Basically stating he really didnt skate for hoodlum and for people to stop saying that he did. But he his own sig hoodlum board?  I didnt hear many good things about him from a few friends who skate/shoot with him.

despite what you may think of his image or whatever, the guy is one of the best with kids and signing things and putting up with people constantly harassing him for how he dresses. he is genuinly nice from the times ive been around him.

andy roy. met him around 96 at a demo and he was almost too nice. really polite to the point where i was kinda confused b/c i think it was after reading his big brother interview. penny is way nice too but im pretty sure he was really high both times talking to him.

Maybe he was just trying to get a little cuddle action.  ;)

Karl Watson was really nice to me the one time I was at the pier. He could tell I wasn't a local, could've been the consolidated hoody and torn up jeans, and mesh hat, so he came over and talked for a little bit.

Seth Macullum and Ryan Wilburn. I used to see them down at burnside and around the other parks a bunch. Down to kind of just lurk out, shoot the shit and skate. Seth would get me extra pumped because he would be down there early when I went at like 9.

Al Partanen. I haven't seen that dude not pumped.

Nate Jones. How can people not be down for this loveable hippie.

Navarette and Hewitt, dudes who are just down as fuck to skate, and happen to also be really fucking good. First time I met Nav I fanned out a bit, and told him how I'd probably had more of his decks than any other pro's. He responded with, "Woah, I am so fucking baked right now." Awesome.

Rick McCrank
Koston
Geoff Rowley
