I think a big part of weight control is portion control. In certain European countries I've been to where there are not a lot of over weight people, they eat bread, fatty meats, cheese, etc. But, they do it in small portions. In the US, if you get takeout, bring it home and put it on a plate, it's easily two meals. For example, a steak should be about 4-6oz, not 12-16 like in a steakhouse. Pizza is fine, just eat one slice. Also, just moving around. Walk to the store instead of driving. I'm lucky to have two big dogs, so I know I'm walking 30-45 minutes 2x a day at minimum, then exercise/skating on topo of that. Eating at home with good ingredients is also key.
