If 'pussy' is as derogatory as calling someone a 'dick', where's the misogyny? Sounds like gender equality to me. Is 'asshole' fair game? As a dude, I feel no way personally, or as a member of the male constituency, about dick being a common insult. I don't see how 'pussy' reflects negatively on women as a whole, and I don't think most people who use it colloquially think misogynistically when they refer to someone that way.

Genetalia need not be gendered anyway. The trans and gender non-binary community doesn't take very kindly to it, I've heard.

because pussy is synonymous with "weak", which leans towards gendered stereotypes that women are weaker than men.

If you call someone a dick, you aren't implying they are weak.

not here to argue - i had always thought "pussy" was sort of an extension of "scaredy cat" and not really about men or women/genitals.

i don't call people pussies anymore - i haven't since i was a child - because i try not to insult people and am aware of the misogynist take, but yeah i never thought i was calling someone unmasculine or feminine. i thought i was calling them a "scaredy cat" of sorts.

I think this will stir some discourse and (hopefully) move us away from talking about dicks n pussies for at least a few minutes.

For some reason I was curious or looking to have a laugh, and I checked out ol J Casanova's Youtube channel. I came across a snippet from one of his apparent songs in a video called "J3R3M3 Major".

My argument here is that this song in particular... not vying for anything else he's done or does... this song is actually not bad, and perhaps even tolerable. Especially for him and all his cheesiness and bad raps. I would argue that this snippet of the song had me saying "Hey, this doesn't sound like dogshit for a change."
