The softball episode with the MLB ringers of the day is another favorite classic episode. The entire episode is relentless with ridiculous gags.

Cut those sideburns Mattingly!
This episode is full of hilarious moments!

And the end credits song:
There was no wire. Clark's planet needed him.
Note: Clark Hassler died on the way back to his home planet.

Nah, they even had an episode about how much the simpsons are better. The most recent SP episodes are terrible with the pot farm.

What's up Shalomies 8)

Today's comedy one-off comes from one of my favorite scenes of the series overall! Season 7's hilarious random character Very Tall Guy pays some revenge on Nelson Muntz

Yessss! What a classic.

Chalmers: Aurora Borealis?! At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen!?!

Skinner: Yes.

I agree but you also have to factor in that they make those episodes in a week

Well make a South Park thread then...

They are they’re own thing.

You must have missed this whole entire premise of this thread, or can’t read, you come in talking about an entirely different show.

Again, make another thread. Fuck outta this one if you don’t like the Simpsons that much.

That just sounds lazy and an excuse if they suck. It's like procrastinating on a test and barely passing or at most getting a half decent grade.

Yeah Benz it doesn't seem you noticed, but we're all having a moment here. You can dig south park - that's fine. But kindly leave us to our fun. Thanks.

Oh how could I forget about Duffman!

"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem!"
"Duffman can't breathe! Oh no!"

And from the bartender contest:
Duffman: Duff beer is brewed from hops, barley, and sparkling clear mountain...
Titania: Goat!
Duffman: Close enough! (Duffman music plays)

From that same episode: Moe's old bartending professor who he reconnects with is in one of my favorite singular Simpsons scenes of all-time.

It's so bizarre and random in multiple ways. I love it.

There was no wire. Clark's planet needed him.
Note: Clark Hassler died on the way back to his home planet.

I'm glad to hear it! Speaking of Simpsons memes, do you follow any Simpsons-related groups or pages on FB or IG? If not, may I suggest Simpsons Bortposting on FB?

Edit: here's a good example of the magic that occurs in Bortposting: https://www.facebook.com/groups/simpsonsbortposting/permalink/1529783813873428/

Edit edit: @bortofdorkness is my favorite Simpsons fan IG account

Steamed Hams x Feel Good Inc - the bit where Chalmers raps about the steamed hams being obviously grilled

fuck the season 3-10 elitists everything up to ~15 was amazing

[close]
I stopped buying the DVDs after season 15. I think that the earlier seasons have more depth to their stories and humor and thus hold up better to rewatching, but I agree that up to about 15 and 16, most episodes are still pretty good, just not "classics".

Edit: Also, the clip you posted is great. Albert Brooks is probably the most underrated recurring guest voice actor on the show

i hear the staff episode commentary on the dvds is amazing have you watched them?

Pizzaflip, that episode and scene are classic 8) Thank you for adding that - that cowering shot is too good.

Today's one-off goes to Frank Grimes. RIP buddy - your appearance is season 8 was a hilarious foil to the great metaphorical dysfunctional Simpsons family, and for that we love the episode you starred in ;D

"I live above a bowling alley, and below a bowling alley..."

You might already know this but Swartzwelder wrote that episode as a response to people idolizing Homer.
And speaking of foils and DVD commentaries, there's an episode commentary where one of the writers (I believe Matt Selman) says that Superintendent Chalmers is his favorite character because he's the reoccurring character living closest to reality, and spends most of his screen time pointing out the absurdity of the world around him

I was at the skate park last weekend and there were dudes im crop tops and high jeans, the kind that lots of girls these days wear. I was on shorts and some knee high socks with Burrito prints on them to protect my shins. Never had I felt more like Skinner
