The hardest part is getting your shoulder's all the way around. That's been the difference I've noticed when I actually land a good one. Usually, I'll get 270 and turn the rest on the ground.

i've known 3 people in my life who had them every time on flat and they all said  its in the wind up of your upper body, just pop and follow you shoulders.  it never helped me get further than 270 but maybe it'll help.

You gotta really wind up those shoulders.  You should watch old footage of Jeremy Wray.
The hardest part is winding up and still popping...it's really hard to get the timing.

1st,  place your front foot like you're going to do a heelflip.  i know its sounds weird but you're foot will tend to slide off when you're trying to turn fast, so keeping your front foot toes hanging off a little makes that adjustment for you.

2nd, make sure you get your shoulders turning FS before you pop.  i see this happen all the time and i can't stress this enough.  if you don't turn theres no way to land the trick.

3rd, pop as high as you can but spinning fast is more important, once you pop and it gets past 180, use your front foot and scoop/push it down and around the other 180.

its kind of hard to learn them on flat, so try doing it off something small like a oversized curb or ledge/drop so you get a little more time to turn the entire 360.
if you learn them off a little drop, you'll have plenty of time to get it around, and you'll also get a better feel for the trick(the spinning, landing, foot placement).  after you get use to landing them off a drop, then you can them take it to flat and it'll make things much easier.

I can do them of the flat and of drops without the revert but doing them on banks are hard as shit.

I don't find them hard at all, the day I tried them I got it like 4 tries after. you just gotta really swing your shoulders when you pop it. I find it's easier to do them 270 with a pivot, but if you pop it hard enough you can spin the full 360.

yeah...i've done 'em 270 w. the pivot and what helped me was pretending....like you find a line on the ground and pretend it's like a backside hip....seriously....the other way is to do them switch...i  think they take less effort...

I can do them on flat pretty easy.
I think the key to this trick is to turn your shoulder before you pop, when you are at a 270 use your front foot to turn the board around or your foot will come off.

i think of it like you shoud scoop it like 100 degrees before you even pop or jump so that means wind yo shoulda's like a bitch but they are hella fun when you learn them

Turning my head really hard helps. I can only do them off of drops, but to get them to spin properly I have always whipped my head around like I was trying to see something on my back shoulder. Doing that, and just turning my head off has always helped. That and doing 360 no complies.

There's two ways to do this way, the shit way with your front toe hanging off or the legit way like j wray. Check pj in wonderful horrlible life, he can do them out of a low tailslide. The trick is to land on your back truck at first and finish off the spin by straightening your front leg. Once you get the rotation figured you can do them legit, but my best advice is to copy pj at first.
