also Richard Jenkins acted as pretty much the same exact character in Step Brothers as he did in I <3 Huckabees. Also pretty sure the dad from Juno has played 'square, but lovable dad' several times.

Leslie Nielsen is my favorite type-cast character actor. Aside from Creepshow, I can't think of shit else he's done where he isn't just his funny self. "I CAN HOLD MY BREATH FOR A LONG TIME!"
