These are my favorite albums listened to over the past decade and they all bring back some awesome memories and feelings:

Modest Mouse "The Moon & Antarctica" (pretty cliche to people these days but it broke alot of ground)
Cass Mccombs "PREfection" and "A"
J Dilla "Donuts"
Explosions In The Sky "The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place"
Animal Collective "Strawberry Jam"
That first Arcade Fire album was great but i get a bad taste in my mouth just mentioning there name (*shudders* Ty Evans)
Radiohead "Kid A"

will add more later

and it came out in 2000 too. no mean feat to make one of the best albums of the decade when the decade has barely kicked off

lots of real good ones...skimmed my ipod and just picked what i thought were diverse and strong albums.

a.r.e. weapons - a.r.e. weapons
bear vs shark - right now, you're in the best of hands
between the buried and me - alaska
cymbals eat guitars - why there are mountains
electric president - electric president
explosions in the sky - those who tell the truth shall die, those who tell the truth shall live forever; all of a sudden i miss everyone
faraquet - the view from this tower
the good life - album of the year
iron & wine - the shephard's dog
kings of leon - aha shake, heartbreak
m. ward - post-war
menomena - friend of foe
my morning jacket - at dawn; it still moves; z (too hard to pick one)
old canes - early morning hymns
the shins - oh, inverted world; chutes too narrow
stephen malkmus - face the truth
zero 7 - the garden; simple things

and you all know that radiohead did such a good job on 'in rainbows'.
I am in fact, a homosexual like Brian Anderson

Don't hate on Lilly Allen.  She's British, she'll out drink you, make fun of you then shag your one of your friends when you're passed out.

A whole decade without a stinker album is no small feat when you put out as much as these dudes, but this is the pick of the litter.

thats a really good one.  a local musician here in new orleans was in that band, and was one of the only members that are still alive (i don't think he was on tour with them during their accident).

anyway, i can't really think of any "albums of the decade", but i've had these on pretty steady rotation since they came out:

blonde redhead - misery is a butterfily
black heart procession - amore del tropico
the first hot snakes album
milemarker - frigid forms sell
glass candy - beat box
justice - cross
the knife - deep cuts
bat for lashes - fur and gold
dead meadow - feathers
black rebel motorcycle club - brmc
radiohead - hail to the thief
converge - jane doe
planes mistaken for stars - "knife in the marathon"

i'm sure they're not everyone's favorites, but to me these are albums i never get tired of
