Sorry to go from good to bad, but I just finished Generation Kill and wanted to explain why it sucked..
- It tries to make everyone in the US military look stupid, yet doesn't expose any of the real sketchy shit they do.
- It doesn't really tell you anything about the war except that they kill bad guys, occasionally civilians, in hopes of liberating Iraq.
- None of the main characters die, get hurt, or go fully insane. In an 8 hour war movie. Really?
- There's next to no suspense and the action scenes are over before you know it.
- The Rolling Stone guy is practically the lead yet he contributes nothing and just awkwardly leaves at the end.
- Random shit happens for no reason other than to seemingly kill time.
- The ending leaves you feeling as over it as the dudes in the movie.
