hey guys, I've been pondering some Lakais, just wondering if these are some of those shoes you need to half size up/down or if they're just the same? I ask this as I generally wear Vans and I know when I've had other shoes, I've had to get diff. sizes. Thanks in advance for any info

Im wearing some Breas right now size 9 and they fit good could go 8.5 if i wanted a tighter fit but theyd be a bit too tight at first but theyd definetly be normal when they break in.

In my experience it's all in how thick the padded insole is.
The lower/thinner the insole is the more toe bending room.
The higher/thicker the insole the less toe movement and it's pressed up against the top of the inside of the front of the shoe always.
I'd say stay true to what your Vans size was and just play with the insole if you have probs of them feeling small.
If you're a 10 in Vans I'd stick with a 10 in Lakai. Good luck. :)

I only wear Lakais and tried almost all of the newer styles.
Carlo, Mariano, Manchester etc is basically "regular" sizing to me. The Griffin though, I had to go from 10,5 to 11.
Hope this helped in some way..

i have to go half a size down with lakais.

i think they fit true to size... never had any problems

I have had a few pairs of lakais, seems like they run pretty true, but kinda big when broken in, my carrol 5's and picos in 11.5 feel almost kinda big now that they have really stretched out, and thats the size I always wear in vans, sole tech, nike shoes. the lakais feel bigger, but not enough to really want to go a size down.
i'm pretty picky about the fit/feel for my skate shoes, most people say they need to go a half size up for DCs and for me 11.5 my regular size, is perfect. I have a narrow foot though, so I like a tighter secure fit. Feels like I wont roll my ankles so easily.

thanks guys, my local shop has fuck all sizes , so I couldn't even try any on. Pondering the pico or the manchesters ... well or the mariano!

Get the Marianos. They last longer than you'd think

Even though I like some of their designs, I absolutely cannot wear DC because they fit a half size to small. For me, Lakai run true to size. Emerica generally run to size for me as well (except for reynold's lights). I wear a size 12 if that provides any frame of reference.

My rule of thumb for lakai is normal sizing for shoes that I'm just going to wear around, half size down for shoes I'm going to skate, With the understanding that the half size down will take some breaking in before they aren't too tight.
