holy fuck, what a treat.

Windsor James
-
Even Windsor is bummed on David Loy
-
It's always a bit off putting for someone to come off as cocky about a trick people are so luke warm with.
I'm sure he's just being funny, but his tone of voice didn't sell me on that.
-
Nora the Explora episode.

-
"y'all need to hop on a biggun" ;D
-
Do I care or no
-
she ain't got no love for pine even though they share a sponsor.
laughed about that towards the end.
-
really could have done without the one ding dong trying to mack it to her.
i wish these two would just talk normally
-
Cephas trying to get on some Weinstein shit.
-
Fuck the bunt for cracking onto Nora and making the whole show uncomfortable. I bet these dudes have never been friends with a girl. Could barely listen to this shit.
-
really could have done without the one ding dong trying to mack it to her.

the ghostface talk and all the sports talk are both corny and annoying. every time they end an episode with the sports talk i feel like some sports dorks have starting talking next to me at a bar.
-
I always stop listening when they start the sports talk.
I just recently started listening to them and just went through their past episodes and listened to the ones I was interested in. And I agree, "how they talk" does kind of grind my gears. I love Nora and now that I know (from the people who posted in this thread) that they mack on her I'm bummed already.
-
Low key got awkward at some points. The stalker stories she told were creepy.

Yeah, I felt kinda bad for her at some points, he's got the cocky approach to seal the deal at the bar, but she was kinda put on the spot for a podcast
-
The Windsor one was good....but the Nora one sucked.....
Women's skating only gets so much coverage and it was totally blown by a shitty joke and stuff that's been covered off.....
Like in Stevie Williams episode you could have spent the entire time asking him to send you a box but no way...you respect him too much...you put it in there then let him tell his story.....
When BA was on why didn't you ask him what types of skaters he goes for? It's because it's rude... No reason why we gotta treat chicks like this.....
-
Nothing wrong with asking the real questions, its just cephas was getting alittle rapey. Wonder if BA ever gets spread butthole DMs.
-
I really like The bunt typically, but def caught second hand embarrassment on this one. I don't know if Cephas was joking or what but he took the shit too far/too long. The part where he's talking about playing her in SKATE was fucking awful.
-
I'm sure nora deals with this shit everyday but i couldnt even finish the nora interview once dude got all creepy, between that and all the dumb ass slang they use. hadn't listened to one since the elijah berle one because of how annoying that dude is.
-
I'm a perfect world, they would've spent one minute MAX focusing on the fact that she's a girl. Cephas was partly just trying to be funny but he defs needed to chill. Donovan kept it cool. I still enjoyed the episode.
-
The Bunt isn't good.

The Bunt isn't good.
funny because i started listening to it because people were saying that it was better than nine club in a nine club thread
-
I've always really liked The Bunt, think I've listened to just about every episode, but the way they (particularly Cephas) acted towards Nora was so lame don't even know if I want to listen again.
-
Very glad that it wasn't just me that was bummed on this episode haha
-
Dude went on to brag about tricks he'll impress her with right after she says she doesnt get turned on by dudes skating haha so bad. She handled it the best she could the rest of the podcast, but damn dude
-
i also wanna say SHE killed it. she handled it so good. i learned stuff about her that i dont remember hearing anywhere else
Nora is a fucking G

I already wasn't a big fan of the Bunt because of the way they talked b ut this episode sealed the deal. Way to make a possibly awesome interview one of the most awkward things I've ever had to listen to.
-
The Ghost has never been with a woman, confirmed. Cringe factor over the top.
-
That's straight up embarrassing.
Nora handled well but I'm guessing she deals with this shit alot.
I like the bunt, but settle the fuck down.. just do a normal interview Mr fresh to death
-
Ok i just heard it and yall fruitcakes overreact. So he was flirty so what? Heterosexual behavior is chastised now?
-
Ok i just heard it and yall fruitcakes overreact. So he was flirty so what? Heterosexual behavior is chastised now?
He started flirty but then kept it up to a creeper factor, on a podcast hitting on the person you're interviewing repeatedly instead of having a conversation after said person complained a litttle about kooks,he kooked it.
-

Finally, a real man in this topic!
-
Nora handled that very well.
The Ghost should have been more mature regardless of doing it for "the people". He likes to test the guests, asking for repeated boxes and in this case, "flirt".
That being said, I still got love for the Bunt. Do they get Conan in Canada? Cepha needs "flirting with guests" tips.
-
The 'flirting' was pretty cringey, but nothing is worse than when Cephas punctuates a sentence with 'hehe'.

Oh word? You guys challenged your significant others to games of Skate and said you’d nollie frontside flip over their head?
We didn’t say he raped her, just said dude came off as a kook, no reason for you to bring that “real man” bullshit

I’m no uptight, but this had to have sucked for Nora. She handled it extremely well, but dude clowned himself pretty badly.
This interview bummed me out.

It's a podcast interview not a bar, when women go to a bar they expect to be hit on, when they go on a podcast surely they expect to be interviewed with some sense of decorum, like how if you tell a girl she's lookin sexy at a bar, ok, say the same thing at to her work and your getting written up or fired for sexually harassing her, Nora's work is a pro skater and part of that is interviews, she doesn't do work to be hit on that isn't part of her job....
-
Heh...you're livin up to your name....lots of chicks go to a bar and the only thing they expect is.....a drink....
-
Heh...you're livin up to your name....lots of chicks go to a bar and the only thing they expect is.....a drink....
i meant more of a standup and mingle club type bar, obviously going up to a group group of women at a sit down and chill kinda place is out of order, but if it's a stand-up/dancefloor type place I think they would have to be kind of naive to expect to not get hit on
edit: not saying this is the way it should be btw, but in my experience it's the way it is, and I think most women understand this

telling a girl "you look sexy" will not work in any situation, except on grenades. cephas made me relive my first times trying to get with a girl, embarrassing and creepy, uhhhh i blew it so hard.

Surprised no one has referenced the Mitch Barette's legendary story about Cephas' two-pump / noodle stab sexcapade.
-
I back The Bunt so much. They're taking the piss out of themselves a lot of the time. It's entertaining. All the 'hehe' and 'stihhhhl' just adds to the fun. The dudes edit the show and they were happy to put the Mitch Barrette 'Two Pump Chump' story out there.

That accent/slang is fucking obnoxious, and I can't do this show for that reason alone. Plus, that creepy shit towards Nora made me cringe. Its like if I started speaking in old English nowadays. It just doesn't work or make sense or fit with my style.

Go listen to NPR then you fucking nerd
-
Did they ask him about Big Brother/Stevie?
-
Worst style and he picks Franky V.
Seriously? Of all the people you could pick?
-
I meant to ask this last week, but does anyone happen to remember when Cepha and Donovan did their own rapid fires? One of the fan questions last week brought it up and they said they've already done it, but I have no recollection of it, and I don't wanna go back through every episode.

The biggest bunt of the bunt was the creepy hitting on Nora..
-
Good episode. I wonder if the Greco phone call happened before the BB interview or as a result of it. The way he tells it Greco kicked him off first, but it's not really clear.
The story about the wrestling coach while skating the roof with Arto is gnarly

yeah I felt like he got the time line a little confused there too... overall I thought Corey came off like a like able good guy... we've all had moments we aren't proud of... I can't imagine being 14 and under a microscope for one of my most regrettable moments. Greg Carroll leaving him in Tampa was pretty fucked too

I just can't see duffel on baker... if doesn't work for me so I'm glad it didn't work out. His comments on Osiris were so spot on. During duffels peak popularity, I wonder if companies tried to poach him... he would fit great on cons. Never made sense on Osiris, and Idk how they're still around. Still living off d3 sales from 15 years ago?

The timeline i remember IRL, which could be wrong was him getting kicked off Baker was before the Stevie incident. I think it was back to back 411s where i had never heard of him, then he was in a think industry section hitting a bunch of big rails , then next issue was Tampa am, and that was a few months before the Big Brother thing.

coreys sick! always been a fan since his think days. that's life is probably my favorite part of his, so it was cool to hear about some of those times & to hear him in an interview, he sounds like a sour patch kid
sucks what happened to him in Tampa, but ends up as another awesome BA story
woulda been a perfect fit for baker at the time
wish they woulda asked him a little about his DJing stuff, i see his name around here on bills but have yet to make it out to one
sounds like he's got a lot to be sorry for & did a few people dirty but glad he's realized he's in the wrong & fucked up - go give tempster that hug man

wish they woulda asked him a little about his DJing stuff, i see his name around here on bills but have yet to make it out to one
sounds like he's got a lot to be sorry for & did a few people dirty but glad he's realized he's in the wrong & fucked up - go give tempster that hug man
duffel fully on chuck taylors would be tight
Haha Duffel went full nine club style, just telling his entire story until finally Cephas found the dead air to ask another question. Def the least we have ever heard from Cephas and Donovan, good episode though!

I cannot stand the guys that run this show. The way they talk is so annoying I cant even focus on what they're saying.
I've tried multiple times, but I'll stick with the nine club.
"sorry yo"
Yeah, I kind of agree. It sounds really forced and corny. I’ll listen if there’s a cool guest, though.
lot's of people talk kinda like that here at times, definetly heavy on american "ebonic" or jamaican slang or even with italian slang mixed in, they ham it up but it's not unnatural to my ears anyway
-
These guys let the guest talk.....
Was disappointed not once did they refer to Duffman as 'my trashy niggie'
-
I liked the Bunt but now I have a really hard time listening to these because of the Nora episode.
The biggest bunt of the bunt was the creepy hitting on Nora..
It was a punisher of an episode to say the least.
-
one of the best yet, Duffel is rad
Couldn't agree more.
-
Strangely enough they just mentioned a lot of his big gaps and rails.....what about his tranny action?
-
Corey's mistakes would have buried many other skaters careers. It's cool he just kept bouncing back.

They ask who has the worst style, and he mentions clint and clive and then goes on to just say "fuck it, the whole team" and specifies Riley's dad and Lizzie as well. Pretty sure it's a joke though.

That was kinda funny, but there's definitely some merit when he mentioned Clint as fast as he did. You could tell that shit was natural for him.
-
Better be a joke. Can't diss the birdman's style
-
Anyway it was hilarious, putting the whole birdhouse squad on blast.
-
People ask for harsher rapid fires and then get mad when guests speak their mind!
-
what a bunch of pussies! nobody allowed to have their own character anymore.. people treat you any way you let them. if a skater who's trying to stay relevant in the industry can't handle an idiot, then they Rodney Mullen out in a garage or park away from them. Skateboarding is a vain lame stupid waste of time if you're all gonna try to take the life out of the people "involved".. its a good show and my favourite is when Cephas is sarcastic about being a killer. its literally the #1 entertainment in the whole show. the other guy doesn't risk shit! CEPHAS FOR SOTY SCHTILL!!!

Haven't listened yet but looking forward to the inevitable trash talk from Leo
-
Just to come back on the Dick Rizzo episod, a part from that Birdhouse diss, i found it pretty uninteresting as he sucked pretty bad at telling stories, barely answering questions. It sounded as Cephas and Don were struggling to get full sentences out of him... I was suprised at how short that interview part was also.
That being said, Rizzo's skating is dope.
-
Dang, Leo callin out last week's guest, haha.
Pretty enjoyable episode. Does anyone know what kinked rail he was talking about in his "trick that got away" segment? He said it was in his Stay Gold b-sides but it ain't.
-
Sick that Leo shouted out Danny Brady. Didn't hear anything about Dick Rizzo or Bronze, though? For whoever asked, the crooked grind that got away is at 6:10.

Jerry Hsu's on today. Can't link cuz I'm on my phone. It was a good interview, but I kinda wish it would have happened next week instead so we could hear about his Chocolate departure.
-
I wasn't expecting Jerry to come out swinging for the rapid fire questions. Good interview, beyond the aforementioned Chocolate snub.
-
Jerry calling out Vern Laird was funny.
-
Agreed on the switch ollie over the dirt gap in Bag of Suck! One of the all time greatest clips!!!
-
aside from the Vern Larid roast, seemed like an interview where nothing much was said. please, bring up more topics that have been covered to death, i’d absoloutely love to hear how weird The Storm is.

I disagree.
I am a big Hsu fan and found a lot of the interview interesting and stuff I hadn't heard before.
Especially around the filming of Stay Gold and Made 2.
-
Boys of summer tour video sounds promising, I agree with Cephas's notion that Jerry Hsu should be considered as an all time great.

'likes' aside that was the best bunt this season. really interesting insights
-
Vern callout seemed harsh without any context, like would he randomly show up? would he say kooky shit or just show up and sucked everytime. Only seemed weird because Jerry rides/rode for Swiss for a long time.
Really good episode, love how much he talked throughout the whole thing since Jerry usually comes off a quite guy.

Clint Walker's on today. He basically defends every controversy he's been apart of, but I dunno how much I believe it. He retells the windshield KOTR story and it's almost as if he's unaware that the whole thing is on film, because it definitely didn't go down as he tells it.
-

i know he's the progenitor but he does em like diarreah. you're sposedta ollie in like a 5-0/blunt mix but he ollies to 5-0 then turns the grind. i could do that [i just don't choose to] but the real blunt grind ones are ill.

He strikes me as more of a "it's what you do, not how you do it" kind of dude. I completely agree with him on that French hobo situation, however. He may have sounded like an asshole describing it, but I'd say he wasn't in the wrong. If you run at anybody bug eye'd all hobo'd out, it's fight or flight. And he made it pretty clear he wants to fight. Dude was in another country and it'd probably be in his best interest to go against his tendencies and be a temporary pacifist, but, like he said: "fuck you"
-
Dude sucks. He's the guy at the party who has to talk louder than everyone else to voice an opinion that's probably useless but swears it's the most important thing out there. And let's be honest, we were all awkward, nervous teens about having sex at one point or another...we know you were scared to only last a few pumps and I doubt that it was that he was so scared to "get a girl pregnant" and ruin his precious blooming career...but I do believe that he didn't do any drugs or drink to be "different." Standing outside of the crowd is an easy way to get all eyes on you
-
Catching up on episodes today. Jerry Hsu in my top 5 just cause he’s a rad dude. Lol @ saying Jaws style is trash.
Halfway through Corey Duffel right now and he’s hasn’t stopped talking even to breath yet I don’t think. Is this dude on coke? Not sure I like him. And I never knew about that interview he did where he said that about Stevie. I was regular at 16 ( how many times he said 16 so far?) too but I don’t think that’s a good enough excuse.

Bumped into him after the Palace premiere, he was waiting for Ellington to get the car and we ended up talking for half an hour. Genuinely nice and humble does not even begin to describe him. As we were parting ways I went to shake his hand, and he is not like "Nah dude, I'm a hugger" and hugged me. Have always been stoked on Herman, but that interaction just took it to another level. If I come across a Herman board in my size, I'm gripping it.

Enjoyed the hardflip talk. I'd argue that Herman singlehandedly brought proper hardflips back. I went to a This Is Skateboarding premiere and when he did it in his part, everyone was shocked.

i was surprised to hear how well spoken and thoughtful he seems. i haven't ever heard/read one of his interviews but i got the impression from other posters that he was just a burnout druggie for some reason
i also loved that we got Beagle and Herman both on podcasts in the same week!
-
I loved this episode, only thing I was bummed on was the lack of questions about St.Archer... I've always heard that he made off like a fucking bandit from the shares he sold and would have been interesting to hear a little bit of his perspective on that stuff. This episode definitely gave me a new found respect for Herman though, seems like he has a really good head on his shoulders.
-
Awesome episode. Definitely a huge Herman fan. Loved the hardflip and nollie inward heel talk. I think he single handedly made nollie inward heels cool. The story about his brother, Antwan and the paintball gun was crazy.

I was in my car listening to that, and I just laughed out loud when he said he hid the guns from antwuan because he was afraid he would shoot the mailman or something.

Why not let Herman speak longer and go more in-depth? He seemed ready to keep going. Then they rush him off to small talk for 20 minutes? Cepha even made a remark about the podcast being too long or being 2 hours. There’s a great way to cut 20 minutes if he’s feeling the crunch.

The day me and my Phelan buddy (Mike Heff) got sponsored by Pharmacy Donny showed us Hermans sponsor me video for the shop and said we just put this kid on.
I would skate with the Pharmacy dudes every 1 to 2 months and Herman would progress like crazy every single time.
One week he learned back lips on the claremont skatepark rail, the next week he attempted them down the Telephone rail (a low 5 stair rail in Chino) got a board to the face and took off runnin yellin he saw blue (I actually have a VHS tape of this). Not much long he did it down the Wilshire 10.
After backllippin Wilshire 10 he wanted to grind the 15 the next week which he did 1st try I beleive. The footage is in 16 and below. I filmed it from the top with my shitty camera. He was on World at the time. After that we went to Beverly and witnessed Arto, Trainwreck, Mouly, Ellington, Evan Hernandez and more session the rails for a second before gettin the boot. That was a cool day.
Pharmacy was like the first real skateshop of the High Desert that created a scene and Donny helped out many people during that era. Herman got hooked up, then Matt Allen, Tony Silva, Leo Romero. Then the Palmdale dudes started getting noticed (Marquis and Keelan). It was rad to see a lot dudes from that area get shine because it's kinda on the outskirts of where everything else is.
His old compound is a few miles from where I grew up, all the stories he says from that area make me laugh, I miss living out there...

I listen to the sports talk.

Billy Marks cheated us out of a Bryan Herman Nollie Inward heel down carlsbad? Thats the most devastating news I've heard this year.
Edit: Also Herman saying he never learned nollie f/s flip on flat... He does a pretty good one in that shared part with Joey Pioriez

Clints episode is officially the only episode of the bunt i couldn't get through. fuckin weird dude.
clints lack of words is worse than my trick selection.
-
I'll say, I did like when Herman was saying how he hid his guns from Antwuan and told the short story about how Antwuan pulled a gun on someone who came to their house. Kinda reminded me of some Larry David/Leon antics.
-
holy shit AO's hosoi story is so cool already! this should be a good one. theyre going to have to make these longer. i felt like the herm episode kinda just left a lot to be desired, but nice interview nonetheless.
-
The AO one was really cool. I like that he doesn't filter much of he's words. Nice stories about Dylan. too :)
Imagine if crailtap would have made a company with Olson and Dylan wonder how things would have turned out.
-
Great stuff
-
is it me or the audio quality was really really off ? good interview nonetheless

I get annoyed with him sometimes, but he's had some pretty good stories and cool stuff to say so far. I'm only like 30 in.
This must be the tour that Dill fucked his credit up over:

one thing that immediately stuck out to me is how little AO says "like" compared to the last few intervewees. Good on ya alex
-
Great episode, the Dylan stories were rad. Weird Suprme doesnt think Alex fits their image enough to "be on the team"
Edit:Also these dudes are the worst at sports talk they just dickride LeBron and Tom Brady during the segment.
-
Hilarious he would fit in perfectly on slap with the hate on element, birdhouse, redbull and even Dill and supreme(lowkey).
"If you're not on fa you don't get on the team."
-
That was a great episode. Alex Olson is the shit.
-
This is a question from a few weeks back, but what spot do you think Jerry Hsu was referring to, when he said he was trying to film a whole part there? Has this been discussed already?
-
Also these photos from Herman's 18th birthday, at Bam's place, are great.

-
Great episode.
This made me like Alex more, he is pretty unfiltered about the industry. The part about leaving lakai for nike and the opportunities the bigger paycheck allowed him to explore. Also how after fully flared most of Lakai’s team was poached by bigger companies.
Wish it had been longer.
-
Or how he didn't want to be associated with the aesthetic of girl after pretty sweet - wise move lol
Wonder what his career would have been like on anti hero
I gained mad respect for him after coming through with the great vid this year, and it sounds like even his own team was doubting him, although also sounds like his partner Logan did a lot of it, so props to him too
Slap mention too
-
The Dylan stories were great . Mic-e Reyes punching him story was hilarious. I’ve always enjoyed this dude.
-
I thought the cepha/olson light jabs at each other were great. Good episode.
"Damn, that sounds gnarly as satan"
-
one thing that immediately stuck out to me is how little AO says "like" compared to the last few intervewees. Good on ya alex
Holy shit fer real. When I listen to a podcast and people say like every other word it's nearly impossible to finish it.
-
they should get Chris Russell on, pretty sure he rides Bronsons!
-
When Tim O’Connor interviewed AO I thought it was super cringey and I assumed he was a complete douche. I got the opposite impression this time around. What a difference the interviewer can make...
-
That story about him getting punched by Mickey was amazing.
-
When he said that part about Element I was screaming in my car. Too funny. I think the "bigger paycheck" he was talking about after Lakai was Vans. I kind of wish he would have thrown out a number for the Nike contract though. If guys like him, BA and Omar can do their own little things thanks to those SB checks, they must be making a healthy salary.
-
These Canadian dudes could not try harder. Please stop, yo.
Alex is the best though.

Also I’m pretty curious regarding adidas and Nike skate contracts. Recently read about an NBA player on adidas who’s brother gets $250,000 a year as part of dudes contract.
I bet Suciu makes nowhere near that.

Pointless episode. Probably the worst one aside from Nora’s

Yeah - pretty bad, jet lag I guess.

Well, Adidas probably was banking on Derrick Rose to be a Lebron James and it just didn't pan out. Such and just skaters in general I don't think have the coverage and fame that basketball players have.

callum paul was once invited to a friends party. he and his friends stole from behind the bar and were confronted and kicked out. then they bitched about it out front on the street causing a scene. pretty low

i lurk constantly and never really post here but just had to air out that chimas story about kyle walker was absolute bullshit. the real story is:
this guy was blackout drunk at a bar and was telling chima he was a big fan and put his arm around him
chima took it the wrong way and thought the guy was taking the piss
the guy got kicked out of the pub because he was so drunk
kyle walker and dan lutheran dragged him into an alley and beat the shit out of him
he was so drunk he could barely stand
they were coked up and thought they were tough
then they sent him death threats on instagram the next day telling him to keep his mouth shut as to not ruin their images/careers
real pieces of shit, the both of them, anyone whos met dan lu will tell you the same

-
Just became a James Hardy fan. Bummer it’s at the end of his career.
-
Big time respect for James hardy, he was/is an amazing skateboarder, and sounded like a stand up dude.
The way he moved on from skateboarder was admirable, still skating, but focusing on real life and taking nothing for granted.
I will never be able to look at heath the same, James had nothing to gain by telling that story.
not only was that jock/predator shit, and coming up to him and attempting to intimidate him afterwards.
FUCK HEATH (i was a huge heath fan before this, and I still respect his skateboarding)
cepha and dono are getting better with every episode.

Canada has public health care, but its almost impossible to get knee surgery or any sort of surgery that is "unnecessary". They'll push you to do anything else. You have to lie about your pain or somehow convince them you can't work.
If i was american with health insurance, I would have had re constructive knee surgery 15 years ago, and a hip replacement 4 years ago.
both systems have their pros and cons.

Any person whose income depends on their ability to perform athletically goes to the states for knee surgery or similar procedures.
Plus, if you are out of country for over 6 months a year your healthcare will lapse. Not good for a place where most major cities are pretty unreliable for skating 4 months a year. Only major city that is somewhat reliable for winter is Van.

That's only because of wait times. If you can afford it, it's a free market and you can go down south and get treated faster. But if you can wait a bit longer, you can get treated here even if you are broke.

the hazing was pretty lame, but people do stuff in the past that is regrettable, i have, and I am sure we all have.
Then you grow older and mature and are able to reflect and learn from your mistakes.
Heath confronting him and being upset that he made him look like a dick is what makes me think he's an idiot. Living in his little bubble.

there's that and there's 'pretending to be blue collar'. i mean, maybe it's admirable and i try to experience as much as i can in life but it's different when you don't need the money.
like now heath can go 'what's this guy's problem? i delivered pizza pie, it wasn't hard' sorta like when you've been unloading a truck for a while, you're sluggish and a fresh manager will come up, bust ass for 2 minutes like 'see how easy it is?'

Haha I sent a question in to Skate Talk one time when Leo was on asking "Does Heath still slap Leo around?"
Bob read it out loud and wouldn't answer it. Heath does some Leo hazing in "Kids in Emerica," but nothing like the Hardy episode. Shit sounded almost Grosso-on-drugs level.
I think we all knew Heath was a little crazy. Hardy shoulda beat his ass. Dude is burly now and that is pretty fucked up shit to do to someone.

I think Dan Lu said "philosophi" instead of "philosophise" when talking about conversations with his brother.
But who am I to judge. I pronounce "regularly" as "reguLARly" instead of "REGularly."

-
Guess he’s still on habitat.
Stoked for the vid
Loved the new segment where they call out the kook of the week - thanks for not going with the rest the industry by getting soft
-
He hasn’t had a habitat board in about two or three product drops. Maybe habitat has him on probation
Baby mama prolly took him to court and had his wages garnished causing habitat to take all the money they'd spend designing, printing and selling boards for him and just send to her directly instead. Not that that's how that works though.
-
Got a weird vibe about Daryl from the podcast, but just because I don't like someone, it doesn't mean that they're bad (obvs). He really does have a dozen parts.
I forgot until just now that I met him in Eugene at the park. I asked him was Forrest was like and he said something along the lines of "they wanted to make him a villain" and "I don't really know him". I loved how he asked if Forrest was an only child on OAIM (the video was deleted from youtube).
Saying Jamie Foy has the worst style in rapid fire was savage.

Did he say that? According to a quick IMDB search Marvin was played by a kid named Danny Walcoff.

I think it's funny how they up'd the shots fired after Dan Lu kept his episode super positive. Daryl seemed super uncomfortable by Cepha calling him out for a couple things.

At the same time they'd hype him up too though, real hot and cold interview technique. If none of that calling out happened it would have been unlistenable for the most part

I enjoyed Cephas calling him out. From that roast stuff awhile back maybe Daryl isn't the best dude? On a side note how you gonna get beat up by Kyle Walker and Dan Lu? Not trying to tough guy it or anything but imagine those two dudes trying to act hard with you

Can't understand why you'd like the nine club and not like the bunt
I've only listened/watched a couple of nine clubs so maybe it's changed but Chris Robert's never seemed prepared, he never knew as much about the guests as he should. Chris also seems really stupid too which doesn't help. Roger is just such a loser, come on. Kelly just laughs.
Cephas and Donno are hilarious and aren't afraid to have an opinion! That's the difference between the two. Nine club is just yes men agreeing with everything.
The bunt have had a who's who of skateboarding so far and show no sings of letting up. Presumably one day though they'll have interviewed everyone and they'll have to slow down the frequency of episodes quite a lot.
And anyone that hates on their gangsta slang, it's clearly all tongue in cheek and good humored!

Honestly, I can't fucking stand the hosts of the Bunt. I'm happy it exists and I still listen to it on occasion when they have the right guest, but it pretty much has nothing to do with them. 1 of them is particularly irritating, but I don't know which one it is.
You're not completely wrong about Chris Roberts not always seeming prepared, but his relationship with many of his guests make it so that I don't think he needs to, at least in my opinion. I have to admit, the fact that he's in my age range probably makes him more aesthetically pleasing to listen to for me (NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!)
Also, I had no idea Jamie Tancowny still existed.

We need a Tony Tave Bunt episode. Jamie mentioned he threw down some shit on a pretty heavy gap recently during the interview. Not sure why TT has been blackballed from the industry... I didn't listen to it yet but I feel like quitting zero for le (money wise) isn't too crazy. wasn't black box shutting down at the time and le had distro through blitz and element at one point. yeah the brand is not doing too hot now but with those backers and nick being on top of the skate world at the time I could see how someone easily switches. Unfortunately the "baker" formula didn't work for em.

My guess is their parents probably spoke that way growing up and thats where they picked it up. Its a "like father like son" situation. I'm from Appalachia and a lot of kids here don't make any sense, but they're not usually as intellectually deficient as they sound. They can't spell the word "hello" but they can build a truck out of twigs, rocks and muds.

I REALLY want them to interview some fucking Canadians (I know Tancowny is, but he basically insn't at this point). The best Bunt interviews (for the most part) have all been Canadian skaters. Ted is a fuckin nerd
-
Didn't Greg Carroll run Think? Wonder what kind of drugs they were pushing.
Nice to hear an educated skater! Not enough of them. Boston story was great, as was the Koston. Agree with him on Olson's style, and most of his views on skating in general.
Greco is corny but c'mon Baker 2G might be the best quantity vs quality part ever, slow mo be damned.
The Bunt guys were great on this one too, some excellent banter with Barrow.
Eta: I like how he isn't "in the industry" and can say whatever the fuck he wants. Very interesting that he calls AVE his favorite skater and Dill the last guy he wants on the sesh. Didn't Olson say the same thing about Dill? I guess since his skating has declined he yaps even more at the spot without contributing much? Don't know the guy but that's what it seems like with comments like this and the way the FA kids talked in his Epicly Laterd. Midlife crisis + semi sober + overnight success= ??

I really wanted them to ask him about posting while in the tub.

What I got from that Koston story is he's an insecure approval seeking kook that was so butt hurt that this random NY skatenerd socialite that skates decent didn't like him and or didn't give him approval and the dude couldn't take it...lmao.

He let his SLAP views prevent him from skating with Koston and friends. He eventually got over it and fell victim to a session with the light-skinned Tiger Woods, sounds like he might even be his bitch-made caddy now too.

A really good episode up today. Great conversation. Sounds like we have to wait a month for his Former part to drop.

I thought that Ted Barrows dude was kinda funny in the interview, I followed his insta and... I just don't really get it? I don't find it all that funny and I hate the way he takes selfie videos down low like that while walking in public. Do people really send him clips for him to kinda roast dumb shit about it?

"ATV" skating and shaped boards are more popular now than they were in the 90s

Hardly related, I heard a commercial for the new Vans video, "Spinning Away" . I think it was talked about with Chima to be presented like the Kyle Walker video. I couldn't find any trailers for it, but I could find the 2 different graphics for the cover and information for a premier.

Austyn and Ted both seemed almost too eager for the opportunity to be on a podcast and questioned at length about themselves, filling in irrelevant blanks on topics nobody really asked for, going too far sometimes, etc... Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of both of those guys and what they do, no respect lost and I’m not throwing around the word “narcissist” at all, I just found it interesting listening to their responses to certain prompts and such things such as that.

Well said. I think they're pretty clear about joking with how they talk. I get a kick out of it. I love whenever Cephas says something that's so ridiculous that you can hear Donovan have to repeat what Cephas just said back to himself. The advertisements they make throughout the course of the show used to really be too much for me so I'd always skip them, but now I think they're hilarious. Just some incredibly silly nonsense about Brixton's spring line that's blatantly the most scripted banter in the world. "Man, you know I love wearing my Brixton pocket tee when I am in that Miami hot sun." It's so stupid and you can pretty much hear them mailing it in, but it kills me. I think it's so funny now. Granted it's not for everyone, we all have different senses of humor.

Jamie's always a great interview and straight up. I can see how some of his tactics can rub people the wrong way.
I'm excited to hear about some new John Allie tricks and I hope Zero can experience some success again. I thought Cold War was well done and really liked how everyone in Misled had a guest trick in his part.

He annoys the hell out of you at first when you start listening to him, but the more you listen you realize his banter is fucking funny, in a stupid ridiculous kind of way. Suddenly you realize you've given your full attention to a rambling ten year old over your girlfriend, or in this case, two washed Canadians talking about skateboarding.
-
I wasn't sure if it was an act or not...I just thought, "of course Canadians would pronounce their gangsta slang in a proper way".
Leo Romero interview was solid.

-
Impossible 5050 clipper is my favorite “My War.” If I’m gonna try to go film something that shit gets me hype and prepared for battle.
Jamie Thomas vs SLAP was way before my time here. Who’s got a recap or a link for me? What type of shit were yall talking that made him fight back.
I’ve always been a fan and never even knew people said negative stuff about him. Watching guys Jamie and Reynolds keep pushing gets me more hype than watching the new guys (of course it’s also because I’ve looked up to them since I was a kid).
Def a talker though and can repeat himself a bit in an interview if not given direction. Hopefully he doesn’t ramble on his podcast. I’m def checking it out.

I thought the interview was good. I don't believe I ever heard of that Circa story before. I too also didn't get why everyone jumped ship but I guess that makes sense. I recall him addressing a lot of the urban legends - basically everything you’ve heard negative about him is false ::)
That said, I’m a fan.
-
the main complaint was that he was a drill sergeant company owner forced his squad to dress a certain way and "win demo"
he came here and very gracefully handled all the criticism. he handled himself, really really well at a time when if any industry folks came here they always would go at it all wrong and bitch and wine and make school yard threats. i remember very respectable people like jim tiebaud (sp) and the theories guy both coming in and tanking pretty hard. jamie was seriously the first well known industry person to come on here and out class everyone and turn the tide.

Jamie on Lakai wouldn't have been a good fit, still cool Rick and Mike offered him a spot though. I'm surprised that he didn't think he'd fit on DC, since Trainwreck was on DC at the same time. Plus Circa was basically the same thing as DC image-wise, arguably even "fresher." Obviously makes sense why he went to Circa for the reasons he mentioned though. Also I want a pair of Capitols.

Well, Trainwreck was on DC in 2000, around the same time Circa added Jamie to the team. That's what I meant. You're right he mentioned that Trainwreck was a bad teammate but maybe that's more of the head of the company unable to keep his "employee" in check. Just saying that Jamie on DC wouldn't have seemed like the most ludicrous of additions, so it's intriguing to hear his take on it.

Front feeble Clipper would've been rad in Cold War, forgot he filmed that impossible grind during the last hours too.
Never heard the story behind the Hollywood High back lip.

This got me stoked on zero. Bunt is rad because they do research and ask specific questions. Similar to CBI.

In the beginning when they talked about unlocking tricks with your mind, that was tight. Relatable to anyone who has tried and learned tricks on a skateboard.

Good questions.
Funny riff when Cepha said he could relate to the stress Jamie and co. had while filming Strange World and Donovan called him out on it.

Did you listen to the interview? I thought it was really cool and gave me more insight on The Chief's life. I like hearing about the behind the scenes business dealings too.

i think it was about the chief having a new podcast. between the 9 club and the bunt i think we got his story covered, but it could be cool depending on the guests

Despite his five hours of podcast coverage in the last few months, the internet clearly hasn't given us enough yet. Perhaps we could get Tim O'Connor to rope him in to his podcast to discuss Forrest Edwards' current W-2's.

Well, Kris did take the time to contact them personally to explain Taken is not his company. His wife owns the company, Markovich just supplies artwork. Come on now. Why would he start a company called Taken, after Given? It's all a big misunderstanding

I love that this page isn't up anymore but when I first saw their website, which was a while ago, they had an about us page for the company and it was just all about Kris Markovich. Like it was literally Markovich talking about himself, so that'd be a bit weird for "not my company"

ABOUT US
My name is Kris Markovich and im a skateboarder. Some of you may have heard of me, most of you probably not! I won't go into all of the companies i've ridden for over the years,i will just say it's alot. Needless to say i've learned a few things about skateboarding and skateboards. Which now brings us to TAKEN. Why and what is TAKEN you ask? TAKEN is my love for skateboarding and all of the knowledge i have picked up over the thirty years i've been skating, all wrapped up in a pretty little package for you.
Why you ask? Have you seen me? No one is hiring believe me! I love skateboarding, i still skateboard. That is why TAKEN!!!

We all get kooky as we get older. It’s life, it happens... you’ll have to trust me. So he’s doing another company that will probably not be a raging success, oh well.
It’s weird to me that people hate on Markovich so much these days. He was so ahead of his time in the early/mid 90s, had some amazing video parts going all the way into the early 2000s, and probably has the most video parts of any skater, ever (at least 30). He’s great.

Ehh, that dude obvisouly lives a life he can’t afford and with all those tattoos and no real work history all he has is starting bad companies to avoid getting a job. I honestly can’t imagine he makes more than a lot of the people on here. His arts on the same plane as gonz but he just doesn’t have the personality to back it up.

Three take always from Tony Taves episode I found interesting.
1) nick trapasso is so burnt he let Bandana B handle the business side of L.E. I'm actually shocked it lasted as long as it did. They all have to be someone bummed he ran it into the ground and he destroyed their distribution through Element. ARF 💸💸
2) Element asked him to come back home to which he declined so he could be on LE with the homies. If they wanted him back recently I'm sure he could do some smooth talking to go along with some clips and get back to having a nice check again.
3) he owned a house with a 7k monthly mortgage that he paid w no help from roommates etc. he sold it but still... His checks during his peak must have been massive. Out of all the pros I can think of I never would have thought he would have invested wisely enough to be still living ccmfortable without a steady income and not be worried about money. Good for him.
-
just listened to the Jamie Thomas one. clearly the bunt boys did their research and didn't let jamie rehash the same damn 3.5 hour 9 club interview. i actually enjoyed his bunt one much more, seems like he had fun doing it too.

Some people just have weird reactions to weed no matter how much of chill drug it is, there's a fairly popular current pro that go sent back home by all of his sponsors cuz he made himself crazy from smoking weed. He's better now but when he first came back he seemed like he had one of those neverending bad acid trips, his brain just needed to fix itself over time it was a little creepy cuz it reminded me a lot of people recovering from head injuries.

tony tave is a legend .. one of the best styles ever .. he also reminded me how much i love strubing and what he’s doing with love•sick .. just bought a deck to support that and you should too

Sad hearing how delusional Tave is. The skate economy has changed. That money is not coming back. Step 1 should be find a new line of work.

Crazy to comprehend his level of nonchalant. Dude was probably getting great money at one stage. Even said himself he loved the travelling but that no longer happens. Now his sponsors are his own board brand and two hardware companies. Hope to see a full length part from him again.

Around the time Jordan Taylor finally turned pro for WKND I told Nick on Instagram jokingly that Jordan told me to tell you “You are bald and wack”. In rebuttal to his well known statement to Jordan calling him “Fat and Wack” in an interview. He ended up getting super bent out of shape and went on a crazy rant and blocked me. Good times!

Sounds like his skeleton is too “Dusted” to put out a part.
I had a hard time putting my finger on what his plans were and it sounds like he did too. Even though he runs LE out of his garage it doesn’t like like it’s very profitable as he mentioned multiple times he needs to find a job. Hope the best for him but sounds a little too fried to get focused and put out either a part or fully functional brand.
Really found it interesting to hear about Scott Kane and what it was like skating with him in person... being on point, seeing the switch back feeble in Miami, the phases he went through (rails to ledges), getting a bad surgery that rendered him unable to take any kind of impact anymore. I would love to read or hear an interview with him, preferably chromeballed or Nine Club to get a deep dive into his career.

Especially because the papers are easily the cheapest part of smoking a joint. Couldn’t he use a pop can? I know that the aluminum is not the best for your lungs but at a certain point it’s gotta be easier to smoke than a shoe tissue paper joint.

What state did you buy this edible in? Edibles are often made with the worst weed and/or weed that fails pesticide testing, which makes me curious if any of those factors are really the problem. Some very popular pesticides and fungicides are so awful for us.
