Really enjoyed this movie, I knew nothing about it going into the theater. My girlfriend wanted to see it. Filmed and based in Sacramento where I live, it is quirky, funny, sad, depressing and all around a masterpiece IMO.

This movie is really amazing.

This is my favourite movie of 2017. I realise I'm a few weeks late for this as it hit cinemas weeks ago but this movie is seriously amazing. This is the new standard for dark humour. I feel like this is what mother strived to be.

Honestly, I felt like it was a step back from, and definitely a lot less funny, than The Lobster.

Maybe I'll like it better/get the humor more after a re-watch. I thought the psycho kid pretending to be a hardened smoker was a really funny part.

I haven't seen that yet but I've only heard good things about it. That, along with the bodyhair/menstrutation/'everybody has great hair' talk was great. The initial scene where Steven is talking about his watch with his colleague reminded me of the business card conversation in american psycho, one of the funniest scenes of all time.

Greg Sestero: Tommy, dude, this really isn't necessary.
Tommy Wiseau: No, no! Very necessary. I need to show my ass to sell this picture.

I never watched any of the new DC films, last one I watched was the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. Anyway since me and my girl been watching the marvel movies and are up to date with them we decided to try some of the DC movies.

I know they get a lot of bad rep butt fuck it, just wanted to see if they are really that bad. I mean they couldn't be that bad could they?

Well we watched suicide squad today and I was actually really enjoying it, her too. Then I realized the Viola Davis character basically created the problem in the movie while assembling the task force. Like that's just fucking stupid and just made me completely over it once that happened.

Probably won't watch another DC film except for wonder woman

Ha I thought Suicide Squad was awful from the start, but like whatever you want to like.

I watched it by myself, and was cringing from all those totally on-the-nose musical cues they used for everybody's introduction. It's crazy how many big songs they blew through in the first 45 minutes. Also Jared Leto as the Joker...

Viola Davis, and that Croc-man thing (that they presented in a crazy-racist manner), were my favorite parts.

I actually watched Bright yesterday. It's by the same director, and while pretty problematic and not a good movie, it wasn't as big a mess as I was expecting/hoping.

I was liking Will Smith the most in the movie and that's what kept my attention but then the whole plot was just ruined and then Jared Leto kind of started to piss me off. My girl and I stopped watching it like right when they went into the city to battle

Yeah Will Smith is pretty watchable in most things.
He was surprisingly low on charisma in Bright though.

I watched Raising Arizona for probably the dozenth time today.
It was still super enjoyable.

The Disaster Artist.

I guess I need to see this. Didn't know Franco would win a Golden Globe for this movie.

Anyone else recommend anything that has been nominated from the Golden Globes? The Post? The Shape of Water?

I just saw 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing cleaned
up - you should definitely check that out! It was so good, just ultra-black and very old school Coen brothers in a lot of ways.

One of my favorite movies.
These are worth watching/reading:

The original short film P.T. Anderson made, that Boogie Nights was later based on.

Cool interview with Anderson, about porn and other topics.

Rolling Stone article on the rise and fall of pornstar John Holmes, which Anderson drew heavily from, for Dirk's story.
Super interesting article.

I actually tried watching some of his scenes when I heard about him and was rather disappointed. Must've been some of his later stuff cause that thing was flaccid. Good read though, and Boogie Nights is amazing.

I enjoyed Disaster Artist, but I didn't laugh as much as I expected to.  Dave Franco isn't the actor that his bro is, and The Room itself is way funnier, imo.

Saw Ladybird last night, and sure, it was a cute, charming, coming of age story with believable characters.. But it was also pretty damn boring.  Not that I need tons of drama, but having somewhat of a plot and excitement doesn't hurt.  Maybe watching so much Shameless has affected my expectations of "messed up family" entertainment.  Not saying it was a bad movie by any means, just not the critically acclaimed masterpiece it's being heralded as.

Really excited to watch Three Billboards, though!

Yo "The killing of a Sacred Deer" was phenomenal!!

Also enjoyed, "The Disaster Artist"
"Ladybird" was great but over hyped IMO
"Three Billboards" had a very promising cast, director, premise, but failed to pack the punch it needed for me to feel for Francis' character.

For me, the best movie i've seen in a very long time is "Call me by your name" FUUUUUCK its amazing.  So sad, so beautiful.

Still need to see
"Mother!"
"The Shape of Water"
"Darkest Hour"
"The Florida Project"

My girl and I just watched the remake of IT. I liked it. I feel like the original was way more fucked up and the remake was more scary pop up shit with a little fucked up stuff.

Kids were funny and way better than the original. Probably the only horror film I will ever look to is the part 2 of IT

I would like to say that I was a big boy and didn't get scared at all while watching the remake but uh on a unrelated note my girlfriend is going to spend the night tonight because like there might be ice out or some shit

I watched Good Will Hunting for the first time in like 20 years. It was great, a little over-acted by Damon and Affleck, but it really made me miss Robin Williams.

Wasn't super hyped on Okja. Wasn't garbage but had a weird mix of tones. Watched The Host for the 3rd time afterwards. Still like that one.

Hell Or High Water was good, maybe not as great as I was expecting. Worth the watch though.
