Ive been wearing vans most of my life, my parents wore em, my sister wears em, but im finally over it. Had the last couple pairs i bought new have their sole fall apart and they are now too expensive to buy. What shoes do yall have a deep love for that arent nike or converse? For i hate them the most.

I mostly buy Emericas, Reynolds more often than not but if not then Adi Eases go a long way.
Emericas break in almost too fast but they don't rip super fast.
The Adidas always last a while, only had the soles rip once

I am backing what Es and DC have going on right now.
I have a pair of the Tiago pro model from DC and a pair of Es Accel slims i go back and forth on.
Cup sole guy.

I think the dc matchcourt or whatever is slick looking but im not a fan of the es designs. Gotta like the aesthetic appeal as well.

Looking into emerica, if i wasnt looking for a more core brand i would go with adidas

If you're looking for solid high tops, Etnies Jameson HT's. Just replace the insole.
New Balance stuff is pretty solid too, just try them on in store first since most of their stuff still runs on narrow side of things.
Edit: on the core side Emerica seems to be doing pretty good. Reynolds G6 are considered tanks by many a pal.

these days, anyone skates anything

I just take whatever is on clearance/sale, and switch the insoles (if they suck). HUF, Emerica, Lakai and State is what I mostly get.
The Reynolds shoes are the best in terms of durability, but they do cost $60-80, depending on whether you get the vulcs or cupsoles...don’t know what your budget is but I can’t imagine you spend less than $30-40 on Vans. There are the Reynolds 3 G6 as well, which I haven’t tried, but maybe someone else on here has.

Proper Skateboarding, but I'm biased because it's my company. properskateboarding.com, we're small, run it more like a board brand than a shoe company, they're all cupsoles. States are cool if you are into vulc. I still have a soft spot for DC too, the fit can be weird sometimes but they still make a good shoe. Good luck.
