As an old guy, I hate to admit it, sort of agree with Pastras. You can't help feel insulted everywhere you go these days. I skate the way I do, tricks and style wise, because of my age (39), it is and was organic. Can't say the same for the younger kids.
I do hate the new Stereo though.
'These young whipper snappers doing my tricks is disrespectful! Go throw yourself down some stairs and learn to respect your elders!'
I don't think you guys understand what they are talking about so I'll try to explain it as a semi-older dude.
I don't think Pastras' attitude has to do with being bitter and old. Slappy's, wall rides, power slides, no-complies, etc. are inherently organic spontaneous tricks. In the past when they'd be thrown into video parts they'd spice them up and add some some fun to the part. But now they've become the trendy tricks to do and that changes everything. What was once casual and fun, has now become calculated and contrived. I'm not saying every instance of these tricks = contrived skating. In most cases it doesn't. But I used to like seeing a little casual 180 no-comply at the end of a line, now that shits so played out that the fun is lost.
