I really didn't know there were actually so many 30s guys on SLAP, I kinda thought the stereotype was a myth. But I don't know what other people would really be on here. 12 year olds and retirees?
Anyway I'm 29 and I have probably skated about 3 sessions this year. I've got all sorts of excuses, but I started getting myofascial release massage done last month. I got checked and realized my body is legitimately a little warped from skating. I was walking with one foot straight and one foot a little ducked out, I'm assuming from pushing. One calf is bigger on one leg, and on the other leg, the quad is bigger, and one knee is a little higher than the other. And this weirdness contributes to my persistent upper back and shoulder pain.
Ex. (actually a scoliosis picture but I think it illustrates my point)
My idea is that after a few more sessions my body will be more evened out and I'll start skating again, but I've been running as well. Has anyone gone through anything like this?
