Maybe he did cheat on her, a lot of his posts allude to him being shitty and it's all his fault. On the other hand, though, that's precisely the kind of thing that would make a person more suicidal in this situation. He's obviously wishing he were dead right now, hopefully his friends are smart enough to be dragging him out to go do shit 24/7. Brooding alone usually just makes these things worse. At least he's throwing up cries for help, though, that his friends and family would have to be pretty deaf not to hear, so I assume they're on top of it and doing their best.

One thing about depressed people. A lot of the time the hope that once they get a ton of money they'll finally be happy because they wont have to worry anymore is something that keeps them going. Keeps them pushing. Then once they get that money and realize "wow. I'm still a miserable sack of shit and I have all this money" that is when shit can get serious. It can also make depression worse because then they start to feel ungrateful because they have it better than so many other people but can't squeak out a shred of happiness and it just keeps compounding.

Maybe because I suck at skateboarding and never came close to being pro, let alone sponsored, I've always pondered something...
Some companies and pros seem like a really tight-knit group, which makes compete sense to me. You travel and work with a group of people, you're bound to become pals. In that same stroke of the brush, you're probably going to make sure your pals (who are basically instagram social media influencers, high-level) don't post a bunch of weird shit to make themselves or you look like a kook by association.
I notice a major disconnect with some pros and in turn they've become black-listed/ the pariah of the industry. Moose, Slash, Furby, etc.. Come to think of it, Deathwish kind of has a stigma with dudes getting blacklisted or kooked out of the spotlight. Hmm.... cross post into conspiracy thread about Deathwish being the ring leader in career demise?

I saw slash at Footsie’s in Glassell Park a few days ago. I went up to him and told him I loved his skating and that his Slaughterhouse part was a classic (it isn’t but wanted to say something nice). He laughed and said that part was terrible but seemed mellow and appreciative. Also, dude seemed pretty fit and buff. So he’s either healthy and taking care of his body or trying to work out/off some demons. I hope that brightened up his day a bit. He is obviously suffering and we should all be nicer to each other.

Can confirm this. Some friends of mine were skating with him a couple years ago at a school out there and he had some girl that looked like she was in middle school by everyone’s recollection with him. Apparently it got super awkward when a cop showed up to kick them out. He was also called out on Facebook a while ago by one of these young girls. I didn’t hear about any of this stuff until well after he’d been off deathwish so I’m just going to assume they dodged a bullet letting him go.

I'd buy a Greco board (8.38" or 8.5") but none are available. I've never even considered buying a Deathwish board cuz I don't like their image one bit but all the Greco boards I've seen have mostly looked pretty good and I got inspired to give him some money after seeing and really liking Jobs… Never but alas, no boards available. :-\

I dunno, people who briefly got into skating because of peak THPS it might be the most recognizable. For people who stayed passionate about skating there are many videos that are more remembered from that era alone (Mouse, Welcome to Hell, Misled Youth, Menikmati, Photosynthesis).

I live in the north part of Chile, right next to its Bolivia which its one of the biggest cocaine fabrics and they have access to use our ports for import/export. I always joke about how much of those containers we see go back and forth are probably FULL OF THIS SHIT every single day. That thing must come out their country somehow ;D
Also our salt fabric looks a lot like coke mountains... maybe they are :o

I got ya…
He was living that rockstar life, doing coke and drinking heavily. Then he touched on the depression being from a girlfriend leaving him, and he didn’t dwell on it long here, but it was clear he was pouting over that for a while. Mom called in some wellness checks (police were trying to find him to make sure he wasn’t gonna do any self harm) but he ran from the cops. Cops being cops, they caught him and beat him a bit. Went to rehab, did coke the day he got out. It should be noted the whole time he’s burning every bridge he had in the industry, to the point where he’s calling deathwish and Shane is like “nothing for you here”.
Then he has a health scare with his dad, and go he’s not super close to, and thinks “fuck I’m gonna be on a bender while someone close to me dies and I’m gonna miss saying goodbye” that sounds like it was 6-7 months ago and he’s been sober since. Currently he’s in a softball league where he cheers for good plays on both teams and seems to be in an ok spot.

Nah he definitely said he took some acid. He said he gets a vial of LSD and dilutes it into a spray to stretch it out and that's what he took. That was uncomfortable to listen to but I'm glad he's doing better. I hope he was smart with that ST Archers money.

I smoke cigarettes three days in a row my chest hurts. I drink alcohol 3 days in a row my legs hurt. I smoke weed 2,000 days in a row and while my bank account is low my body feels fine.

I've heard the term "California Sober" for quitting hard drugs and alcohol but still smoking weed and doing psychedelics occasionally. I definitely fit that these days, maybe not sober but clean from hard shit. A million times better experientially compared to being physically and psychologically dependent on heroin/opiates, that's for sure.
Good for Slash. Cocaine is one of the most overrated drugs out there. Not worth throwing your life away for

it’s kelly hart & justin eldridge and they are arguing about the shape of the hubba essentially. justin eldridge skated it 20 years ago & says that it was more round before the contest, suggesting that he thinks thrasher maybe had done some construction on it to make it more squared out/easier to skate & especially grind. kelly says he doesn’t think they did. if anything i would just assume that like any ledge/curb that after nearly 25 years of it being skated it has been ground down enough to give it a bit more of an edge. i hope that makes sense.

I live in a small town in the south of Brazil. People here see cocaine use as something very, very ugly. It's no worse than crack in people's eyes. In fact, the region I live in is the most conservative in the country, marijuana use is also demonized, so cocaine is seen as something terrible. I always stayed away from harder drugs because my grandfather was a gangster and destroyed his nose by snorting, got arrested several times and gave my mother daddy issues. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

i dont think there is any way they could have "did construction on the ledge to make it skate easier". you cant just pour concrete on concrete, it doesnt work like that.
Certainly not without some high profile demo work.

Yeah man i can agree, when that venting on social media is done in less bizarre and alarming way. Doing what hes doing only makes his situation worse because now on top of whatever shit he's upset about, he has to deal with feeling like shit for posting all this strange shit, pictures of that girl, fuckkkkkk, etc.

I agree, but posting “goodbye” in your story is never a good sign, and seems much more than venting. The reoccurrence of his struggles is alarming, and anyone that has contact with him should be prepared to offer a direction for professional help.

Most of the time when people vent on social media it’s because they don’t feel comfortable venting directly to people, probably because they just feel like they’re gonna be a bother, or they feel people might just blow them off if they were to go to them directly, so they will just do it on social media as a way to just get it off their chest and because it lessens the chances of them potentially hitting someone up to vent who will blow them off because those who care will take the time to respond and offer helping words and those who don’t can just ignore it. You ever hit anyone up to vent only for them to completely blow you off? Not a good feeling. It also just feels good to just throw out a vent sometimes just to get it out there, even if no one decides to respond. This is why things like the “things you are not stoked on” thread exists.
I wish him the best in dealing with whatever it is he is going through.
people that vent on social media have the emotional maturity of a child, and this current rant from slash is a perfect example... potential drugs aside, dude needs to grow the fuck up

Slash obviously is battling some serious mental health issues right now, and it’s super similar to what he was going through a few years ago when he was posting this kinda stuff.
I feel bad for the dude. Mental health issues are so complex, and really feel like they control everything in your life, making you do things you wouldn’t do when not in an episode (posting all of this wild stuff) all while feeling completely alone
If anyone knows him, tell him he’s not a lone, that speaking with a professional is the best tool, and if he’s using again, he needs to stop. People with mental health struggles have wild side effects while using any sort of narcotic most of the time. Brain chemistry is a wild thing.
Everyone struggles, but some battles are harder to fight than others, and for some people the seem impossible. Tell your loved ones they’re loved always.
