the nucks WOULD score in over time with possibly the shittiest goal any hockey player could muster.

Word.

Out of respect for the game he shouldn't have taken that shot.

I really hope you're joking.

The canucks were clearly the better team, finishing them off in 5, so don't fucking go and blame it all on the one goal.

In the words of Niemi, "Going down 3-1 in the series is what hurt us, not any one call."

you kids might be too young to remember al iafrate, probably the sickest hair do in all of hockey....he was known as 'the wild thing'....in one game he had a chance at an empty net goal, and instead dumped it into the corner....he was later heard saying....'empty net goals are for fags...'

ya...it was close but the canucks just played better, san jose's offence didn't show up and Vancouver's D was just more deep.  Pretty sure I saw a San Jose pp w. Ian White on it.....you can't have that.

It's always so heartbreaking when a family loses a son.
Which is going to make it all the more devistating when the Sedin's have to bury two, after Chara grinds their bones to make his bread,
and drinks their blood from the stanley cup!

San jose fucking sucks. I'd be so bummed if I was a fan of theirs. Crazy amount of neutral zone turnovers, errant passes, embarassing fanning on shots.

It was a lame way to win though. But it the end luongo madfe it possible to even be playing at that point, it was inevitable really.

Canucks can beat you any way you'd like.

Loving the attitude. Game 7 is going to be impossible to predict, this series has been all over the place. I'm hoping it's going to be another game 3 (2-0 Bruins) win, all they got to do is stay out of the box. On another note, I knew the Canucks would beat the sharks but god damn was that double overtime goal Bieksa put in was just down right mean. Nevermind the fact they scored to tie it up with only 13 seconds left... Sharks, those poor guys.

It was just one goal...the Canucks pretty much swept 'em.  It's true though, you feel bad for Thorton and Marleau, they held up their end for sure.  The Canucks look clearly waaaay better than anything in the east.  At the same time, I saw Boston shit kick them in regular season play.

It's different hockey for sure, whoever the Canucks play I'm sure it's not going to be an easy ride. Tampa's got that 1 - 3 - 1 defense that swept the Capitals. And the Bruins, got to say, are the best 5 on 5 team with a good penalty kill most of the time. If the Bruins power play wasn't 7% and up around 20% like every other team I'd say they'd be unstoppable, but that's just not the case. And unless Claude makes some dramatic changes to the PP line, it's going to stay that way. Kind of surprised to see the Canucks put the Sharks away without a struggle, unlike them in this post season for some reason. I can't fucking wait.

you cant use any stats to compare the two conferences. similar to baseball. one is just way better overall. not to say that canucks cant lose, but they shouldn't.

I listened to that press conference today sounded like eveyrone in manitoba is pretty hyped. Never been to Winnepeg, but hey you win a peg, you loose a peg.

I've made 20$ so far this playoffs betting on san jose and boston. Now i got 10 down on vancouver for the finals so go canucks!!! (i couldnt really give a fuck less who wins besides that 10 banger being down)

yeah, but...

imagine going from playing to a half empty arena to playing in a sold out arena full of fans that are more psyched then ever that you are there.

A sell-out crowd at the MTS Centre will only be 1,600 more people than the Thrashers' average attendance last season.

Even if MTS held the same amount of people as the average attendance in atl, the energy and heart there will be so much bigger. If you are an allstar Winnipeg player, you are going to be a fucking god there. A couple million dollars and hunreds of thousands of die hard fans would make me love living anywhere.

Not saying it wouldn't, just pointing it out. Fans are going to have to translate that passion into dollars for a lot of years before the team really finds its legs there.
