sk8 inspired parody songs
« on: March 21, 2024, 11:47:14 AM »
the lyrical universe of skateboarding lingo is vast and never-ending. because we have so many different words, phrases, and idioms, the catalog of parody songs using skateboarding lingo could be just as vast.

what are the parody song titles that use skateboarding terminology that pop into your head? here are a few of mine:

"Board Control" / "Y Control" by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
"Fell In Love With A Spot" / "Fell In Love With A Girl" by the White Stripes
"Midnight Train To Skate Park Of Tampa" / "Midnight Train To Georgia" by Gladys Knight
"Sussuciu Grind" - "Sussudio" by Phil Collins

lett'r rip, pals!

That reminds me the movie Rad is in theaters again for one day sometime soon. I know it’s not a skate movie, but at that time, skateboards were only available at BMX shops, at least Where Im From. Was my personal doorway into skateboarding.

Well played! Literally laughed out loud.

When me and my buddies were drinking in random bars quite often they would play this song. We would used talk and drink, then shout "Chris Miller" three times and then continued like nothing happened. Ah the good old times!

This is fun. Micky Papa Don't Preach is my favorite so far. I'll add some more.

The night they drove Antwuan Dixon down - The Band

Switch 360 flip over fisheyed water - Simon and Garfunkel K-pop remix featuring Jake Johnson

Tearing in my part - Sunny Day Real Estate

Dark slide on the moon - Pink Floyd

SOTY killed the full video star - The Buggles

All along the water tower - Bob Dylan (Jeremy Wray remix)

SOTY push ‘til November - Wyclef Sean

Frankly, Mr. Spanky - The Smiths

The loneliness of the mega ramp rider - Iron Maiden

Crailtap I'm gonna leave you - Led Zeppelin

I can't land you baby - Led Zeppelin

I'm waiting for the make - Velvet Underground cover by filmers and photographers all over the world

Another brick in the head - Danny Way or Josh Swindell (disputed)
