Yeah you don't get it.

I doubt an old skate video could be the best. Those guys barely did any hard tricks. I bet there's not a single switch dolphin flip to back smith to double kickflip body varial out in that video. A recent Nike or Plan B video is the real number one.

Sorry was knocked out by Welcome To Hell.

They posted each bracket on Instgram for a couple days then count the votes and declare a winner for that match and move on down the bracket. I wanted YEAH right or fully flared to win but yeah Videos Days deserves it.
-
Fortunately, Photosynthesis holds an honorable second place, and I’m happy with that. I think the brackets are pretty fair in that regard.
-
I personally believe the correct answer should be Questionable, but I would have put Video Days second, so I’m still happy. Photo would be in my top 5.
-
Ok boomers
Sorry is light years ahead of video days.

Sick, in a substance sense
-
I have my top 3 as:
Questionable
Hokus Pokus
Rubbish Heap
It's all preference, but I almost feel like saying "Video Days is the best video ever", is just the same as "I like punk, thus I like the Ramones/Sex Pistols" or something generic and predictable at this point. You will get points from the older generation and seem like you have some knowledge of skate history (if you are a yung bucc).
-
Would like to see it without all the names crossed out.

I'm generally curious how Welcome to Hell is better than Mouse. Seems like it would be a good debate.
Menikmati should be up there...Lots of classic videos missing.

My guess is .. the big rails vs tech ledge skating. That said, I prefer Mouse by a lot.

Sorry is the greatest video.

Sorry is light years ahead of video days.
Nah. Not even close. If there has to be a best video Video Days deserves that title. Everyone including Jordan ripped and the music is perfect. It’s also the perfect length. Blind during this time was absolutely the coolest company out . Flip has never been that cool.

the beauty of skateboarding is that it is a purely subjective art form

Oh give me a break lol. Not even close?? You’re tripping. Sure, for its time video days was great but best of all time no way. Skateboarding has come a long way since then. Sorry has much more replay value.

If I pop the sorry video in I’m hitting the fast forward button on every little skit, cartoon or that annoying fucker they have talking throughout the video.
Way too much of that trash in that video for me to waste anytime watching it. Not to mention the Tom penny part was extremely disappointing at the time. Sorry.

Agree to disagree. I respect your opinion though.

When people think of Welcome to Hell they think Jamie Thomas big rails but there are so many good parts. Brian Anderson, Ed Templeton, Elissa Steamer, Mike Maldonado, Satva, Donny Barley, an excellent friends section.
Mouse is more of a one trick pony. Lots of ledge lines. Great vibe and songs though. Guy in Mouse beats anything in WTH though.
Tough call but I can see how WTH could edge Mouse out.
-
If Muska's part had been included in WTH, I could see it winning the whole thing.

I like mouse and welcome
To hell quite a bit. I do remember that welcome to hell was the video that changed skateboarding more though at the time. Plus it was the first video that had a woman skater in it that was actually a ripper. Not a Jamie Thomas fan though. He seems really intense and I really wish muska was in it.

I'll take Questionable over Video Days, but I completely get why it won. Hard to compare videos across distinct eras.
I'd take Mouse over WTH, but I'm not going to go crazy at someone who has a differing opinion.
-
Maldonado's part in Welcome to Hell is the best. That's all I'll add.

I'm genuinely curious as to why people love Photosynthesis so much. Could anyone fill me in, please?

It’s artsy, it’s gritty, it’s cohesive, has good music, and great skating.

A lot of great East Coast plaza/ledge skating when so much of the industry was California Rail-Skating. As someone who grew up in a cold-weather city off a great lake, the spots they skated were much more relatable than Cali rails with perfect run-ups. There were obviously great east coast videos before that such as EE3, but it felt like the first major video from a big brand that was predominately East-Coast spots between Kalis, Dill, Pops, Wenning and most of the Habitat section.
-
No eastern exposure 3 or second hand smoke?
Cheese and crackers or the dylan gravis vid would be cool.
If barbarians at the gate is on there, they deserve a mention.

ee3 was beaten by Yeah Right. I voted for EE3 but I understand it losing.

i deffo prefer east coast skating, i guess i just really dislike early-2000s aesthetic of baggy clothes (especially white dudes), crooks everywhere, and run-of-the-mill trick selection. habitat section was solid, but the rest had choppy editing, and i highly disagree that it was cohesive (obviously, a matter of opinion).
this honestly seems more like a case of needing to exist in the context. i started skating in this era but missed this video, and i don't think most of the non-ledge skating holds up well, honestly. seems like maybe nostalgia's a big factor?

If none of the brackets featured Spirit Quest then this should be voided.

Interesting and engaging art direction. Well edited and sequenced. Tasteful use of super 8. Varied but well chosen music. Classic Dill ender. AVE. Young Pops and Wenning. Getz. Tim O' Connor. Danny Garcia nollie flip noseslide hubba and everything else he does. Kalis killing it at love, classic tre over the trash can. Street skating looking as good as ever.
-
No Baker 2g or Menikmati? Weird not to have them but include Dying to Live (still sick but nothing compared to 2g or Menikmati)
-

It was there but lost wayyyy to early. Beat converse purple round 1 but lost to H street hokus pokus in round 2.
-
I realize they're pretty handrail/stair-centric, but both Dying to Live and New Blood not making the bracket is criminal. Jon Allie's part in New Blood alone should get it on the board.

Mouse has more forgettable parts than WTH and the skits are not as cute as they thought. Guy’s part might be better than anything in WTH though. Think WTH spawned more enduring pros. It’s tough but I give it to WTH

my vote to Tincan Folklore

Eastern Exposure

why the fuck can't i post anythingp

20 shot should top 5.

Hard to choose. Questionable and Video days are definitely up there along with Yeah right imo. I'll give an underrated shoutout to Transworld The Reason though.
