Yes. I got briefly sucked in around 2015 because I was interested in reading about JFK and 9/11. But, that's how they get you. I thought they're just kidding around. But when I realized it was all an interconnected package of propaganda, and not just random unrelated stuff, I stopped viewing those kinds of boards and came out of my trance.

There's a board on Reddit that's about QAnon recovery. I was never around for the QAnon stuff but it seems a little too outlandish to get into. You have to be a real dumbass to believe the shit about elite satanists drinking baby blood. Reminds me of the 80s Satanism scare and killer bees and stuff like that.

This same shit happened to me, but it was more that my best friend was diving deep into the 4chan ironic nazi shit and i was a vaguely left leaning libertarian type. We were roommates and he pushed away all of our other friends and then me after he started listening to the daily shoah and threatened me with a knife. Really tough losing that friendship but it definitely radicalized me and shaped who i am now.

I'm glad you got out, it's less lonely and paranoid out here

Yeah i was mostly trying to drink and smoke my loneliness away and had a laissez-faire attitude about what was happening around me and who i was surrounding myself with. It also helped that i had black and Jewish friends so i didn't fall into scapegoating people blindly. It's a lot harder to write off an entire race when you know someone in your life who's experienced actual prejudice. The appeal to "tradition honor and blood" or whatever dog whistles they use now don't hit as hard when you just developed a critical view of another giant institution like a church as well
