On my second pair of Tyshawns, never really been an adidas guy but these skate so good. Like that they're mid top but dont look super mid-top-ish, bout to order another pair.

I’ll buy the same pair of shoes over and over all the time, as a matter of fact once I find a shoe I like I’ll try to stick with it for a while, I like to stick with what I know Ill already like.

Westgate's Emerica shoe was the last shoe they made that I really liked and I had maybe 5 pairs.
-
Once I like a shoe I bought the hell of them until don´t make the anymore, like if they keep them coming I can skate them for life.
The first shoe I was convinced to buy for life was the Lakai Manchester, the one with cupsole, had like 5 pairs, I never saw those again, a real bummer.
The other shoe is the Converse sumner, I really loved those shoes, I had like more than 10 pairs in the past years, having a roomie sponsored by converse was helpful, had many colorways and love them all, the last pair I bought it a year ago in a sporting good shop and make them to bring me a pair in my size from a another store outside the city. I see them less online and not in my size, so no more sumner for me.
The last year I saw a pair of Blazer low NBA in sale and they´re to cheap to not buy them, so I tried and had my first pair of nikes in my life and I liked them, recently had another pair in another sale of course, so I think Ill be a blazer low guy for now.

Adidas pro model high tops. They might be the first pair of shoes I've found that don't need a few days to break in to accomodate my flat feet.
-
Bought 4 or 5 pairs of the deconstructed blazers. Those shoes skate really well and gave me a little support for my brittle glass ankles.
-
Been skating chukka lows for the last 100 or so shoe purchases. Need vulcanized and wide up by the toes.

Was on a Dunk kick for a bit then I soured on them. Too fat, flat, and the grip kinda sucked when it wasn’t gum rubber.
Went heavy on the Nike Angus for a while. I loved that shoe except the sole would go bald fast and when the upper was synthetic it took forever to break in. I think I was the number one purchaser on size 11 Anguses on eBay.
Reynolds Low. I would have stuck with that one forever - with Angus insoles.

I'm a creature of habit and if I like something I'll skate just that for a long time.
I skated so many pairs of the first vans rowley shoe. It was my favorite. I want to try the rapidweld version. I also have skated a ton of halfcabs and slipons throughout the years. I have skated a few old skools and sk8-his but really not that many.
I've skated a ton of adidas superstars. I wish the superstar adv vulc was more readily available again.
I skated a ton of the Cory Kennedy nike shoe that came out. If you have a pointier kickflip, you make a groove in the toecap that makes kickflips feel sooooo nice.
I have skate a whole bunch of the GT blazers. I'd guess like 7 pairs. I'm just finished skating my third pair in a row back in June and moved on to the vans Rowans and they feel really good. I can see myself buying multiple pairs of Rowans in the future.
-
Half Cabs, Lakai Staple 2
-
Adidas Suciu ADV, i bought twice and then imported some from germany. they have the best gel insoles as well.
-
The first Emarica Hsu - fuck I loved that shoe.
Emerica Reynolds cruisers
Chilling - Vans authentics, countless amounts
-
Huf Dylan Slip, Sutter, Austyn
Vans old school pro 30+ times, authentic pro, Gilbert 2
I've not been a huge fan of the huf dylan slips as the tongue slides down a little and leaves a weird fold near the bottom which presses on my foot. Love the paced pair though, had a fair few of them.

100% truth is there are to many shoes that i would still like to try or have tried. One that is absolutely stuck in my head for another buy is NB 255s though, i enjoyed the shit out of my first pair a couple of year back and the 440s has been so good to me.

-
I-Path Grasshoppers: 4-5 pairs in black leather, 2-3 pairs of dark blue leather, one pair of rasta colored suede and a pair of light brown suede ones.
That’s all I wore for almost 4 years.
Also:
6 pairs of Reynolds 3’s. They didn’t last long but skated like a dream. I miss this shoe.
Probably more but these are the first two that come to mind.
I wish the Grasshopper still existed.

had 3 or 4 pairs of the Reynolds 2, probably all time favorite skate shoe. That point in time i was also trying to get a pair of ES Koston 3s but never had my size at the shop. Crazy when you still see mint pairs of the K3 floating around on insta for crazy dolla amounts.....
-
Etnies Maranas, I've had 3 pairs. I had 4 different pairs of eS Accel silhouettes over the years. My favorite were the 15th anniversary editions and the Accel 3G Hi's.
-
Half cabs and Dylan slip ons
-
I know I had a few pairs of the eS Muska shoe as a kid.
Right now I'm on my second pair of Osiris Relics - Great shoes.
-
Half cabs. Most frustrating and inconsistent skate shoe of all time.
Adidas Gonz Pro slip ons. Favorite skate shoe of all time for fit and feel.
I rarely like any shoe enough not to want to try something different next time.
-
Shit tons of Rowleys
-
accels back when i was young.
had two pairs of emerica templetons i think.
half cabs a few times.
old skools every now and then when i can find them cheap.
i skated two pairs of dc pures.
pretty much get a pair or two of blazers every year so far, two times gt lows. had two pairs of dunks, but only grs.
went through 3 pairs of g-codes and two leos(the first campus vulc like ones).
i have bought a few pairs of slip-ons, eras and authentics as well, but never intent to skate them, but inevitably do at some point, to the detriment of my feet.
actually had two pairs of koston nikes if you count the air max tooling version as the same shoe, which it basically is.
actually been skating mostly blazers for years now until i got the new tiagos and i think i will buy more tiagos in the future, excellent shoe. also i kind of don't want to fuck with nike anymore. spent enough money on the swoosh, even though i'm not really a fan. blazers are just great and dunks are very comfy. a lot of times i purchased a blazer like shoe of some other company and was disappointed. nowadays i don't even want to skate vulcs anymore though.
-
Half-Cabs - Been a consistently great shoe for me
Sk8-his - Don't wear those anymore, too thin and flimsy
Adidas Busenitz - Had one pair that was great, the pair I have now sucks
DC Kalis OG - Had a pair years back. Currently have a pair of the Butter Goods reissue that I really want to skate
Nike SB Gino FC in silver/white/grey/gum - These were great the first time around, but I recently bought an older pair and the heel's coming off. This is after I took them to a cobbler to make sure the the sole was glued to the shoe. Probably a lost cause now
Edit - Forgot to mention the Adidas Silas SLR and the Supra Elevate. Oddly enough the SLR wasn't as good the second time around, and the Elevates I bought have this weird heel that's sticking out at the back.
That's about it, I switch my shoes up all the time which probably does more bad than good.
-
old skool pros, like everyone else, since they mold to my feet well and the laces go down to the toe box.
only thing missing is ventilation, but the cure for sweaty feet is wool socks believe it or not.
-
Bunch of Dunk Mids when they were available
4 Pairs of Blazers
8-9 pairs of the PRod 7, possibly more. skated that shoe almost exclusively for 2 years straight
4 pairs New Balance 533 V2
4 pairs of eS Accel Slim Mid (only because they're dumb cheap on sale and one of the few midtop options out there)
Will probably end up skating more pairs of the Tyshawn and NB 1010 & 913's
-
Blazers, Tyshawns, Rowans.
-
I bought the 'Stand Up, Speak Up' FC's in both colorways, black and white back in 2004 or '5. I customized them and sold them. That's the only time I've bought more than one pair of the same shoe at the same time
-
Throughout the Years:
Fallen Rippers - 2
First skate shoes ever, loved them, but need to try other things. Looking at the new ones to try but got to many back up and shit I need to burn through.
Supra Vaiders - 3
Highschool Days, Fun shoe to skate but never realized that I was buying a half size too big for me.
New Balance 533 - 3
Bought the first two pairs for dirt cheap, skated through 1 but then my feet started giving out so gave away one and kept the 3rd as chillers. V2 was much better and should've bought more.
New Balance 598 - 2
Bought around the same time as the 533's, Pretty sure these are what did my feet in, too narrow and half size up was too big, and end up giving away both pairs.
New Balance 288 - 2
First pair bought half size too big, tried skating them and foot just kept slipping around. Did burn through them though. Got a second pair and made the mistake of getting that weird New Balance leather upper thing they had. Hated that upper, but powered through and burned them out. Loved the look of them though and curious about the 288S.
New Balance 420 - 2
First pair skated through a half size too big, so gave it away when they stretched out too much, second pair bought the right size, but use them as chillers or back up skate shoes. Honestly loved how these skated once I swapped insoles. Might start skating these again as I've been wearing them more often these days.
New Balance 913 - 3
A bit Narrow but if these shoes aren't great. Laced them up in ways to accommodate my my wide feet and first pair lasted 6 months. Have the other 2 as standbys as I know they're great, but I'm a tester at heart so wanted to try out other stuff while knowing these are there if I ever need them.
Etnies Jameson HT - 2 (3?)
Probably the best high top I've ever skated, and probably the best shoe I skated when getting back to skating. Another shoe that's Durable af, and the sole burned through before the upper did. Bought them when they were being phased out for the cheap and have the other two chilling as back ups or might give them to family that also starting to skate again. Change the insole asap.
Emerica Wino Slip - 2
Bought them for the cheap and liked how they skate with Fps and It was a minute since I skated slips. Burned through one pair and use the other pair pretty much as one of my dailys.
CONS CTS - 3
Bought first pair and loved them back in the high school days. Bought 2nd pair when I just got back into skating but burned through the canvas super quick, and wasn't feeling the insole. 3rd pair I skate from time to time but wanted to try other things. Use them as chillers.
Been fighting the urge to pick up new shit as I already have hella shoes that I need to burn through, evidence by what I posted up top. Haven't been skating much so it's taking even longer to get through shit.

I feel like people are just replying to this thread with their own lists of shoes rather than actually participating in any sort of discourse...
-
Vans era, authentics, and slip ons. The China model.
Habitat shoes were good.
The hufs that looked like old schools.
The dan Drehobel vox pro model. I think the second one?
-
Through the decades.
As a kid, Mom bought multiple pairs of those VSW with the rubber toe. They were from TJ Maxx, so cheaper than the skate shop.
BPSW era, I had at least 10 pairs of Puma Clydes. Every color.
Couple pairs each Airwalk One and Jim.
Etnies Sal 23
Dukes (did they make more than one shoe? the Jeremy Wray one)
ES Koston 1
KCKs
Does multiple free pairs count? I worked in the industry from '99 to '03. And maintained those contacts afterwards. For a good 2 or 3 years I skated nothing but 88 Markovich shoes.
Then I had a friend who worked for Black Box. So I'd get discounted Fallens. There was this one JT shoe that I loved. I think it was called the Rival. Couple years straight in that.
Shortly after began my Reynolds infatuation. That lasted 5 or 6 years. First his Emerica Low model. Then the G6. Maybe 10 to 15 pairs of each. This just recently ended.
I really like having a go to shoe. Once I find something that works, I stick with it. It's one less thing to think about then.
I've been experimenting lately. Trying to find that next go to. And I'm pretty sure I found it. The Etnies Joslin. So far I'm just on my first pair. But I will be getting more.
-
Etnies Maranas, I've had 3 pairs. I had 4 different pairs of eS Accel silhouettes over the years. My favorite were the 15th anniversary editions and the Accel 3G Hi's.
Wow. Never seen those before. Definitely what es should be doing instead of the bullshit they’re on now.

For me, it's exciting to think about what I was into over all the time I've been skating. I definitely get swept up by hype, so for a shoe to actually fit the bill is pretty rad. Having said that, there are a couple of times where I have been fooled twice.
P.s. my name is not bill, it's Craig. I missed where the crailtap Craig shit came from, so all that feels like a personal affront.

Like many others I have to say that the Busenitz are my top most skated shoe at around six pairs - had the vulcs once and absolutely hated them
Sambas - three pairs of the actual non-skate ones, one pair of the skate ones (which were ironically much worse feeling IMO)
Reynolds 2 and Accels back in the day
On my third pair of Koston 3s right now and I gotta say that for the amount of hate they got they're really my favorite shoe of the last 5 years. Got my last pair for about $35 used
On my second pair of NB#440's right now and I feel like I def be getting more of these as well.
-
I feel like people are just replying to this thread with their own lists of shoes rather than actually participating in any sort of discourse...
well, one thing i wondered for sure is, that some people only skated the same shoe model twice or three times? i think i had this year alone 4 blazers (and in between other shoes)
-
accel, halfcab, old skool, rowley classic, tom penny 2, no skool, howard 5, howard select, soca 2, mj-3, reynolds 2, leo romero 1 were great too.
-
in all my years i had a bunch of shoes more than once.....recently the tyshawns and the copa nationale- had to go half size down in the copa and superglue the seams in the toe and now they skate really well!
-
Too many to remember but the ones that I have fond memories are Half cabs. I skated 13 pairs in a row for one year. It was beautiful, you could find them so damn cheap at that time here. Both classics and pros.
Honorable mentions I can remember: ave pros, slip on pros, blazers mid, walker pros and that's it I think.

I thought everyone did this. I like trying different boards and wheels, but once I find a shoe that works I stick to it. My ankles are too precious to fuck around with different shoes.
At least x5 pairs of the first Emerica Leos (every model after the first sucked)
A couple of pairs of Reynolds Cruisers (these changed and became terrible)
About x5 pairs of the first run of Adidas campus before they changed the fit (like the brown Silas colorway)
More than x5 pairs of Blazer Lows before the quality went to shit
x5 pairs of Adidas Skates (was bummed when this one was discontinued)
x3 pairs of Vans Rowley SPVs (if this shoe was a tiny bit wider it would've been perfect)
More than x10 pairs of Habitat Austyns (probably the perfect shoe)
More than x10 pairs of Habitat Expos (another favourite)
x5 pairs of Habitat Garcias (very good)
x10 pairs of Vans Slip on pros (my old faithful now)
and finally now I'm on the NB 212. On about my 5th pair in a row with another 5 waiting.
Can't see myself skating anything else other than the 212. I've come back full circle to court shoes. Before I did this I skated any old shoe. Does anyone else do the ankle roll test with shoes? I don't know how people can just skate any shoe without considering how the sole performs. I've sworn off so many shoes because of this.
I run a shoe until they discontinue it or change something about it. Keep the 212 as it is please @rothdigga. I haven't been stoked on a shoe like this in quite awhile.
Noted. I don't think we're planning on making any changes to it as it's done super well for us and is almost identical to the same one they've had at NB since 1978 or something.
-
I shed a little tear looking up these colorways and remembering how good the fucking shoe was. @EmericaTM My g get your shit together and add some shoes like these to the lineup. Not everyone likes or is willing to pay for vulc shoes with soles that fade out super fast. (I know the Spanky G6 is a cupsole but is not as "tech").

Right now I'm on a Kalis S streak and I love the shoe and think it's ideal but I hate the fact that the middle lace loops are exposed and once they rip you can't tie your shoe properly. Still might cop another pair since it's the first shoe Ive felt is as good as the Herman G6. @DGKALIS Tell that to the guys at DC, it's pretty much the only defect on this beast of a shoe

Really don't want to hijack the thread but there is also the Figgy Dose, Romero Laced, Romero Americana, Alcove CC. Anyways, I agree with you and happy to say that we've got about 5 or 6 new cupsole models dropping over the next year or two.
Growing up I had a lot of Reynolds 2, Reynolds 3, Accels, Rowley XLT, Ellington 1 & 2 and The Tilt.
Edit- Added my list

About 20 pairs of Lakai Manchester's for me. Now I'm hyped that they are back. The XLK outsole holds a long time. At least for me.

Yeah and not one of those is in any way similar to the type of shoe Im referring to (Figgy Dose/Alcove CC being the closest but still not close enough). Hopefully there are a few models coming with that type of profile! I really want to skate Emericas again.

Recently, I’ve bought a shitload of NB# 306’s
Past, I Deff went very hard on the rowley XLT3 and janoski’s
-
Lots of people mentioning Huf Dylans, I forgot I've skated a ton of those too. One of the most inconsistent shoes ever, got them in size 10 every time but each color fit differently, some too loose to skate at all. When snug enough they're great.

Those Herms were the shit. I miss having more of the old tech yet simple looking shoes like the Reynolds and Hermans because these changed the game when Emerica was doing all those thin shoes for so long.
-
Supra Stacks when they were still TK's color way. Pretty simple shoe, but lasted me months when I was skating heavy.
Supra Vaider lows. A little more cushion. Than the stacks and looked more like going out shoes which I liked.
Old Skool. I get a pair for Christmas every year
Adi Ease and the Busenitz. Just a couple of good ass models.
Emerica Wino G6. Last longer than Vans Eras and look like a ripoff.

I bought two pairs of those Hermans. My experience was that the toe boxes were awkward and floppy and they bagged out quick but the navy w/ gum sole colorway was so goddamn beautiful. Looking at that image of them gives me happy thoughts.

Janoski air max 1. Not so much for flip tricks because they tear super fast, but what an amazing shoe. Never tried the 2’s but The Nike outlet(since closed) used to have them all the time for $20-$30. And once a month all shoes were 20% off. They actually closed the store just before the covid shutdown. Not that they knew it was coming but it definitely closed in mid January despite being a very popular store. It was an actual “clearance” store so seeing cars from illinois(6+ hours away) filling up the car with dozens of pairs of Jordan’s was totally common. Lots of seconds or display shoes but seriously good deals.
Anyway, yeah, the janoski max 1. Good shoe.

I had a lot of Lakai Griffins, Daly's / MJs, and Rileys. Kinda got a little OCD and really liked that sole and they treated me well. Had easily 10 pairs of the MJs and Rileys each.
Aside from that, blazers.

*cracks knuckles and does hand stretch thing*
Etnies Marana: 17 at this point. Skated about 6 of those pairs at least (pre and post Michelin soles)
Etnies Joslin: 13 pairs. Tied with being my favorite shoe next to the Maranas.
These two are my go-to and home base for skate shoes, so that's why I stocked up lol.
Emerica Reynolds G6: 5. Got the gold ones they did for him leaving! Wish I snagged a couple more since that's been Emerica's best shoe since the previous Reynolds Low/Mid and Herman G6 were axed.
Emerica Hsu (the nice midtop ones): 2 or 3 I think. Best shoe for me before the Marana came along. Got 1 left to swoon over.
Nike SB Dunks: 15. Some I skated and others I will skate. Some could be money makers though, but I want to skate them! I'll post a photo in another thread if anyone is interested 8)
Nike SB Blazer Mids: 8. Skated half of these straight a few years back. Lance Mountain blues I am still holding on to. *heart eyes*
eS Accel Slim (really good to skate with good insoles but isn't super durable), Accel OG before I realized they weren't as good as I thought they were going to be...
Vans Halfcab and Halfcab Pro.
I am sure there were a couple others I bought more than once over the years but can't remember right now.
Definitely had a shoe crisis a couple years back and wanted to try everything because life is short! But also because I was compensating for a decline in skate ability/time to skate, so SHOES MUST BE THE ANSWER! no.. not entirely. It was me, it was always me.
Quick PSA: it's cool to enjoy gear and stock up to some degree, but definitely try to be mindful with time you can devote to actually skating the gear you buy/hoard. It might deteriorate if you wait too long, or maybe your foot changes shape/size over time, or maybe vulcs hurt like fuck, so you can only skate cups now, etc. I am not your parent, so do what you want, but just want to share an experience from someone who went too far experimenting..

truth af. i bought a pair of es shoes at a 55% discount for my winter skate shoe and shortly after, i deep fried my ankle and now i cant skate for at least the rest of the year, let alone walk normally. my current shoes are still at like 90%, too and i got 2 decks and a pair of stage viii's ready to go. whatever, fuck it. lifes a bitch and then you die.
