Title: Favorite subtle thing from a part?
Post by: Gnarfunkell on July 14, 2018, 09:32:01 AM
I was just rewatching Dylan's A Time to Shine part, and forgot how much I love the way he pumps into the little ollie he does at 3:04 :

www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJphOpoHiQY

I'm a sucker for that sort of thing, so hopefully you all have other good examples.  :-*

I liked that part so much that my username on Runescape was Boomboom11.. ahahahahaha

I love ricardo fonseca's "fuck it" nollie heel before kicklfipping that big ass gap at 3:29.  this whole greece section has a lot of "subtle" things that make the whole thing awesome.  The entire bon appetit video does.

I've always loved all the subtleties in Penny's Miniramp runs from 411's Europe 1996. The front truck briefly touching the coping on the Bs 5-0, the quick Rock after the 5-0 to Fakie, how he does the Nollie Rock..

There is another clip of him skating that Miniramp from the same year, where he casually pulls back his hair right before one of the best Kickflip to Fakies ever.

I've been thinking about starting a thread along the lines of "little things that make the clip even better (little skate moments that aren't actual tricks)," so I'll just add my choices to this. I don't know if they're subtle or not.

Gino: Yeah Right- not-nollie after the back 360

Not a skate part but in a The Office episode, Pam is talking to Jim by the vending machines (he’s dating Karen at the time), Pam is talking about rem sleep, she sounds like she had a cold (love the cuteness in her voice there) and does this little thing with her tongue and mouth when talking, I love that part.

He's actually pointing at Max Schaaf. I think Max randomly happened to come by that rail as Cardiel was there skating.

This is a good thread, one of my favourite subtle things was in Boulala's Sorry part, where there's a quick clip of a man getting his head bandaged while pointing at something unknown.

I'm glad you all posted that shuv thing because there's actually something else in this part that always stuck at to me. At 3:28, the song changes into an echo as he rolls into that underground tunnel. A pretty awesome subtle edit that I thought was super cool.

In Ryan Gallant's "First Love" part, when he throws the basketball from centre court, and the the transition into the next line, the basketball transitions perfectly into a leaf on the ground at the spot. https://youtu.be/J-VRq4iRI8c?t=111 (https://youtu.be/J-VRq4iRI8c?t=111)

This is a good thread, one of my favourite subtle things was in Boulala's Sorry part, where there's a quick clip of a man getting his head bandaged while pointing at something unknown.

That's hands down my favourite clip in any skate video. So many unanswered questions that I'm not sure I want to be answered.

I thought that was sick when it first came out, kinda made it look like it was improvised first try like a subtle “im goin that way off that shit right now”, but as time goes on i think that its kinda lame unless it was actually improvised first try because he didnt know where he was gonna go after.
