You know you've been skating for a VERY long time....
* When you actually know who Steve Rocco is.
* When somebody talks about the first Reynolds shoe you say "what that ain't old, I remember when he didn't have a shoe sponsor and used to skate in cut off Vans".
"They only live to get radical."

...my first memory of any board with any kind of "kick nose" was that chris miller board with the drawing of the dog, from late '88/early '89. funny that it was a vert guy.

That was the first pro deck that I ever bought!   Those were... good... times!  :'(

*if you played 720
*if you had Mini Ribs
*if you remember Gonz doing a switch method at Savannah Slamma
*if you owned Skate Rock vinyl
*if you kept a skate key in your hip pack
*if you ran Limpies
*if you skated the first Air Jordans but your feet were too small so you had to get Sky Jordans
*if you know who Liens airs, Smith grinds, and Miller flips are named after.
*if you drilled holes in your board to put on rails.
*if you remember Clawz
*if you dreamed of riding one of the Experimental boards from PP.
*if you wore Sk8-His before the suede was added to cover the "ollie area"
*if you know all the words to Tommy Guerrero's Animal Chin rap.
*if you remember what your hands looked and smelled like after reading an issue of Thrasher.

this could go on for awhile. also, my first memory of any board with any kind of "kick nose" was that chris miller board with the drawing of the dog, from late '88/early '89. funny that it was a vert guy.

this list is awesome, i'd go as far as to say if you've heard of Savannah Slamma though

and WTF, natas did a switch method and people actually noticed? i remeber seeing a clip here not so long ago of gonz skating a mini in the 80s and he ollies this huge gap in the ramp which ended up being this classic gonz photo. well when i watched the clip now, i realized how gnar he was as he had some switch shit in there that i never would have noticed back in the day.

How about bridgebolts (Grind King) or U-bolts?
[close]

haa.. had those!

didnt expedition try to reinvent that? i could swear they had some wacky bolt thing for awhile

Expedition had some decks with the threads built into the holes on the deck.  Pretty weird.

I had those bridge bolts.  wtf.  So brutal.  Companies came out with them in both sizes.  Across the board and down the length of the board.

I saved up to get a G&S Bill Tocco deck because he won a mini-ramp contest and I just finished mine.
Started skating in '87 and saw Lance in BBVS and that changed my life!
Rain had no affect on wheather I skated or not.
Saw Mike V and Jason Lee at a demo in '90 and realized I would never make it to that level.
All my friends and I would skate yelling "who...who...Matt...who Matt Hensley...oh he's on his way to the store!"...in retrospect we were probably annoying.
When I was a senior there were these 2 little kids that would try to tag along with us wherever we were going and were super annoying....turned out to be Forrest Kirby and Danny Gonzales.

Oh the good old days!!!!
BTW that's why my shop is called Goodtimes.

You remember:

Cell Block IIIs on the back truck.
When pressure flips weren't a dork trick.
Cutting your high tops into low tops.
Barker Barrett used to have hair.
Z-Rails and Z-Skinz
When Spitfires were new.

A few Hawaii ones which I'm sure some older guys can add to:
Thinking Aala Park was better without all the obstacles they added at first and/or having to sit on the fence while Mullet Lady 'locked the park'.
Needing a bag or pillowcase to cover your board when riding The Bus.
Skating Taxis.
Cobra and his Cobra Combos.
The 'High Ollie Contest' at the Blaisdell or maybe the contest the year before with the Y Ramp and Gonz ollied the channel.
