I live in sonoma county and am wondering if anyone knows of any good stuff to skate out here that I havnt heard of?
-
I grew up in sonoma county, & still visit fairly often. Most of the stuff we used to skate in the old days is gone now, sadly, but there's still some decent stuff. This spot is in Petaluma (my home town) & is always super fun:
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJTcP3JAbT0#)
Santa Rosa Junior College has been a pretty good spot for decades now...
Obviously, there's Novato High (famous double set).
Let me know what kind of stuff you're looking for & I'll see if I can steer ya...

there's a couple new foundation spots that are alright. one in santa rosa off cleveland. the other in petaluma next to the river.
-
What's the petaluma foundation spot? Didn't know about that one...

Santa Rosa park and Petaluma park are 2 of the coolest and most unique parks in the world. Like no other parks I've skated, and super fun. Just don't expect to do normal shit you would do.
-
The Petaluma park has pretty much totally been abandoned to bikers at this point - it's crazy. The last few times I've been there, there was not a single skateboarder in sight.
Sort of sad when I think of all those City Hall meetings I went to as a kid, where we all begged the city to build us a park. Little did I know that 20 years later, my biggest problem would be getting my skate bros to skate somewhere OTHER than a park... I guess the moral is be careful what you ask for...: )

Yeah santa rosa park is actually kinda sketchy, petaluma park is fuckin sick ive skated it once but yeah its true its mainly used by bikers now
-
That kinda makes sense considering how its built, but I don't give a fuck, that place is way too fun

next to the river? that spot is fucking legit. i have no idea who made that but they knew what they were doing. santa rosa park is my favorite recently. after ten years of skating it i think im finally starting to understand it, and it's really fun.

who's organizing the sonoma county skate date?
-
Even though i started this thread healdsburg is really fun to skate their is lots of really cool house gaps and things, and the downtown is filled with really expensive archeticture it is always fun just to cruise around there but the skate scene has kind of died becuase the skate shop there closed down four months ago.
