Got this on my front page today and was pleasantly surprised, some pretty gnarly stuff. This is the vid Eric Bragg's been working on apparently so it definitely feels like a skate vid.

Very interesting how this hits all the same notes as a skate video.
Even down to the Strobeck filming and roll-away poses (waiter arms, Larry Perkins/Dime gangster leans, safety hands, etc).
Overall I enjoyed this quite a bit.

Wonder how this one squeaked though. Mods.

Wonder how that gets the pass too mods. Is it the video or the author which effected that decision?

Without roller skating, there wouldn’t have been cut up skates to make the first skateboard.

I’ve been following a couple of them on insta and I think it’s rad that quad skating has blown up.

Also, Gonz looks natural on quads and I can barely roller skate (stopping is still an issue and the smallest of hills has taken me out a number of times). I enjoy the utter lack of control and unpredictability it has for me. Almost like skateboarding felt like when I first started and it was amazing to just roll.

^first sentence isn't exactly true. There were skateboards in some form around basically as long as there was rollerskates it's more that's just how kids in Cali made them in the 60s-70s.


Don't know about how rad it is but yes quad skating has def blown up big time. I noticed maybe in 2018 there were more and more women doing it (more like this style, there were roller derby types around since forever) and then since COVID it exploded. Can't see it replacing skateboarding but with its ease to learn and built in supportive community I can see it getting as big as scootering or something
