Never too cold, just too wet

We'd shovel spots, salt them and come sweep the next day.

Windchill is the fucking killer.

11°C (52°F) or below is not enjoyable. I’ll take brutally humid/hot any day.

As long as it’s not snowing/raining and relatively dry I’ll skate all year. Bundle up initially but after about 30 minutes I’m good in jeans and a hoodie as long as it’s not ludicrously Co ld

Salute god, I've been out skating when it's that cold. That said, I dunno if a Detroit 10o is that much different than a Philly 10o though but shit is far too gnarly if there's a slight breeze....

5C / 40F is probably the comfort limit these days.

As long as the wind isn't super gnarly, shit isn't all frosty and I can get warmed up I'd say between 10* and 15* fahrenheit but I'm from Michigan and my idea of cold is probably fucked compared to most people.

Anything lower than 45F and I'm going to an indoor park. I'm from Texas. We suck at being cold.

Unless your bushings freeze up or it's snowing theres no real excuse. If you can't skate you're not skating hard enough.

There’s nothing more uncomfortable than having soaked sweaty clothes in freezing ass weather from skating hard. No thank you.

Anything below 30 and I'm done.  We have a great indoor (Olliewood Action Sports)
here and Chestnut Mountain and Sundown Mountain 20 minutes away.  If its cold I'm Snowboarding or skating warm indoor wood ramps.

Just as long as it doesn’t snow, then I’m fine, I live in a state where it’s usually hot so I will not complain at all if it’s cold

Yesterday was probably too cold, I think it was single digits here.  Today is sunny and back in the 30s so I'm going out.

This is my first NY winter where I am not skating as much... I want to blame it on the cold weather or that I hate when my bushings get cold.. but the truth is I am just working too much and don't have the drive to skate when I am burnt out

I won’t skate below my age. I’m 36. Which 36 ain’t bad. But I set that rule in my 30s. And I keep it every year.

My girlfriend may need to relocate to be near Virginia in the next 3-5 years so we been looking around New Hampshire. For places and I don’t know how I’m gonna survive. I’m from the Midwest and I assume the winters there will be worse.

If it’s below 40 I don’t skate. I can’t have fun.

personally, the wind is more of a pain in the ass to me than the actual cold. it can be like 10 degrees and windy as fuck and its worse than -20 with no wind

Very true.  I'm in Minneapolis and it gets brutally cold.  I've always applied the theory of skating my age to what the temp is.  So when I was 16 I would still go out in 16 degree weather to skate.  Now in my 40s the same rule is in effect.

Yeah, this is probably where I'm at as well. Maybe bump that up to 8 C / 46 F. Last year we had an exceptionally warm March and I was skating in close to freezing temps, which I believe helped irritate a nerve in my left leg. So I've got to be more discerning about the cold from now on.

Have you seen the indoor parks in Europe?! Why aren’t there a few up and down the east coast?

I'm in Philadelphia and I skate every day, lately I've got the ridiculous red long johns with the button buttflap for a base layer, but the most important pieces of winter skate gear is a ninja mask and gloves

I can bundle up and deal with it in the 30's generally. I've done mid 20's when I'm really itchin' but that's pushing it. It's been freezing here lately so when I stepped outside this morning and it was about 34 degress Fahrenheit it actually felt pretty nice in comparison.

Don't know if it's just me getting old but this winter in particular is one of the harshest I've seen here. Super dry cold and at the same time still penetrates your bones, think countryside style. I always absolutely adored winter for skating though (fall being my favorite season), and I love layering up. Battling heat into your legs with every push all the while engulfed in two pairs of pants, long sleeve shirt under a couple of hoodies if necessary and then a jacket, scarf. I was never one to care about looks, I just want to feel like I'm in a blanket whilst skating at this point - softens slams too. People have given me shit before because even in the summer I'll be wearing long sleeves and hoodies (I've skated in Rio de Janeiro in long sleeves) but I'll gladly roll with that because either way I'm going to keep doing it.
