figured id post these in the "proper" thread (why isn't this stickied btw). i think the first joints COULD have been good if they went for a minimalist approach sorta like the DC Mike Mo's but they fucked up with the swoosh & heel piece. I think the prod 8's are nice but that particular color way is ass for a skate shoe. interesting to see Nike try to bring back the flywire tho. the first & last time they tried to use it on a skate shoe was the OG salazars
I'm picking up some Nike tennis vibes from the prod 8 upper (not the best picture but still):
A bit of the Zoom E-cue as well:
I'd argue tennis is probably the second most shoe-abrasive sport out there. I think it'd be a definite win for skateboarders if Nike could leverage some of their other technologies into skate shoe design.
Now, I'm not exactly sure how I feel about the prod 8 looks-wise but it's definitely interesting to see Nike change things up. I feel the same way about the Lunar Janoski/One Shot. The shoes ain't traditional looking by any stretch but I always love seeing anything different than the era/chukka/accel/dunk profile. Even if the end product is ugly (and you could definitely argue these new Nike offerings are exactly that)
