Yom Kipur In Israel-A Day Without Cars
« on: January 17, 2014, 05:48:27 AM »
Yom Kipur is one of the holiest days in jewish tradition, its a 24 hour fast and during that day religion does not allow using electrical appliances, drive or work and in Israel, as a mainly jewish country, it means that the entire country is shut down for a day, no cars, no opened businesses and for us skaters, a 24 hours holiday where no spot is a bust and all the roads are empty.
In 2013 skaters from all over the country celebrated Yom Kipur in the north of Israel, going down the steep hills of the Carmel Mountain and skating the empty streets of Haifa.

Cant even begin to describe how much fun we had. We  skated all day going down hills that during the year are packed with cars, skated spots you can never skate and everyone was there to skate and have fun.

That was sick. Skating on holidays is fun. I was looking forward to MLK day Monday but I sprained my ankle and it's cold, so I guess I have to wait 'til what, the 4th of July?
