eS Reissue Possibilities
« on: July 18, 2019, 12:50:02 PM »
I was going to make this post as a reply in the UPCOMING SHOE thread where we were going back and fourth about eS's choices for reissues but I don't want to further derail it from the intended purpose of that thread.

I went to http://skateboardingstartswithes.com/1995/ to look at all of the eS models '95-'11. I looked at the non pro-model shoes that weren't completely heinous that would function for skating.

I will say I was shocked how many horrible designs there were and just how many redundant redesigns with new names there were.

Here is a compilation of shoes they could re-issue in my humble opinion - obviously some are much better than others. (They obviously should also stick with the Accel, SAL 23, and SLB - although the SLB deserves an real OG retro):

1995 - Aventi

----

1998 - Vector

----

Eos - 2001

----

Accel Plus - 2003

----

Breaker Mid - 2003

----

Rover - 2003

----

Discover - 2004

----

Accelerate - 2005

----

Script - 2006

----

Square One - 2006

If any of these actually are pro models let me know. Some of these could definitely get you hate'd on for sure but they aren't as bad as the Omega, Sparta, etc. There truly are some horrifying shoes on that site.

My apologies lol. I considered it. It was before my time of buying real skate shoes so I have no nostalgia for it.

A bunch of the OPs suggestions aren’t really “iconic” which is why they’ll never be reissued, but I’d fuck with that Aventi

aventi is a good one!
Arto 1s and Koston 1s and one other shoe that I can't seem to remember the name of, it was in the early tech days (think pre-muska) and was black leather with a clear sole

Arto leaving out the Arto

I think these came out 2 years too late. Skate shoes from '97-2000 had a much thinner feel to them even though they had a similar profile to skate shoes of '00-'04. This shoe was way too bulky, stiff, and heavy for what it was. The Reynolds 1, which is a similar looking shoe but designed a few years prior, is a much less bulky feeling shoe than these are..

Can we just have some sort of proof that someone has told Kelly directly that the reissues are bogus? I want to see his reaction.
Anything you can possibly think positive about eS has nothing to do with the Scheme or anything like the new Silo.

I get you don't have a lot of money to keep making sole molds, so quit spending it all on the damn Scheme mold and then coming out with 3 shoes that use it. Fix the Accel OG, fix the Accel Slim then add a strap for an Accel Plus Slim, reissue some lower cost models and boom eS is actually buyable.

Andrew Reynolds designed the Solist according to Skately?

There's a sufficient amount of reissues out already. Scheme fulfills one's need for a synthetic marshmallow with bad durability. Accel, Accel Slim, Accel Plus, Contract and Square three are revamped versions of older models and Swift 1.5 is basically a modern, functional version of Creager.

What I'd kill for would be an ENTIRELY NEW design for a shoe. Silo was fine except it's as flimsy as a vulc and just not durable.

Nah these are sick.

Would def fux w  reissues of the Stylus and the Vector too.

In a dreamworld, I'd kill for reissues of the muska and the creager too, but mostly the Koston 2. I've been perving at pics of them online for the past few months
on the commentary for the scene where jeremy klein rollerblades at that little skatepark he said the actual blader with dreads who was there came up to him and asked him if he listens to korn

If they did this in a high top it might make me willing to skate something other than a jordan or dunk high

How could you forget the Koston 3? It’s the most iconic Es shoe, perhaps after the Accel imho. I would certainly buy the remake

I didn’t forget it. It’s a pro model for a skater who is on Nike now.

Plus they are releasing a model “inspired” by the K3.
It’s different for sure though.

Looking through that site/timeline was tough. Minus the pro models, most shoes look terrible. I can't see reissues of any more team models being a good idea.

I haven't bought any reissues but would probably get these

I don't recall Arto really wearing these though, seemed like he strictly ran Accels and Koston 1s. Maybe his pro es model was during the Really Sorry injury period.
