Figured this should exist. I’ll start with a repost from aussie legend MBrimson88
.
Just when I thought everything here was done, OCD Skateshop (Australian / Aussie / AU / Oz) puts out an even bigger early sale for Boxing Day, which is nuts.
Select things only but boards definitely down and some other things like Dickies pants, clearance wheels, etc.

Good idea, Fast times is having a sale too for anyone into that. UPS is also having one: https://upsskateshop.com.au/collections/sale?page=1

I put this in the main thread in case anyone missed and wanted to try some Tiago's for 70% off retail but New Balance's eBay store has heavy discounts atm.
Other really decent shoes are basically 3 for the price of 1 also.
$58 shipped NB 1010's in a decent range of sizes.

Also Westgates's, 272s 440s and Foys also for under $50 shipped.

Ha yeah, there are so many going on right now.
I still get all the emails from them, as well as seeing Instagram posts from some of the shops and there are ridiculous sales going on in some shops, so we are almost spoilt for choice, but most places have something going on.
Sad that I open some emails and think "Well that is a discount, but not one worth clicking on the link for..."
Anyway, besides OCD specific items sale, there are other % off from a number of the bigger online shops, so some to list right now I saw and can remember:
Kingpin 30% off everything
Boardworld 25% off everything
Kick Push 15% off everything
Boarders - 20% off everything
To be fair though, this is not supporting your local (if you have one that is worth supporting) but there were a lot of good deals on shops for walk in customers in specific areas. I just don't live anywhere near any shops to make the travel worth it, being an hour or so away from everything. Eg:
Parliament in Brisbane
Precinct on the Gold Coast

Yeah man, spoiled for choice for sure. I end up just getting really particular about getting a specific something, then chase down the best price from a shop I trust. I hear you about "supporting the local", cos you got to actually have a local and they be worth supporting haha - but they're still out there and lucky if people live near them, that's great.
When I was just a grommet, my local for early 90s skate gear was Peninsula Surf (BEFORE it was PSC) and Ozmosis (BEFORE it was a chain store).....and now they are bought out by the big biz, like Zumiez, and are huge franchise. Funny how "supporting the local" turns out!!! ;D ;D ;D
(but for real, support your local ;D).

OCD have good sales and range but a few interactions with them they kinda seem like dicks. Am I wrong? Will support my local unless they don’t stock what I need.

Now down to $62 each with the extra 25% off sale items - still all sizes too, from 8, 8.125, 8.25, 8.38 and 8.5 with a couple of each when I checked.
What I always find crazy / stupid is the markdown schedule of these places.
Standard lines and stock that doesn't move quickly enough gets cleared out at sometimes wholesale or below, but then the same stuff will be back again next season or next year and they go through it all over again.
-
This is the major reason I switched over to dwindle decks
Rock bottom prices every 3-4 months and there are some gems hidden amongst those brands from time to time

Ima just gonna come back to this one, to answer Radcunt. Not sure what’s his experience with OCD, but I’ve never had any problems. Online inventory is solid, easy to use, orders are always ship super quick with Gov Post (Auspost) free tracked shipping over $50. I have been to the old shop plenty of times in the past (and been to the new shop once) and never had a problem just getting what I wanted. So basically, I’ve got no complaints and will continue to shop. I’m curious to know what Radcunt was on about, no customer should be getting bummed on trying to shop, so somethings gone wrong there, that’s a surprise to me but shit idk.

The only cool brand they have now are passport but still weird they keep restocking for stuff to just go on sale. Years ago they had like ten pages palace, Magenta, polar, dlx and i think toa stuff for like $20 a board. I regret not just buying the entire shop I prob could of had as much stock as most skate shops for like a grand.
They also have had dunks before which was my theory to why they bother having any skate hardware but I still doubt the math works out

I worked for another large retailer that had a crazy markdown and clearance schedule. Still seems like that is the case, but thankfully they don't seem to clear out the staples and solid lines any more, so someone got a clue.
As for Surfstitch, they seem to get almost full lots of Globe / Dwindle and Boardriders Dist brands, with only limited stock from others, but they just got in some more Project Dist stock not too long ago, not much, but it was still a reasonable drop - Eagle boards in 8.5, 8.25 and 8.0 along with Spitfire wheels in various sizes of a few styles, Conical Full and Classic mainly, then some other things like Grizzly grip.
Some stuff does sell quickly, but other stuff is a bit more random.
Any which way, it is always worth looking at what is on sale when the email pops up.
OCD sale is still going, but I think I have picked them clean of the things I was interested in and don't want to blow out my funds for the next month or so.
As to the OCD shop service, I am based in QLD, but the one (or maybe two) times I was down in VIC for work, I went in there to the old shop and it was a good experience. For online orders which I have made many over the years, never had any issues and things were accurate and well shipped, or emails quickly for any issues / out of stock or whatever.
Coming from 20+ years of shop experience both behind the counter and going in to almost every skate shop on my travels round AU, there have only been a couple of places I didn't get a good vibe and I think those shops are no longer in operation, which makes sense.
I totally get that some people can have a not so good experience going in to a skate shop though, as I had seen some people not treated very well at the time, but more often than not it was either misunderstanding or lack of knowledge from the customer side, than anything else.
Not saying that was the case there for anyone, but it does happen.

I’ve only ever ordered from OCD online, and the one time they didn’t have what I wanted that they had advertised they took the time to call me and let me know the situation, they were apologetic and we came to a agreed outcome. They have my business in full.

OCD were full legends the one time I had a Convo with em on the phone.

My experience as well.

That’s great to hear, glad to know my experience is the exception as they’ve been my go to if my local doesn’t have / can’t get something.
-
OCD has been a great service and prices for me online. However have found out the hard way The wheel bases listed are not accurate. I'm guessing that's probably not their doing

I think some other shop guys had said that certain shops and places actually measure every board that comes in.
That is fine for a smaller shop, but when you have hundreds of boards coming in at a time, that is near impossible so going by manufacturer or brand specs, often they get it wrong, some brands way more than others.
Example: I was surprised to learn / see that Passport 8.5 only have a 14.38 wb, when I thought they always had 14.5 wb, at least one I got not too long ago.
Polar boards are another good one - some listed as 14.5 which have 14.38 or so, or other boards from brands I can't recall right this minute that have the spec listings that are very much incorrect, but someone is just punching in numbers for the board listings from a spreadsheet, brand spec sheet or other info, so they definitely don't get it right all the time.

If your local skate shop doesn't have some things you want, there are a couple of places with big discounts right now.
Check Surfstitch for 30% off what seems like almost all skate goods right now.
Spitfire Formula Four wheels at $50 a set and Lil Smokies 51mm Classic $37 a set, just for starters.
Not sure how long it is on for either, but they have some decent stock and I would have bought a fair bit if I didn't already have enough myself.

Ebay also has 20% off until the end of the month, so everything on both Kingpin stores being significantly reduced too.

Decks going for as cheap as $50 Aud here. Lots of FA, Palace, Hockey, 917.

Shout out to Supply for literally having a constant sale on Hockey/FA decks, it's mildly annoying they don't carry griptape but for $49 I can deal.

Any of you ever been in to the Supply store locations, or only ordered online?
I guess I had heard about them before, given they say they have been around since 2002, but the name never really popped up when I was travelling to Sydney or Melbourne so never stopped in to check them out.
Reminds me of another place or two that were around for a minute in Brisbane and although were interesting, I guess they never really had that footing between skate product and cool clothes to make enough impact to stick around.
Those deck prices are really good though.

I've bought from them online and Melb instore (which hasn't been around long). It's basically a high-end clothing boutique that carries some boards from "hip" brands like FA/Sci-Fi Fantasy/917 etc. and no hardware.
It's for sure more for the fashion/streetwear/sneaker crowd.
I might be wrong but they're attached to a big distributor in Sydney so maybe that's why they have such a huge online board section?

Yeah that makes sense, Flipside Distribution (based in Sydney) comes up on the payment info.
Funny that some of those places are almost a "wall hangers only" sort of store, focussed more on the cool crowd, who usually have a lot more money to burn than skateboarders do, but when they need to get rid of a lot of stock like that, it would be skaters who would jump on the clearance decks and stock up.
Crazy (again) that those prices are below wholesale for normal shops from the distributors, yet anyone could buy them from there to then stock their own shop, if they were of that mind.
I am really only interested in the wood, not the brands or graphics, so might get a few to blank, but I am guessing they are all the super steep blunt shapes in those Hockey boards. There are a couple of 917 boards there I am looking at too.
Any which way, it is not important, but if others can get decks at a great price, then so be it.
Edit: six boards at $49.99 each with only $15 shipping is so good.
-
Also depending on which grip you like, Surfstitch still has 40% off over a certain amount spend, with plain black Jessup in stock down to $5.99 per sheet, then get other things to make it up to the required amount - trucks, bearings, etc and then you are set.

Got dragged to the Sydney one prob over ten years ago. Def seemed like they'd read up on supreme and decided they'd also try and be way too cool for anyone who came into their store

Melbourne store caters to mainly Asian student crowd that wear expensive street wear/hypebeast stuff from head to toe but still can't coordinate an outfit lol. You know the type. Sorry to stereotype but I'm mixed Asian and play bball with tonnes of these guys and it does my head in.

Hey Mark, curious to know if you ordered decks from supply, and how long/if they turned up.
Or anyone else recently?
I know a few homies that got dicked over ordering around Christmas, never shipped, no response for a month, and then their orders got canceled and refunded. It was weird cos the template email said “due to inventory issues, unable to process order”, but the decks are even now still lister for sale. Guess they got overloaded with orders and the hit a hard reset rather than fill them all.
Anyway, cheap is cheap, is just wondering if they’ve got their shit together and back shipping orders again.

I feel spoilt now, after looking through their boards and thinking I just got some of those cheaper.
For real though, there are some good ones in there and any decent pro board for under $100 is a good deal.
Also noticed that some bearings, some trucks and some wheels are on a good special as well, so worth checking out for Spitfire wheels and various trucks or bearings.
Edit:
I messaged you re the previous question, fair to say so far my interactions have been less than desirable from the order I placed well over a week and so far got nothing, so still waiting.

Yeah, I’ve got a soft spot for the OG surf/skate shops that have been around since the beginning. Triggerbros are good dudes and have been backing skate since the 80s, not a massive range, but a few surprises and bigger than you might expect for a surf/skate bricks and mortar shop. I pop in their often and it’s a bit of a 90s time warp in the best possible way. 8) And yeah, agree, a good pro board under $100 is never a bad deal.
Ps. Replied to your message - thanks for the feedback.

Supplystore, I ordered from there a few weeks back just a deck
After about 5 days I emailed them, no reply
Roughly 2 days later I messaged them on instagram they replied and shipped the next day
Shipping was about $15 and no grip obviously, $65 for a palace deck all up
I'm quite content with that price

I am patient and not fussed by whatever is going on there, so at those prices, if things didn't eventuate, it is not a big deal.
Always through Paypal, so that side of things is covered, but I do feel like we will get there in the end.
I guess too when I think about some people going from one board to the next or sweating on delivery times, I have a few boards always ready, so these would have been backups for a couple of other guys I skate with, as well as a couple for me, not a worry really any which way.

I grabbed a $49 Hockey and got an out of stock / cannot process email a day or so later and was refunded straightaway.
Tried another graphic and they shipped it out next day and delivered the day after (via courier not AusPost)
I can’t fault them over multiple of purchases really - definitely worth the recommendation!
-
Ahh why do they have to use couriers I've had way too many issues with them
-
Ahh why do they have to use couriers I've had way too many issues with them
I guess some businesses find it cheaper / easier to deal with Aus Post and others find it cheaper / easier to deal with some courier companies.
Funny that when I had ordered two things on the same day and both from VIC to QLD, Aus Post took the expected four days but the courier company took two weeks, then there are other times where things are sort of reversed, so I don't quite know what goes on there.
I think it also depends on where you are in relation to where it is coming from.

My Supply order arrived today.
After a while and emails back and forth working out what was in stock and just giving them lots of options of boards from what I could still see in stock there, I am stoked and all is well with this order - six boards all up, so I probably wasn't helping things in that regard.
I think more than anything, the stock on hand didn't quite match the stock listed, or something similar, which now seems to have been corrected or they have sold a ton of boards (or both) but the reply emails were always positive and I would order from them again, regardless of how long it took.
https://www.supplystore.com.au/sale/decks?product_list_order=price_low
Still some good ones there, and BBS wood from $39.99 is a bargain!!!
The 917 clown shoes graphic might be a bit much for some people, but it is the same dimensions as the AH blue eagle, a little under 8.5 and 14.25 wb with 31.75 length.

Still some good ones there, and BBS wood from $39.99 is a bargain!!!
The 917 clown shoes graphic might be a bit much for some people, but it is the same dimensions as the AH blue eagle, a little under 8.5 and 14.25 wb with 31.75 length.
Nice man, and replied your message, cheers.
With the 917, I’ve had two 8.25 and they both had all thick plys, which made it heavier, less flex and last longer, and good but different. And the 8.5 I’ve got is more the usual BBS with the thinner 3rd and 5th ply.
I’ve got pics, not sure how well it shows up, but it’s obvious irl and makes the thicker 8.25 board feel and skate completely different to other BBS boards I’ve skated.
So, just wondering if the 8.38 are the same plies style they use for the 8.5, like the ones you bought, or all thick plys like the 8.25?? (Idk if all 917 8.25 are like this or just the ones I got).
Curious to know, and hope that makes sense. Ta.

Mbrimson88 are you familiar with the 917 8.18 shape by any chance? More specifically wheelbase and concave? That's a steal of a price for BBS wood.

Sorry I only got the 8.38 and the 8.5 boards from that sale, but have not seen any of the other sizes, mainly because I don't have any local shops and other shops an hour away are often either not the sort of places to have them or I haven't really paid attention, so can't recall seeing many 917 boards around at all.
When I looked it up online, that 8.18 orange board was listed as follows from another shop, which is the same length and wheelbase as their others:
Call Me 917 Iso Orange Deck 8,18". Call Me 917 Skateboards. 81,45€ EUR.
Mellow Concave. 8.18" x 31.75". 14.25" WB.
To add to that, in any of those dimensions, regardless of width, it is a good looking board with decent nose and tail, looking at what I have and comparing it to other smaller boards I do have as well.

8.5
I can see those pics easily so just went and had a look at the four 917 boards I have.
The ply layups are similar to what you have shown on two, and same for the other two:
First version, top stained, second stained, then bottom stained, middle cross ply third and fifth are a bit thicker looking, but that could just be my eye.
Second version, top stained, middle stained, bottom stained, middle cross ply third and fifth look thinner, or other layers looking thinner too, but again this could just be me.
They don't feel any different in weight, shape, concave, but as you have said I am guessing that they could skate differently.
From riding DLX boards a lot, the first version reminds me of that (top one and two and bottom stained), with the other one looking more like some Baker boards or similar, just by basic visual comparisons, but I am not sure how this would translate to performance or whether or not they did in fact use thinner cross ply layers or something else.

Can I add New Zealand sale gear here?
it's great to know about these Aus sales but decks in particular cost a lot for shipping across the pond..
Of course. How do I change the original title, Pals?

Go back to the first post, click MODIFY which should be up closer to the top right, then change the title of the first post which will then change every other post after that time.
It won't change the older posts but at least it will show up in the forum as AU and NZ.

So I am still getting emails from shops with significant discounts and deals, some of which are pretty good, some not so good overall, but I feel like I am getting used to more and more sales and better deals, so it is hard to compare.
Trigger Brothers still have good discounts, as per three boards I just got for about $80 each, with free grip and free shipping.
Ebay (Kingpin) has another 15% off for a few days, so Spitfire Formula Four wheels come down like this:

Formula Four wheels from $55 or so and originals from $45 as well as other discounts right across their range of products.
As I posted in the Spitfire Formula Four thread, some Australian shops now have the new drop of wheels, including the Evan Smith mismatched colour box set, which has officially maxed out the highest price I have ever seen normal new Spitfire Formula Four wheels in this country at $99 and they are selling fast too. All other wheels are around $89 for normal (smaller) sizes and $94 or so for 57 mm and up.

A hundred bucks for a set of Spitfire!?! That’s wild, no way I’d pay that. Definitely pays to shop around like you said. I just swapped out some dead spitfire for some SML og slim 51s, no problems and love the shape. Spitfire is obviously great, but seems like they’re getting a bighead. ::) 8)

Ha yeah, but I guess people get fired up over wheely small things these days.
For real though, it is the same with everything, prices going up just $1 at the manufacturing end means things go up $10 or more at the retail end, so with shipping costs going through the roof, places like here where shipping eats into whatever costs a lot more just to get the container here, means that DLX product in general just goes up another $10 or more per $100 price.
The new Indy trucks and all that sort of stuff from other brands have also gone up stupid amounts, new ones being $120 to $160 a set, and that is just the plain to pro name trucks, not even hollow / ti axle with forged plates.
Get them while you can, cause things are going to go through the roof in the next 12 months compared to what the prices were or are on sale now.

I bought a girl deck from new Zealand last year and got grip and free shipping to Aus for like a $100 aud
Was a decent deal
I know this isn't the place but Aussies don't seem to use the classifieds section on slap
So Apologies, however
I have two brand new sets of indy ti's (144 and 149) im wanting to sell cheap
If any aussie pals after a deal hit me up.
-
Jesus, do you guys need us to start air dropping used skate goods across the country? This prices are absolutely staggering.

Yeah what's the best place to sell gear for Australians? On gumtree no one wants my stuff and the fees are too high on ebay. Any Facebook groups?
-

I've had most luck on gumtree from Dads usually
Ebay i find i have to make shit ridiculously cheap to get a hit
Whatever money I do get from selling used shit always gets spent at skateshops anyway

I have bought quite a few bargains from eBay, Gumtree and even a couple from Facebook Marketplace, but I have also been dicked around a whole lot too, so I always take care buying and usually don't think it worth selling on any of those unless I don't mind it going for cheap or have some items that really get people going, eg one board had a few bidders that took it up over what I was expecting, but almost everything else either didn't sell or only had low offers, so I usually don't try to sell anything other than face to face now.
I think the hardest thing for anyone looking to sell is they usually have price and then post costs, which didn't work out so well with most online shops having free shipping and more often than not having discount codes or specials so it usually worked out a better deal to buy from a shop and not a private seller.
Although there have still been some very good sales on of late, I do think a lot of the really good specials are drying up a bit and it is getting harder to find some really cheap product the way it was a month or more ago.
Also prices are going up and up and up, so even with discount codes, quite often I am thinking I don't really need any more Spitfire wheels at the new price of $80 to $90 or whatever else is going, eg Indy trucks could often be found for $70 but now just under $100 or other things like decks sometimes around $60 to $70 now at least $100 and more often $130 and that is on sale, with RRP now at $150 or more.
Not complaining - I am set, but I know for anyone else looking to buy or sell, it can be a pain and I think it is only going to get more difficult for some people in some places.

I’ve asked this before in a different thread, but how does anyone afford to get into skating down there? I know at the end of the day you are all doing fine from a quality of life standpoint, but this still breaks my heart. One of my favorite things about skateboarding has always been the relatively low price of entry, but I could totally see some families passing on buying a “real” board and their kid moving on to a different hobby.
Let me know if there’s anything a dumb yankee can do for you guys.

You got the wrong idea, look at nz and aus min wage, you'd have to be an absolute bum not to be able to afford skate shit here
-
Yeah the sentiment is nice but stuff down here isn’t as drastically priced as Americans think.
I bit on those sale boards I posted and they were $54. That’s affordable af, and I don’t even have that good of a job

Yeah, once you convert AUD to USD and realize that in general Australian wages are a bit better for employees than in the USA it's not as bad as it looks. Stuff is a little bit more expensive but not unattainable for most people. Domestic board brands like Pass Port sell their decks for a bit cheaper than the big American brands too.
I definitely remember skating my boards and shoes until they were absolutely thrashed as a kid but I'm pretty sure kids in NA do that as well.
I live in California now so whenever I go back I usually try to bring a few shop decks home for the couple of mates I have that still skate, but it's not like I'm bringing clean water to malnourished kids in Africa or anything

Minimum wage is up to nearly $22 but Spitfires are up to nearly $100. I think it's affecting more people than absolute bums. It's still def doable tho.
We had it good for a while maybe between like 2010-2015 and weirdly some stuff is cheaper here than overseas
At different times things go from being pretty expensive to pretty cheap for no real reason. In the early 00s dunks cost like twice as much as they do now. DC had a while where their expensive shoes were coming out at $100 while prods were like $170 but in the us they were the same.
I got into skating in the late 90s and didn't come from money and have no idea how I did it. If I had to do it over I doubt I'd be able to minimum wage was not even half what it is now and shit was even more expensive.
I think the cost is another reason why Aus has a hundred times the amount of scooter riders than anywhere else on the planet too. I think you can get an ok scooter for like $60. So kids want to be at the skatepark but their parents just buy them the cheaper thing
-
Skating in australia was sick in the 2008 recession because Australia's economy stayed afloat while the US dollar tanked, making our dollar pretty much equal to the USD but with higher wages here! Bought so much gear off CCS and Skatewarehouse in this period, I'm sure everyone else here remembers this time of plentiful decks and shoes

There was also PSC going out of business so basically for a year just go as often as possible and stock up on as much shit that was marked down to like 40%. Pauls warehouse would also have like waist high piles of skate shoes so many days skating involved going to multiple outlets (or maybe this was a little later)

Yeah minimum wage is OK etc here in NZ but FA boards sell at my local shop for $210 for top tier, some go for $190.
Oddly I feel trucks are comparatively cheap at $120 for Indys.
I don't buy shoes at full price, just off our version of Gumtree, Trade Me, and usually snag Cons for about $40 new.
Guess I'd feel bad about not supporting a local shop but Auckland doesn't really have a core skate shop at all.
I lived in Sydney for a while and prices were way better / in general better buying power over there.
Anyway not trying to rant too much. Really the difference here is I just make shit last longer.

Just had a quick look on surfstitch got some boards discounted and the shoes seems to have some good deals. Tiago 1010 $130 instead of $200, tyshawns $95 from $160, I think Marana were like $65 from $140 and bunch of other vans, Nike, Adidas, DC, nb etc
-
Yeah there’s some stuff up for grabs there, I’m eyeing some Emericas but the discount won’t apply

Some really good deals have come and gone but I had been a bit lazy in putting anything up here (sorry).
A few current sales:
OCD has 25% off sale, automatically added in cart.
https://www.ocdskateshop.com.au/collections/sale
Things like Indy mids, all sizes down under $60 and Antihero Grosso shaped decks down under $75 just as examples, but quite a few decent deals there.
Everyone else is doing some pretty solid deals, especially coming up to end of financial year, so Surfstitch as always and definitely Surf Dive Ski have a lot of good stuff on clearance, depending on what you are after, eg SDS has Element BBS boards around $50 each, 8.0, 8.25, 8.5 and the shaped 9.25 boards, Element completes down to $30 or so, which can be good for beginners or parts for others.
https://www.sds.com.au/sale/boardstore/skate
Other places have had 20% to 25% off the whole shop that I have seen, nothing specific on sale with those ones, but cheaper product anyway from Skate Connection, Kick Push, etc.
I also forgot Vans online (and outlets) have some decent enough shoes on clearance, skate and regular lines, of which I picked up a few for under $50 each. Most of the Skate range have limited sizes or weird colours, but a pair of Skate eras for $29.99, or even Rowans for $39.99 were worth a mention.
https://www.vans.com.au/shop/sale/mens-sale
The outlets and clearance places / DFO and Harbourtowns have some really good deals up to the end of the month too.

I'm in NZ and I've never bought a deck for more than $160... Damn those prices are outlandish.
I guess Cheapskates is the closest we get to a "core" skateboard store in Akl. Boardertown and Empire have gone with the Hyperride model of business. Maybe Trainers is more "core".

Sometimes I wonder how shops still stay afloat.
Boardworld have a fairly significant range of discounted product, good discounts too, not just a little off here or there, so you could easily pick up some good deals on decks, trucks, wheels, etc.
Not everything, but definitely enough to make a significant saving, eg DLX and other pro boards around $90, wheels around $52, trucks around $70 just for starters.

Just saw that email when I went online too.
30% off everything, excluding new arrivals and gift cards, so that is always going to be good.
Discount added to cart and I didn't see any mention of it on the site itself either, so it might be more just email only info.
On another note, I saw they had some new shop boards in 8.75 with 14.25 wb and info says from Spain, so they have HLC wood now, which is very interesting. I think they measure with the concave, as they have it listed as 32.5 long, but HLC boards are usually 32. Their other shop boards which I had bought in the past were normal length 32, listed as 32.5 as well, just in case anyone is thrown off by the long measurement for those boards.
https://www.ocdskateshop.com.au/products/ocd-keys-8-75-skateboard-deck-1
Edit:
They have them in 8.0, 8.25, 8.5 and 8.75 sizes on HLC wood and some older Generator boards in 8.125 and 8.375.

according to the woodshop thread ;) and the brands listed for HLC
doesn't look like I've ever skated a deck from HLC woodshop
@Mbrimson88 have you come across many?

The only ones I know for sure are Plan B boards, of which I have seen quite a few and skated a couple just having a go on other people's setups, when they offered.
Decent wood, medium (some would say mellow) concave depending on what you are used to and good boards.
All the other sizes besides 8.75 are included in the 30% off too, so they come down to $55 or something.
Worth having a go at them anyway, I would think.
I have a couple of sets of Indy mids in the cart, also down to $55 a set, more just to have or put on setups, but there are quite a few extra good deals on OCD, especially in the sale section.
Straight from the listing:

Is NZ the same as AU in that we never have half sizes?
I used to use a shoe stretcher in size 11 shoes just to get them a little more forgiving in the length, but I ended up with ingrown nails and other foot issues, so now just try more for the smaller size / fit in 12s but anything 11.5 just felt so good without having to do too much to them.
Besides the thin socks, shoe stretchers or whatever else for shoes that are too tight, then going to 12, where I now look for thicker socks, put in an extra but thin insole or use an extra tongue just to make the shoe fit better, finding a middle ground can sometimes be a pain.
-
Yes mate exactly the same... Half sizes are pretty rare here!
It is frustrating as hell because most 11.5 fit like a dream. I have paid the price by wearing too tight shoes and have tried stuffing and stretching to make 11's fit. I have been thinking of resorting to ordering NB and Emerica shoes in 11.5 through Amazon but even there stock can be scarce.

Some brands just don’t bring half sizes in, like vans and converse, but NB are pretty good. Often the local shops don’t order them tho so you gotta buy direct.
-
.
Nice!
I remember before the AU $$ tanked and things were easier, I used to get a lot of 11.5 size Vans from various online US retailers, going back ten to fifteen years or so.
Even between some brands, or just some styles, some ran big so I would get the 11s and some ran small so I would get 12s, but having to go try on everything and see what fit best was a pain, often when no one had stock to be able to try on anyway.
As you do, finding the right fit and then ordering online for the exact half size was the best way for a while, for sure.

40% off Dwindle decks at Surfstitch, under $60 with the discount for Blind and Enjoi decks
-
.
Besides the Surfstitch 40% off birthday sale, I can't really see a lot going on for sales or discounts and it got me thinking things are tightening down a whole lot here in AU for overstock product, or everyone is just struggling a bit more, not as much money to go round, etc.
Ebay usually has a good number of $$ off or % off sales, of which I haven't seen any for a bit. Ebay shops prices have been going up to closer to RRP as well, which is long overdue but sort of cuts off a source of "double discounts" when some shops would have 10% off and then add the ebay 15% to 20% off as well.
A lot of other places have random sales, but even things like City Beach current coupon of 25% off might be the best deal around right now, which says a lot for the state of sales in AU.
The only other one might be the standard / ongoing discounts on www.skateboard.com.au as per the header:
10% OFF WHEN YOU SPEND OVER $150 WITH DISCOUNT CODE 'CODE10', 15% OFF WHEN YOU SPEND OVER $300 WITH DISCOUNT CODE 'CODE15'.
https://www.skateboard.com.au/
Always a good amount of rad gear in there, as well as supporting Aussie skateboarding.
Not sure how many other places have some or all Dwindle product on clearance, but Skate Connection and Kick Push still have smaller % off quite often too.
That's about it for now though.

God this is my exact problem too. Had to go 12s in NB 440s, would love half sizes

I saw an email from Kick Push for remaining Dwindle stock, 3 decks for $110 - $130 with a ton in stock. For shapes you like, getting three boards at $40 each is pretty good.
Seems like pretty much every size in there from small ones up to 9.0 wide as per the mailer attached below:

Has anyone had any experience with this site?
https://volcomoffers.vip/
Theyre doing a tonne of shit for 80 per cent off. Heaps of trousers, jackets, flannos etc for like 20 bucks a piece.
Was eyeing some stuff off last night and it said there was only four hours to go on the sale.
Checked it again this morning and it said 17 hours.
Seems a bit too good too good to be true as everything seems to be available in every size.... I'm a bit suspicious.

I can't be certain, but it is a pretty safe bet that this site is a SCAM.
The real Volcom online store and their physical store locations can verify it.
There have been a significant number of scams like this recently, advertised through facebook and other online avenues which appear very real and look like a normal online clearance store only slightly different URL and then after payment is made, you are not provided with any other info and the site usually gets taken down after a bit, only to pop up again elsewhere (other country and host) to try it all over again.
They even have real listings and mirror the real sites and products, so it all seems very real, until you don't get what you paid for.
-
Fuck!
I knew it was too good to be true.
Thank you Sir Brimmo, doing God's work once again!

EDIT: It was advertised via Instagram FYI.

They just put up an even bigger up to 50% off discount, which means that some things come down even more in price, eg
Spitfire Conical Full 99 duro in 54mm or 56mm now $50.40
Thunder trucks pair (sold as singles) in good sizes down to $45 a set / $22.50 each for 149s, $31 each for 148s
Quite a bit of other stuff I am not really interested in, but still good deals on parts, clothes, shoes, etc.
Brown Dickies 874 down to $45 a pair, all sizes 28 through to 38.

I bet there's more Black Friday stuff to come but Con's have a few scores up atm.

Momentum in perth has a “buy one board get one free” deal going on. Only on selected boards and it’s pretty limited but hey someone might be able to get a deal.
I had a quick sus of it and if you add two boards from the sale selection it’ll half both board prices in your cart.

Sales really starting to come thick and fast.
As Asian Vegan said, that OCD 40% off sale is pretty good, some things below wholesale...
Indy mids $47 a set, if you are willing to take the plunge.
A few others having decent sales too, but I am yet to really check through everything.

Good man
I do love me a pink stain blank.
I need to track down more of these pink Enjoi boards
When I saw this and thought "I just saw one of those..." it was an easy connection to make.
Hopefully it is good, in stock, no issues or whatever else.
They often tend to refund first and ask questions second with some decks I had bought on clearance before, having slight scuffs or whatever, which would not affect the performance of the board whatsoever.

This shop "Hyper Ride" in NZ has some insane deals on New Balances for the next 39 hours.
Got a pair of white Tom Knox highs and a pair of all black Tiago 808s for 60 bucks each.
After currency conversion, and with 20 bucks shipping to Australia, I paid about 130 AUD.
Lots of other styles going mad cheap in heaps of sizes. Unfortunately there were no size 1010s in size 11, but I ain't complaining.

Might be a bit late, but the Vans AU site has so many stupid discounts right now, as well as a stackable 25% off all shoes once your order gets over $100 or more than two pairs of shoes, that ends at midnight 20/02/2024 but still enough time to get some bargains.
There are some pretty decent shoes from $29.99 and a fair number of full size ranges from about $39.99 in what might be weird colours or styles but for people who want cheap shoes, it is not a bad deal.
https://www.vans.com.au/shop/sale
* I just bought another five pairs for under $165 - four of those from the Skate range and one from the Classic range, more for others this time / kids I skate with, but the deals are there.
** Seems that 25% off sale is still going, two days after when the site said it would end. Get it while you can, I guess.

I thought I'd put the effort in because these decks could be a very nice deal for someone who chews through decks, and decks are usually very expensive in this part of the world.
I haven't skated one yet, I was planning to put these on ice until I needed a new deck but I'm very tempted, I love a steep kick and mellow concave and this price for 2 x Decks is amazing. I'm guessing once these are gone, they are gone and we won't see this sort of price again for a while.
-
Thanks for your detailed review. I saw these up on Hyperride. A friend and I got 2 x Ace Blunt Madness decks for $50 each in one of those 2 for one deals recently. What do you think of the Madness shapes and R7 construction? I find the shapes never have as much concave in the kicks, fingers of flat and length in the tail like I am used to via BBS. The construction is also super stiff (I guess because of the epoxy) and also very heavy! They do eventually break in and they last longer than most, that's for sure. The wheel wells and cut outs are super sick. These will last you ages.
Seems like all retailers are selling Madness super cheap atm. Opera looks to be almost a carbon copy of the brand!

Opera is the same guys, team, and management from Madness, just like Jacuzzi is Louie Barletta and the old Enjoi people, names and more info easy enough to look up if you are more interested, eg Bill Weiss for one, but quite simply, when Dwindle Distribution was bought out and then jobs cut including team managers and higher up management of a company that employed skaters, everyone quit and left to start their own again, without corporate carnts ruining their fun, so to speak.
Opera, Jacuzzi and other brands are now under their own new distribution but still getting boards / wood from DSM woodshop, same place as Dwindle before too, which is why things might look, feel and even appear much the same in terms of shapes and branding.
If you liked DSM / Dwindle boards, they should all work well for you, but if you are not so much into the super stiff feeling and the concaves, they can be a bit harder to get used to.
At least from a customer perspective, there are some really good deals on Dwindle boards, still going on as they clear out all that stock, from local distributors, to shops and everywhere else in between.
-
Wholesale price on all the old Dwindle decks is insanely low, Hyper ride is still making good profit on the 2 for 1.
Was gonna buy a stack from my local but they didn't have any shapes for me which is a shame cause I like R7 a lot.

I wonder if there is a time frame on moving all the remaining stock, or just because they are all brands that are now "dead in the water" it is a case of getting as much stock out and gone ASAP.
The funny thing is I think some of the better stock is already long gone, but then I see someone else (shop or whoever) has a whole lot more on sale, be it stock they just got in or bought from elsewhere or whatever, but yeah it is the same in Australia too - shops with existing stock clearing it out and some other shops getting a lot more in and doing big deals in moving boards, eg three decks for the original RRP board before Dwindle went to the wall.
