We as skateboarders care a lot about how our favorite skaters dress/their fit, it's their uniform.
Surfers have surf wet suits, basketball players have ball shoes, soccer players have haircuts, we have skateboard fits.
So don't give me with BS and say I'm futile.
Right now I love the way Shane O'Neill dresses :

On the real tho. It seems that Steve Olson is always going to be the high water mark for clothes. I guess Duf man is close but hes always so clean.
Everyone whose ever been on FA/Hockey should just send The Kid a cnote. The kid clearly was watching rumble fish in theaters and got down with the early malt shop sock hop in saddle shoes.
Salba should be mentioned too. Dude has that Big Kahuna Back to the Beach mojo/ mike ness thing going. He gonna aqua net and step to the humunga cowabunga on a coffee table while holding up a pin up model spinning a lasso and playing god save the duke on a lap steel with his toes

I'd say as far as the ultra baggy palace kids are concerned, Kyle Wilson does it the best. Bonus points for gold jewelry and colored hair.

Maybe controversial opinion- skinny jorts look fine. Especially if they’re in a color other than blue. The problem is baggy jorts. A few people can pull them off but that’s cause they’re cool enough to get away with it. If you want to wear baggy shorts you gotta get a different material. And not like cargo shorts either. The most stylish baggy shorts are usually board shorts.

What I do is separate my skate fashion from my “night out” fashion. Two entirely different wardrobes.
I think that’s what annoys me so much about the last 10+ years of skate shoes ape-ing dress shoes. It’s ok to keep those two things separate, and I certainly don’t need to try to shove my skate look into other facets of my life (fashionably speaking).
I was hyped when baggy came back, as it to me is “the look” from the best years of street skating. It is what I associate skateboarding to look like. Plus for me, it’s a lot more comfortable not having to squeeze into a ball hugger pair of skinnies. I was wearing a lot of tight clothing prior, which isn’t practical as one gets older and body parts start to change shape.

Personally I like a relaxed fit pant, maybe a little on the looser side. I just feel goofy with huge baggy pants on. Also I feel like I skate better with relaxed fit pants on. Skinnies are usually too restrictive and uncomfortable and baggies are usually too heavy and drooping over your shoes and heels. Also like mentioned above good underwear and socks (I like Stance Baseball compression socks) are essential for topping of the kit.

Jorts look good/bad for the same reason: they’re ironic. IMO Cromer has become the epitome of jorts/thrift trend wear, not in a bad way. Since his clothes fit correctly it looks a lot better than the supreme guys. But still, seeing him rock them religiously has me reconsidering my own jort choices and thinking it’s always been about pure irony. Is there any inherent utility value to short denim pants?

I feel this, the only acceptable jorts are when your jeans are completely fucked so you cut em into jorts for a summer.
That being said im gay so rocking faded/worn out cut offs is acceptable. Straight people should proceed with caution.

I’m sorry but half of this thread is literally just name a bang averagely dressed skater.
Not trying to call people out but trying to look from the perspective of how much the average skaters get up has evolved. I’ve dipped in and out of here and skating over the past 10 years and back then it was pretty obvious who was setting trends, who was following and who was wasn’t willing to follow the trend. Then the alternative look just kind of exploded to where everyone kind of dresses the same again.
Well aware that i’ve just explained how trends normally work like a total bellend haha. I think it’s interesting that maybe people’s opinions on dress sense is regressing again maybe?
