@Prinzy oh dude I get it for sure, and the Midwest has such an incredible tradition of amazing bands, articles of faith, naked raygun, crudos, mkultra, weekend nachos, spine, negative approach, usurp synapse, and about 1300 other fantastic bands!
But if you’re in southern Indiana/ky/Tennessee there’s so many bands to listen to/take influence from, and start making music inspired by it - hellnation, severed head of state, burned up bled dry, tragedy, his hero is gone, from ashes rise, man with gun lives here, deaththreat etc.
Dude, if I had a dollar for every hour I spent watching videos of old bands play I’d be a rich man. I remember watching a video of pageninetynine playing by the fireplace in white, in a skatepark (to a crowd that consisted of members from love lost but not forgotten, jeromes dream, Breed/extinction and Joshua fit for battle) probably 150+ times.
You can get sappy about hardcore dude! That’s what this whole fucking thread is about. I mean hardcore and skating saved my god damn life, I can talk about this shit 24 hours a day! If you ever wanna talk about it, find new bands or whatever, hit me up because I fucking love it.
Also, that slug demo fucking rips, and that was one helluva dive.
I’ll include some necessary older/my golden age shit
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, AFI was one of the best hardcore bands of all time.
