I sized down to a 8.25 baker OG/ mellow shape on 5.8 ventures and 52mm SF classics. Wanted to see how different it felt to have a mini hot rod setup

this just sounds like a good idea

Classics always stay around as the backup wheels, so you could sit on those for years and they would still be great.

Nice board too!

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I've decided to size down from 8.25 to 8.0. Went to the store today to buy a new deck and trucks, kept the bearings and wheels from the old board to put on this new one.

Picked up some stuff for the rain/winter board.

Bones reds ceramics
Bones speed cream
Bones hardcore griptape

Pretty dialed in now, that grip is like 32 grit or something, flight deck doesn't lose it's pop after skating in the rain, gonna run the ceramic reds with extra speed cream and shields on both sides, spitfire 80hd chargers, should work better than my last rain bloard. #alaskaproblems

gonna get a drum sander and put wheel wells on it at some point.

Indy 144 standards. Got a little bit of madness after realizing how hard it was to flip my board on tablets and started trying to tune my setup by thinking about every part a bit more. I've tried thunder but it doesn't feel right to me. I like the feel of indy's and don't want to risk wasting money on some Aces that will have me wobbling up and down the block.

Been wanting to try a mid top cupsole for a while so I ordered some all white leather Accel slim mids. They were only 45 bucks after discount and shipping costs so I figured if I hate them I didn't lose too much and will just wear them as chillers.

2016 white/ice sb dunk his from @stets thanks again, homie. These are real clean.

Bones Swiss I bought off Depop - the seller threw in a free set of Speed Metal bearings, which I was so hyped on. They come with a corny Speed Metal Army sticker. Has anyone ever skated these? I remember the ads in Transworld back in the day but never pulled the trigger since they were way too hesh for me. Also if the seller's lurking what's up, thanks again haha.

They're not worth the premium. If they're lighter, good luck feeling the difference and the grippers only grip the grip, they don't sink into the wood; they also turn silver.

the grippers on the ace hardware can come in handy. once the nut is on you wont need an allen if your hardware loosens up

Finally got to skate them last night, I've been so tired with all the stuff we're doing at work. Very happy with the small step down. Indy blue bushing suck ass though, I need some black ones I guess. 149's have been too big for me and I'm glad I at least got that figured out.

I thought I got the Deedz trucks for the SSD Color My Friends Deck, but it could have been for a potential Huffer. They seem too small for the board. I’m thinking of getting the B.A. ones in 66, but I should search for posts to see what trucks other people have used on the 9.81 shape, before potentially buying more shit I won’t use anytime soon.

My experimentation with trucks on popsicle boards is over. I’m sticking with Thunder. I get ghost pop on other brands and have to experiment with foot placement to even land a go-to trick. Ace has been good to me on shaped boards, but is too squirrelly on popsicles. Most boards I ride have wheelbases from 14” to 14.25”.
