I thought that was great. Maybe it was more interesting to me since I'm doing the polar opposite of him with a family and 2 kiddos. Always interesting seeing the daily routine of folks like this. He rips too.

When I was a weird art kid in high school, I also got into the magic club, the whole idea of doing tricks reminded me of skating.  I actually got pretty decent by college and stopped for some unknown reason (probably lack of peer interest), but got back into it during covid.   I always preferred the slide of hand stuff

Eh, not everyone can cast off the baggage of being an impressionable kid during the Reagan years. Or maybe it's one of those ironic shirts.

I don’t like magic, and typically think most of those guys are lame; but this guy breaks that idea for me.
More power to him and hope that he keeps living his dream.

Lame shirt. All other parts were cool, though.

The t-shirt is clearly a reference to Johnny Ramone, your favorite republican guitarist. When I was 11-12 I loved the Ramones but then I watched the documentary « End of the Century » and discovered that Johnny Ramone was pro Reagan my world crushed : how a punk guitarist could have been right-wing ? Haha!

Also, as a European my (serious) question : how do you buy a Mercedes (even it’s an older model) when you are a « street magician » ? Is the monetary donation good enough to afford a decent life in Los Angeles ?

If he is such a good Magician why doesn't he just Abra Cadabra that sand away instead of using a dustpan like some hack?
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

You can get one of those for like $10k or probably even less now. I imagine he also brings in money some other way or maybe even an inheritance.

a surprising number of rock musicians from that era were pro-reagan (neil young, iggy pop, ian curtis voted for thatcher) but they snapped out of it afterwards like a drunken stupor... or died

was fully willing to buy it was an homage until i dug through this dude's following on IG and saw the babylon bee. still, good on him for digging out the spot every day

I went into this video thinking I would end up clowning the guy, but he won me over. Seems like a pretty cool dude to sesh with. I'd watch his magic show, too. I've got a soft spot for his sense of humor.

Johnny also performed a song that equated him to being the KKK
