hey penismonster what did you think of his other films?
maybe its just a taste issue
but as timmytutone said im quite trustworthy of michel that he makes it good. i love him. love. him. sexually. i want to --nevermind
I havent seen Human Nature....
i thought Eternal Sunshine was amazing and it deserved all the praise it got. One of the first TRUE masterpieces of this decade.
Science of Sleep was ok.
All the typical Gondry magic one would expect to see in his work was in the film. No doubt about that. He obviously has a giant imagination unrivaled by anyone in the film industry right now. And for that reason alone people should be purchasing admission to his movies.
He's a great director. As for a writer........i think he needs to work on that a little bit more (it's his second film without Charlie Kaufman...and that fact is quite noticeable in both) The film itself is amazing to witness (especially in a theater) . . . but the story falls short and certain plot points go nowhere. In regards to the script...Michel's heart was in the right place, but sometimes that just isn't enough when writing something substantial. The studio has a little over a month to fix the movie up..and i hope they do.
The last scene of the film was nice though (in particular the last shot)
