wanted to make a thread for slappers that wanted to post skate shoe reviews. i think skate shoe review vids are flat ad repetitive so why not try it here.

The Ave 2.0 is a great skate shoe I like it and it’s cool looking
Thanks to vans for sponsoring this post

The eS muska reissue skates super well. Has a fair amount of board-feel and good impact protection. laces are nice and havent ripped because of the little rubber lace guards. after getting the rubber on the sole worn down from kickflips and the toe guard, flick is super nice and consistant. the lace lock makes the shoe super convienient as well. 10/10 if you want a tank of a shoe that isnt too bulky.

Thanks for starting. Anyone have anything to say about fastbreaks? Tempted to grab a pair on sale right now.

They're solid shoes. Great for someone who is used to skating vulcs but wants to try out some cupsoles. They have good ankle support and the flick is amazing once you break it in. Took me about 5 kickflips and nollie flips to break them in. I actually prefer them over the NB 440.

That’s quite Meta. Bravo.

If you read Kyle Beachy’s book, the most fun thing, you will find that the fast break is the best shoe ever.
Personally, I think the Joslin is the best shoe ever for cup soles. I can’t skate vulcs anymore, but I really really enjoyed the ave 1 with shoe goo on the Ollie area. (And I don’t do heelflips, so the back area was never a concern)

Excellent excellent shoe! If you feel that half-cabs can be a bit sloppy maybe this shoe is for you. It has that classic basketball shoe feel. Bit wider toebox, laces up super comfortably without restricting your ankle too much and has better than average impact protection. Available in various materials which will play a huge part how the shoe feels. IMHO the best combination is the suede or suede front with the nylon mid-part. Put some shoe goo on the nylon and you're good. Leather ones are more sturdy. Converse should take more colorway risks with this shoe. And more suede options!

how do they work with your pants tho? I feel like I'd need massive pants to pull those off...

I think they were designed to work best with medium size red track pants pulled up to mid shin level.

So, they arent super wide like other skate shoes. If you have a pair of loose-fit Levi's or straight-fit, it looks amazing. Shorts are also cool with this.

might be my favourite shoe. flicks good, looks good, fits good, and pretty stable all the while being pretty flexible.
only two downsides. the outsole is slick even out the box and with brand new griptape. found my feet to be gliding around more than usual.
second might be depending on the material you go with. i havent skated the nylons but heard they tend go out pretty fast. i do skate the all leather joints and theyre durable. the leather is really slick when you first use em but that all fleshes out after breaking em in a lil

I’ve been skating NB 425’s for an about a month and a half. Pretty solid. I don’t jump down anything so I can’t speak on the impact protection but board feel is good. They are very thin for a cupsole and a little tight mid foot but I would buy them again.

DC OG lynx
Cup with board feels! Awesome shape!
I don't have anything bad to say about the LYNX OG

The only things wrong with the Rowan 2s (compared to the vulc) are boardfeel and grip. Boardfeel is expected to be reduced, still not awful, but whatever. The grip is throwing me off though and it’s a bit tough to compensate for, personally.
Other than that the sole is pretty supportive and comfy, the upper is has the same high-wear spots but I counteracted that with super glue. Holding up strong with a nice bead.

I think the grip on the 1 and 2 are nearly identical. Both very grippy.

Riley 3 highs feel good. Light, nice support and board feel. Lakai Owen slip ons feel good too. Different sole, but comfy and nice board support.

What is board support? And no way lakai vulcs are good.

I second this. I also have nothing bad to say about the Lynx OG’s, phenomenal shoe all around. While we are at it, big shout out to the DC JS-1. It’s becoming one of my first grabs in the shoe closet for everyday and skating

Vans authentics are really good because Julien Stranger skates them

lakai vulcs aren’t terrible if we’re talking vulc shoes, had a pair of Riley Alison’s way back when my feet could still handle vulcs and have no real complaints (insoles we’re good too)

All I skated was vulcs until I tried the 440's. Makes me want to try the fastbreaks. Not diggin the white shoes. But they do have that black/black colorway.

the williams OG are also a solid shoe. best ankle support in any skateshoe ive ever had. only flaw is the stitches rip too easily and when that happens, theres nothing else underneath it. also the shoes need to be tied tightly so the shoe dose'nt slip off your foot.
-
Nike Dunk - great all around shoe for me. The grip last forever for me and leather ones can last quite awhile with a little shoe goo. Requires a little breaking in. Overall decent board feel and support.
Ishods 1 - love how they skated, good grip and flick. Would not pay full price for them, they do not last. Not best for old knees as they are thin even with the react insole.
Axion Genesis - definitely go up at least 1/2 size, these were narrow and I rolled my ankle in them. Grip wore quite fast. Materials felt pretty nice. Board feel wasn't great, flick was ok. This just made me realize I don't like puffy shoes and should probably just stick with Nike

Anyone here cop and/or skated those Supreme Darwin Lows yet? Look like a fun shoe to skate imo, kinda sick to see a Dennis Rodman shoe randomly get retroed for SB.

I have a black pair on the way, basically paid $20 over retail. I want to skate them but probably won't be for awhile since I'm still stocked up on dunks
