I too am a fan of wide boards that are on the shorter side. Most 8.5s I see are usually 32 or longer, so when I find one that's under 32 I always try to scope it out.
That 8.5 x 31.125 shape has me officially interested.

When HOPPS started they had a shape, must have been a one-off, that was 8.25 x 31. For awhile after that I looked everywhere for a wider boards that were that short ..closed thing I could ever find was a Dan Drehobl shape that was like 8.125 x 31. I've seen come to terms with wide boards being 31.5" at the very least.

I missed the days of ravers rocking AWS gear but looking back it's pretty funny how in the early 2000s Indy/Spitfire were the precursors to No Fear / Monster logos. I feel like every jock or redneck I'd see had a huge Spitfire sticker on his truck, or rocked an Independent t-shirt.
And then it was DC gear for a little bit that became the skate cross-over

Did anybody catch what was on my instagram? It was just a picture of my dog eating, but I want to know what kind of buzz it's generating.

The buzz is real.

I liked it and I have 3 followers so that's like a 4,000% jump in popularity in 17 seconds...or at least the possibility of that.

Girl/Chocolate has a short 8.5 shape they do sometimes. A friend/customer of mine loves it to death. they also have a longer 8.5 though, so you need to check.

That edit is sick.  I've been hoping Alien will assemble a team of smaller-named guys who are ripping, but kind of under the radar.  Similar to what Stereo did when they came back with Clint, Benny, Olly, etc.  No disrespect to Mother, as we don't know what their direction is yet, but there is a feel they'll bring back a number of the old Alien crew (which is cool-those guys rip) but it feels like it would just be an Alien 2.0.  I just want to see some new guys get the call up and give a fresh breathe to the Workshop.

Raised hexagons on the board. They've been doing it off and on for years. Probably what inspired Dill for the raised fucking awesome decks.

SFB - the Hexmark is a raised embossing on the top and bottom ply in the shape of a hexagon nut. And like Spaced said, FA is using the same applique on their boards.
