I haven't done this in years and years. Back in 88, before my friends and I discovered waxing curbs, we would just raw haul as fast as we could and slappy into grinds at a curb cut. 12 foot grinds, no wax, unpainted. Ground down to the axle on one pair. Gullwing super pro III's. My first trucks were well on their way (Tracker Ultra lites) but the kingpin broke and those baseplates were so lame, the kingpin wasn't removable so basically ditched them.
I once saw Sam Devlin grind through the pivot part of his Indy's from doing nose and tail slides. So raw.
These days, all I really skate are plaza ledges. The ledges there (granite and metal) always seem to be slippery and waxed. Probably never gonna get down to the axle the rest of my life.
