i had really high hopes for the sabres  in the offseason, and earlier, it looks like its over now. Miller is no longer a dominate goaltender, nobody is scoring, the D is not what it once was, ville lano is complete garbage.

i have given up on them this year, still a fan, just tired of watching the stale product they pt on the ice, especially when they go on TSN or VS.

If Pominville and Vanek werent ripping it up like they are, the Sabres would be even worse. This is simply a GM spending way too much money on unproven players. Leino had one sick playoff run with Philly, one of the best offensive teams in the league, and Ehrhoff had a lot of help from the best Powerplay in the league with Vancouver. Remember when Ehrhoff was a healthy scratch in SJ? Ehrhoff should be better though, im surprised hes doing so poorly. Miller is the biggest surprise though, seems he is always pissed off, looking for an excuse, im sure that Lucic hit didn't help much.

Im glad the Oilers are back down to reality, 4 or 5 years and they will be making the playoffs, they need D though, trade Hemsky for some Defence and they'll be in better shape

Jagr, Simmonds, Read and Giroux, these guys are killing it for Philly. Losing Richards, Carter and now Pronger seems to not have phased them especially with Giroux being the best player in the league.

Canucks only hope is if Boston is ousted early in the playoffs, I could see the Rangers or Philly beating them in a 7 game series. I always think back to the Tampa/Boston series, the Canucks would have beat Tampa, not nearly as physical a team as Boston.

Canucks cant beat Boston in a 7 game series. Sure we can take some games off them but more often then not, especially in the playoffs, the refs are going to put away their whistles, and we have to score on the PP against them. That game last weekend though was the best in a long time for sure.

Montreal is in absolute shambles, Gauthier is gone at the end of this season, they won't make the playoffs.

This trade deadline, as overhyped as they are, should be a pretty crazy one. Especially with Anaheim looking to pull the trigger on some of their young players like Bobby Ryan.

didnt we score like 8 goals in the 7 games in the finals? and luongo had two shutouts? he did blow in the other games but if you are scoring just over a goal a game then it doesnt matter too much what the goalie does. we need to stay healthy more than anything, deepest nhl team but if even a couple guys get injured we are fucked, have nobody on the farm.

We had the lowest goal totals of any playoff team in the history of a stanley cup final

Im more worried about our forwards.

And thats if we get through tough teams like Chicago, Detroit, St Louis and SJ

I think Detroit looks good....they'll add someone too....

The Canucks will be n the mix, but they can be a fragile bunch at times...I bet they hang onto Schneider this year for the playoffs, then get nothing for him when he bounces....

i thought subban played alright, especially in the third during the power play. carey price had an unusually bad night, and plekanec and co. are as useless as they've ever been. so much money wasted on so many shit players...

I'm stoked the Wings get to host next years winter classic. I'm torn on the location though. I live and work in the city of Detroit, so I think  it should be here. The city certainly needs the money, but I can see the appeal to doing it at michigan stadium and packing in over 112,000 people for a hockey game is going to be pretty fucking rad.

during the power play ?jesus man.... let's have a little habs power play history shall we ?

lets star the story with markov

this dude cost money. he was the quarterback during power play. he's efective but his knee is fucking jacke'd up.

seson 2009-2010
markov is hurt so they need a new "quarterback" in power play who do they use ?

this dude, Marc-Andr? Bergeron.  suck at defensive, cheap & skates like he got a broom stick up his ass.
but he got a fucking killer shot and knew how to use it. resulting in the habs having one the best power play of the league that year.

season 2010-2011
Bergeron is traded away because the habs are putting they're money on markov to be the blue line superstar.
maybe 5 game or so in the season markov shit his knee, again.
the habs are in a pickle but manage to get a hold of this guy. james wisniewski.

he's just an over priced version of bergeron.

season 2011-2012
james wisniewski is traded away to make room for Markov triumphant return. guess what ? he blew up his knee AGAIN! that dude is done for.

habs PP is down the fucking shitter. they are last of the league. who they decide to bring in ?

Yea finally, hes been out since november

Trade deadline approaching, or its actually not but the coverage already is sickening, and its still over 5 weeks away

Canucks need to trade Ballard, free up some cap and trade for a David Clarckson or Travis Moen type player. Always wanted Moen on our team he would be a beast Salo has begun skating on his own, 2 consecutive days, but you never know with him, could be out another month.

Canucks have played really flat since the Boston game, most inconsistent Ive seen them play since the playoffs. Really need to pick it up the top of the West is way too tight to be losing to shitty teams

That clip is inaccurate. If Stewie would have said Cornhuskers then they may have had something.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

i never really understood the hate.
I'm a bruins fan, so I don't have an allegiances to the Pens (aside from the one friend I have from pit thats a diehard fan)
but he always just struck me as one of those gifted players that everyone should admire for his talent, kinda like Malkin
it'll be a really sad story if he's forced into an early retirement.

how funny was the allstar draft last night? tough crowd.

Yeah I don't get it. A lot of people peg him as a primadonna, but it's whatever. Like I think Ovechkin's a mongoloid but I still think he's fun as hell to watch play hockey.

With the Trade Deadline on Monday, thought I'd give this a bump

Carter went to LA, Richards him and Gagne are now reunited, if they can mesh they'll be scary.

Columbus has been making some awful trades imo. Sounds like they'll get a solid return for Nash. Rangers? Kings? Sharks?

Vancouver is said to be targeting Steve Ott. I think he'd be a perfect fit, trade Raymond away for him straight up

Canucks just beat Detroit at home, thus ending the longest home winning streak in the history of the NHL

I think LA is still gonna suck....hiring Sutter was a mistake....Richards and Carter are the modern day version of Tkachuk and Roenick...

I think the Canucks will just add a couple spare parts....the way Hodgson is playing and adding Booth...they are way ahead of where they were last yr....i think we could use another defenceman because someone is gonna get hurt..

..Ott would be something....more reasons to love the Canucks....

I don't think Nash will be traded until the draft.....
