i had really high hopes for the sabres in the offseason, and earlier, it looks like its over now. Miller is no longer a dominate goaltender, nobody is scoring, the D is not what it once was, ville lano is complete garbage.
i have given up on them this year, still a fan, just tired of watching the stale product they pt on the ice, especially when they go on TSN or VS.
If Pominville and Vanek werent ripping it up like they are, the Sabres would be even worse. This is simply a GM spending way too much money on unproven players. Leino had one sick playoff run with Philly, one of the best offensive teams in the league, and Ehrhoff had a lot of help from the best Powerplay in the league with Vancouver. Remember when Ehrhoff was a healthy scratch in SJ? Ehrhoff should be better though, im surprised hes doing so poorly. Miller is the biggest surprise though, seems he is always pissed off, looking for an excuse, im sure that Lucic hit didn't help much.
Im glad the Oilers are back down to reality, 4 or 5 years and they will be making the playoffs, they need D though, trade Hemsky for some Defence and they'll be in better shape
Jagr, Simmonds, Read and Giroux, these guys are killing it for Philly. Losing Richards, Carter and now Pronger seems to not have phased them especially with Giroux being the best player in the league.
Canucks only hope is if Boston is ousted early in the playoffs, I could see the Rangers or Philly beating them in a 7 game series. I always think back to the Tampa/Boston series, the Canucks would have beat Tampa, not nearly as physical a team as Boston.
Canucks cant beat Boston in a 7 game series. Sure we can take some games off them but more often then not, especially in the playoffs, the refs are going to put away their whistles, and we have to score on the PP against them. That game last weekend though was the best in a long time for sure.
Montreal is in absolute shambles, Gauthier is gone at the end of this season, they won't make the playoffs.
This trade deadline, as overhyped as they are, should be a pretty crazy one. Especially with Anaheim looking to pull the trigger on some of their young players like Bobby Ryan.
