A terrible interview by an egomaniac asshole:
https://youtu.be/RIMfZQRdu_Q

I'd rather watch the && Nine Club on repeat forever than watch this. I cannot fucking stand Fat Mike.

Cue the Curb theme.

Wow I've never gone 100-to-0 on anyone like I have with Fat Mike after 10 minutes of this.
-
NOFX was one of the bands that got me into punk rock when I was 12 years old; bought punk in drublic and it didn’t leave my walkman for like two months straight. My 12 year old self was just stoked to have found out about punk and have a whole new thing to explore and get into. I still have a soft spot for all their music pre-pump up the valium (because nostalgia n stuff ya know?), but with that said, Fat Mike is one annoying ass dude.
I haven’t watched this yet, but I watched a chunk of his interview with Greg Hetson last week and it was pretty much just him interrupting Greg to talk about himself like every other sentence and him just kinda being an all around dick. Just when you think Greg could get through a story or a statement, Fat Mike would interrupt to talk about himself or make some stupid “look at me trying to be funny” comment. He even did this when Greg was trying to talk about his past issues with addiction.
If this interview is anything like that then I’m good on watching it.

nofx is not it

If you had to pick one band to listen to forever from Fat who would it be? I’d say Good Riddance.

A solid choice! I’ve seen them play many times. Great band and solid catalog through the years.

Jealous - Ive only seen them once and fuck it was a long time ago, being a hardcore kid they are definitely one of the goat punk bands - kinda got a soft spot for Snuff based on the song “nick northern” alone haha.
-
Propagandhi is such an excellent band, great choice. They’re one of the few Fat bands I haven’t seen live. Love how their sound developed over the years, too.

Descendents. Milo Goes To College on repeat. I know that one was from way before they were even on Fat, but it still counts.

I like NOFX but Fat Mike's edgy "funny guy" shtick sucks. It's especially a bummer cuz based on more sincere interviews, he seems smart enough to know better.
I almost felt bad for Danny in this. Almost.

Don't be ashamed man. I still throw on NOFX once in awhile and get some serious nostalgia. It brings me back to some good times in my teenage years.

I know this is probably a hot take, but old NOFX has aged very poorly, but new-er NOFX is tolerable-to-good. I still have Wolves in Wolves' Clothing going a few times a year. Some of the new-ish EPs have choice cuts as well. I say -er and -ish cause it's been maybe 2 years since I noticed anything new from them.

I feel like their records have almost always been consistently inconsistent. Meaning most of their releases have a handful of really good songs mixed with lazy/straight up bad ones. I personally rank Wolves pretty high, and I think the releases that followed (even including one that came out last year) have some cool moments. Even if those cool moments are wedged between Fat Mike's weird self-indulgences.

I loved listening to nofx... WHEN I WAS AN 8TH GRADER!!!
I have no idea how I listened to his singing so much back then.
-
i heard that he’s been filming a new part on a freshly renovated mega ramp never before seen. this time it has a 120 ft roll in that leads to a 20 ft pole jam into a bank leading to a 25 ft spine ramp!!! craziest part is it’s all made entirely out of bricks!!!

Swingin' Utters, no question. Still a great band.

check the reissue of TETA, sounds massive!

Fat Mike recently did a video about his top 30
releases over the years, most of these answers are mentioned. Rise Against’s Revolutions Per Minute has been getting a lot of love from me recently. It’s also kinda criminal that Satanic Surfers were never on fat…

Gotta be all-star cover band, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
By listen to forever I'm assuming you mean in hell, right?

against me! released SFAFC on fat, that record fucking slaps

lol, it's the easiest shit ever.
also my vote goes to Propagandhi.

If I had to pick a record released on Fat to listen to forever, that might just top the list.

Ooof, I could only make it a few minutes. I remember thinking Fat Mike was hilarious for making fun of emo bands at the Warped Tour back in the 90's, but I was also in middle school.
-
My pick would be Me First and the Gimme Gimmes or Hi Standard (I would also take just the Survival of the Fattest record)

I must be burnt. I like Fat Mike. He's just himself and although he's got that ego, he seems lowkey insecure and awkward and I act pretty similar.
Then again, I'm probably burnt.
And my favorite Fat band besides NOFX is probably Lagwagon.
-
I like fat mike too for the most part, though I don’t always agree with his taste in music, he did bring some great bands to the world though and he always did it DIY despite the fact that “tru punx” thought they were some sort of sell-out label.
You also have to realize his whole schtick is pushing buttons and offending people, which can get old if you’re in your 40s but it was funny when I was 16.
-
you dudes are taking that fat idiot way too seriously
i'll die on my nofx hill i don't give a fat shit
