Watched it last night. Really curious as how they are gonna do Dr. Manhattan.

Would watch instantly if it was on pornhub. Can't rationally spend more loot to get HBO for a few shows. Really want to see Righteous Gemstones too, so HBO may get my money once it starts snowing again. I still haven't watched the last game of thrones season either.

we've been justifying hbo because of righteous gemstones and then catching up on the other danny mc shows. now watchmen definitely making it feel worth it again. also i like this week tonight.

I was kind of pumped on it because I loved the comic and enjoyed the movie (opening credits were fucking amazing) but everything I read says it’s not the watchmen but sort of a tag on story which is kind of a fucking bummer.   The reviews also are kind of off putting. It sounds very heavy handed which is a shame cuz where the comic really excelled was all the moral greyness.

Is it on that west world level of quality? Cuz if it’s that good I don’t give a shit if it has nothing to do with the source material

It's really good...the production value is super high. The integration of history (Tulsa Race Massacre) having such a profound effect on the "current" state of things is interesting.

And it is a continuation of the Watchmen comic, not a sequel to the movie.

didn't realize the Tulsa Race Massacre was a real thing

makes the first episode that much heavier

I'm so stoked on that first episode. Glad they took a what if approach to the Watchmen universe. I remember how I felt when I saw Watchmen on the big screen ten years ago and that feeling came back more profound after I finished the first episode. Snyder's Watchmen wasn't perfect but it brought the story to life and was very enjoyable.

Very excited to see what unfolds.

I thought the first episode was really good. Regina King was great and I was surprised how much I liked Don Johnson. The production level is up there with Westworld and the Cavalry is so right on target, they could be chanting “Jews will not replace us” instead of “tick tock”. I have high hopes for this series and I also own 3 copies of issue #1 of the comic, which is nice.

I got very strong similarities in tone to "The Leftovers", which is good, because I really grew to enjoy how weird that show was.
