It'll be hilarious if PJ does this.

robbie's sick, but watching both of those dudes was boring as shit.  both skate very slow when skating flatground.

True. These were boring. No lift, no speed. At least we'll see Westgate at some point.

Yeah, I'd take a straight up speedy ass huge Ollie over the entirety of the berrics by Westage. Give him the money and shut this contest down for good.

If that ESPN Game of Skate has any predictive value, don't expect some earth shattering performance from Brandon Westgate. You would probably see more flip trick "pop" from Shane O'Neill because his technique is so much more on point. But since O'Neill is not a participant this year, my eye is on Diego Najera.

That kid is good but it was a treat to watch brockel. His kickflip is a thing of beauty

This. I've never caught myself thinking that I'd want to watch Brockel skate flat the way I still go and watch Carrolls games of skate, but dude has POWER.

??? ??? ???

To each his own, I guess.

IMO, most of the tricks he did were slow and sloppy as shit, which isn't a bad thing because I wasn't expecting him to be some flat ground technician.

Yeahh nobody has touched luan in terms of speed in any of these, busenitz included.
That being said, peacock and westgate are my favorite. But something tells me worrest, de keyzer, diego all are worthy candidates. Im not making guesses til i see all of them play their first games but worrest seems like he has the morgan smith type potential to win by consistently rifling off all the basics without getting too froggy

I think luan would be better example that shane oneill himself would agree with

I'm really hoping someone who isn't heavily affiliated with the berrics wins this. Ideally it'll be worrest but westgate would be great as well.

If not I'll just assume this is rigged.

they should've invited a bunch of guys who are notorious for not doing flip tricks

That would be halrious.. Invite like the guys who only skate bowls and trannies.

Neither will win unfortunately.

I just hope all worrest and westgates games start out with basics so we can be astounded.

Why not? They both have unique ways of doing some basic tricks.

Its not like you can pop a nollie flip 2 1/2 feet high

I like seeing that shit

It should be no surprise that games of SKATE favor technical skateboarders: the type of guys who incorporate a lot of flip tricks into ledge tricks and manuals. There are a few surprises here and there but it's technical skater's game to win.

Here's Westgate vs. Zigram
xgames.espn.go.com/xgames/video/11295554/game-skate-quarterfinal-match-1

Wow.  Couldn't even make it all the way through this, the format, the narration, the ref jersey, everything (but Shane and Brandon), yuck!

Enjoying BATB9, looking forward to future matches!

Supposedly everyone was tired of seeing the really good "Berrics kids" who are supposedly boring "robots." Be careful what you wish for

BATB or SKATE in general is a fun concept, but to make it tolerable to an audience bigger than just you and your homies, you need the best. However, there's always room for surprises so I'm going to keep my eye on Diego Najera and Bobby DeKeyzer
