If you skated them you know they are one of the hardest things to do tricks over.
So many difficult tricks went downs over them over the years. Keenan's SW Flip being #1. Also was shocked by Brian Hoard's nollie inward heelflip. What's your favorite?
-
the first one to come to mind is probably Rodrigo TX's line in Menikmati where he switch flips over one and then switch bs 180s over another one.
-
I'm going to go with Keenan.
-
I think andre genovesi nollie heel'd one....
-
guess i gotta throw out clydes heelflip and front heel, stevie does a switch heel in dc video right?
oh and carrolls frontside flip in choolate tour was ridicilous
-
Brian Hoard did switch front heel too I think. His shit was the best.
Am I crazy or do I remember AVE doing a mad powerful nollie flip over one?
-
Herman's switch front heel in the new Baker video was good.
-
some old clip had reynolds cab over a picnic table in a line and i just cant understand that one. are these picnic tables we see out in cali super low or something? keenans switch flip was crazy.
-
Does anyone else remember AVE doing a bs bigflip over a table, or is that just me?
edit: nope, just watched his part again, he did it off a bump... he did a good frontside nollie over a table in a line, though.
-
sheffeys fakie ollie and half cab come to mind, and hensleys tricks, you know the ones
jeremy wray also... in xyz, he does a tre flip and a fakie heelflip straight over a table...yes it is one of those little tykes orange tables, but still, a fakie heelflip straight over something is good no matter what its over
he also threw a heelflip over a normal sized (la of course) table in a line, and did a cab BOTH ways in revolution. how you do a cab blindside over anything with no pivoting on flat is completely foreign to me.
can this just be the tricks on/over tables on flat? i want to mention armandos cool ass tricks on tables, and kareems tre flip smith/5-0
-
the first one to come to mind is probably Rodrigo TX's line in Menikmati where he switch flips over one and then switch bs 180s over another one.
Yeah that was the first one I thought of too, pretty sick how he just coasted to the second table.
-
i'm pretty sure most tricks over picnic tables are done over the little kids ones.
-
The standard little kids one's are in LA County (Lockwood) and are smaller than your average table, but I guess you have to skate one to appreciate how hard they are to do shit over. I forgot to mention Reese Forbes backside flip and Mike Daher KF. Also Chris Franzen's Sw front shuv is raw.

Clyde...

In '89 or '90 Hensley had a Trick Tip of a "fakie one-footed 360 ollie" over one but I think it was really just a cab.
Good topic though.
Brian Hoard did nollie flip and nollie inward (see Deca "Sneak Preview"). Anyone do a fakie flip over one?

He had a bump on the nollie flip. Herman's switch front heel and marnell's switch backside flip.
-
when i read the topic keenans switch flip came to mind, i remember him looking mad casual doing it.
supa had a nike ad years back doing a switch pop shuvit over one.
that shit was pretty beast but you gotta be beast to get anything over one of those picnic tables, even the tot size ones.

but he didn't use a bump on the nollie inward heel, which is sicker. its in 2nd to none though.
-
i forget his name, but he ollied over one in chomp on this. the guy that films (filmed) for zero maybe?
-
now that someone mentions supa i think he did a nollie frontside bigspin over one....thats pretty wild........i think its in the transworld with AVE doing a crooked on the cover
-
and dont forget pat rakestraws ollie over 2 tables
-
and dont forget pat rakestraws ollie over 2 tables
Kenny Anderson as well.
-
Herman's switch front heel in the new Baker video was good.
yeah it was. really good!
-
obviously keenan's sw flip comes to mind. pj had a really nice bs flip in his welcome to dc part or whatever it was.
-
Casey Rigney - Nollie fs 360
-
cliffs frontside flip was tight, that would be hard
i'm almost positive someone has done a sw 360 over one
-
Tony Montgomery nollie 360 shove was pretty sweet.
-
i'm pretty sure most tricks over picnic tables are done over the little kids ones.
only adult sized one that comes to mind is the one everyone skates out of that massive bump, that carrol nollie heel'd and bonked off of
-
Did Don Nguyen fakie fs heel over one, or was it over a couch? either way it was really sick, that trick is hard to pop and not done very often.
-
windsor james' switch frontside flip was good
-

and maybe the one that the flip guys skate in sorry, really sorry.
appleyard does nollie frontside flip switch manual, etc.
-
rewatched it and it's a fs heel over a table and fakie fs heel a couch. i like it when gnar bars bring skill to the schoolyards.

-
stevies switch pop shuv revert with no pivot is the best.
-
Not a huge fan of this cat, but honorable mention for the difficulty: 1:50 and 2:00

The LA tables are pretty low, like barely over my kneecap, I'm about 6' tall, so think about it like that. They are pretty wide though, probably at least about 5' wide. They are pretty easy to grind on, but I wouldn't even consider ollieing over one on flat.

Good description. Easy to grind but hard as hell to go over.
-
I'm going to have to disagree on them being "easy" to grind. I actually can do tricks over them, and I still don't consider it "easy". They are much higher than the average ledges that people skate. If you can nollie heel nose on a regular sized ledge, don't think you can do it on a table.
-
^ Easier to grind. Hard to flip into any grind in my opinion.
-
What is a "regular sized ledge?"
-
What is a "regular sized ledge?"
from like 12-16 inches. Tables are literally like 2 feet high.
-
I'm convinced there's no flip trick I could do over one.
-
speaking of tricks that are hard to pop high, fakie heels... i remember some old logic, maybe digital, video where some asian? dude fakie heels over this bench, straight gnar. i would like to see that over a picnic table (if its not abd)

i heard jess mcraney fakie flipped one but i've never seen footage. i've heard a few pretty crazy rumors about tricks he's done with no camera around
-

Chris Franzen had some ad doing a sw 360 flip over one too
-
windsor james in its time
switch frontside heel
-
Dill's cab was pretty sick.
-
Dill's cab was pretty sick.
wray's were sweet.
-
I've never seen a picnic table like the ones in any video in person, I can't imagine how big they are. The normal wooden ones in jersey don't seem as small, and if they're the same size I have a new found respect for that shit
-
Hensleys cab and ollie to nose manny over a table.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1DXXtIwsh20&hl=en&fs=1"></param
-
Rodrigo's nollie 360 was dope.
-
graham bickerstaff nollie inward heels one in this clip, it's soo good, too.
check it!

keenan's sw flip, tony silva has a nice sw heel in his 411vm part over one, the nuge's front heel or flip thats in a pig ad and in his foundation CA part. a few others, they're my favs, though.
-
its at 1:27. i'm surprised this dude hasn't got more coverage cause he does a heap of legit shit.
-
Hawk ate shit trying to do it once. I think it was just an ollie, but I may be mistaken.
-
dills nollie inward heel. from what i can tell its not off a bump but the ground may be at an incline. even if the grounds at an incline its still sick
-
I'm going to go with Keenan.
true
me to.
-

Hmm, those look on par with todays newer school yard tables.
-
ill always remember the one svitak ollies over mid line in label kills..
not a wussy little kids one either
a legit one
-
PJ does a nice one at 1:00(i know reese forbes already did one but whatever)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEy3KTIzu6o
-
fuuuuck, forgot about this
sw heel at :26ish (waaay to easily) and sw back heel at 2:14
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzqYPuw3pJM
-
Reynold's full cab with no pivot in Deathwish was sick. It was in a line, too.
-
Mike Mo's switch heel when he was a baby.
-
Lewis Marnell did a switch bs flip. Did anyone mention that?
-
brian hoard - ss fs heelflip, nollie heel, nollie flip (the nollie tricks were off a half-ass bump...might as well have been flat)
carrol - fs flip
jeremy wray - straight fakie ollie
-
K. Milt switch flip, carroll fs flip in chocolate tour...
-
gino perez did a nollie pop shuv over one in a line in an old 411.... not as hard as most of the tricks already mentioned, but i remember it being quite stylish
-
^that trick would be hard as hell to pop that high
-
didn't ryan gallant do a nollie varial flip for a plan b ad?
-
ya i am pretty sure he did
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPPUIoke7Pk
-
does anyone else remember jeremy wray's fakie tre over a wooden picnic table in a late 90's interview, maybe big brother or transworld ?
the interview also head a spread of him doing the oil tank-oil tank flat gap ollie and a lipslide on some rail between 2 rooftops
-
bryan herman's sw front heel over a picnic table in a line in the deathwish promo was bonkers.
-
I think lewis marnell's sw bs flip is the sickest trick ever done over a picknick table. That trick is so hard to get in the air.
-
I don't know if this is ABP but,
Kareem Campbell ollied a table legnthwise
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id8un-IByLc
can't tell if its flat though.
-
it's at a slight angle. if you get the video paused at the right time, you can see it. i don't feel like taking a screen shot.
-
already mentioned. . . but keenans switch flip, reynolds cab
nuges stuff over the couch in cataclysmic abyss(not a bench, but similar in length, and probably a bit higher), the slo-mo'd switch heel stevie williams does in the dc video comes to mind too
-
Jt Aultz sw ollie over then to sw nose manual
i thought that was swell
-
fs heel the nuge
-
stevies switch pop shuv revert with no pivot is the best.
this is also in reference to dill's nollie inward heel: both tricks are obviously sick, but it's off a small bump. not that it takes away anything from the tricks, it's a very small incline.
someone also said that ave bigflipped a table; he did, but that was off a bump.
andre genovesi's done plenty of craziness . . but none compare to keenan. the way his front foot kicks out and the board is caught is indescribable.
-
Lewis Marnell nollie inward heels over a little table in the new Skateboarder
-
in that kareem campbell vid posted he fs 360's over a picnic table as his firsat trick, and if u pause that length ways ollie, hes a good 4 foot above the table, haha so im assuming its off some sort of bump
-
I don't know if this is ABP but,
Kareem Campbell ollied a table legnthwise
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id8un-IByLc
can't tell if its flat though.
Does he really 360 flip 5-0 a picnic table?
Jeepers
-
lewis marnell did a sw backside flip once in a almost ad
-
keenan milton's switch flip in goldfish
-
patrick melcher, sliding across it on his ass while the board goes under it.
-
Tony Montgomery's Nollie 360 shuv is probably my favorite
Alex Carolino's nollie bs bigspin is a close second
-
Heath?
-
Furby's switch heel in the beginning of that part where he fakie flips wilshire was so nice.
-
Stevie switch flip/heel? in the DC video....
-
Kalis' switch tre, no bump.
-
hmm picnic tables seem to be shrinking
-
i like when people do tricks over those tables that the top is so close to the seat no one other than a new born could sit there ::)
-
furby switch heel
-
Kalis' switch tre, no bump.
what?! that sounds too good to be true. when was this and where's the footy?
-
im gonna go with keenans switch flip. the pop, the catch, the landing.. just so much style
-

-
the guy who owns a local shop did a nice half cab heel over one at 3:22 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctKq44aBXbE
-
bryan herman nollie inward heel altamont ad end of story
-
bryan herman nollie inward heel altamont ad end of story
Brian Hoard did it 7 years ago.... He also does nollie heel, which it way gnarlier.
http://yousk8.net/v/1749_brian_hoard_-_deca_(2nd_to_none)_video_part.html
I believe it was in 411 also.
-
Reynolds full cab and leis marnell switch backside flip
-
damn you honeybear I was gonna say the switch backside flip, almost needs to drop a new vid
-
pretty much every time reynolds skates one
his cab in deathwish was so high and clean he makes big things look so small
-
Louie Barletta full cabbed one like 10 years ago
