Rodney Mullens done some crazy manuals. I recall him doing a handstand flip nose manual.
[close]

I’m surprised I had to go as far as page 3 to see someone mention Rodney Mullen. He did the craziest manual combos in his prime. One of my all time favorite clips is his impossible nose manual to nollie impossible out. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else do that since. Not even Daewon.

Also, Marc Johnson’s manual tricks are a thing of beauty.

Yeah Rodney has done some truly mind-boggling shit.
Always loved MJ’s mannual tre flip mannual (across a gap) and tre flip mannual tre flip at Pier 7.

The clip of Robbie Holmes switch hardflip nosemanual at pier 7 with the guy in the background is burned into my brain. I think it was in the Kayo Corp promo and recycled in some other video but it doesn't appear to be online.

That and John Igei's already mentioned tre nose manual nollie tre out skating to Jeru tha Damaja.

James Bush ankle breaking fs 180 fakie manual 180 out at 2:43

Marcello Campanello cab fakie manual at 3:39

Roman Lisivka nollie 360 flip nose manual nollie 360 flip at 0:43 (lots of good ones in that part)

Brian Peacock switch 360 flip manual switch 360 flip at 5:36 (this one is NBD I think. Also lots of good ones in that part)

It’s at the 3:13 mark. He did it to switch manual too.

I don’t think Robbie gets enough credit (or any credit) for his skating at the pier. He did some crazy shit there. For tricks over the manual pads he is probably second after Marcus McBride. Most of Robbie’s tricks were down the one with the drop on the other side too.

if daewon + ronnie creager went to pier 7 for like a weekend in the late 90s, they probably could have banged out an insane amount of NBDs there years before anyone else did them.  Cant recall seeing either of those guys skate there (or travelling much in general)

Creager did a fakieflip fakie manny (high to low) there.

not sure if it's been mentioned in the full thread (I'm sure it has), but the power AVE does the switch manny switch 3 flip at LOVE in the DC video is always a favorite for me.

The 80 on the blocks gap to switch Manny few seconds after is my kinda skating.
Nah pop no style...

I change all my votes to Frank Gerwer hill bomb the Aves hillbomb Manny then switch hillbomb to shitty pants thinking you're about to catch a potential man 2 beef.

If I could pick one historical piece of skate gear Id maybe want those pink Lance Mountain Spit wheels.
That's probably the coolest clip in the history of speed.

That piece or I'd want a Signal Hill Cart Bloard thing.
That's like the only thing on earth that can touch the glory of a skate.

Id put those Mountain wheels on display next to my Slasher and my Hasoi truck.

Shit. There it is. I think I was thinking of John Igei kickflip nosemanual nollie hardflip and then there's a guy in the background with one hand up in the air. It got clipped from the Static II part but if I'm thinking correctly (which I'm probably not since I got this fucked up already) is that it was in the Gold Wheels section of the Kayo Promo. Juelz Santana "Baby, Baby" is the song.

https://youtu.be/vWqaDecXGew?si=0SkMR7LUde2giUnb&t=27 at 0:27

Also, yeah. I thought Robbie Holmes was going to be bigger. Tech + Ipath. I really disliked the editing in It's Official with the songs cutting short, the stupid vector graphics, and not much of a cohesive feel. I kind of felt let down because I loved those brands at the time.

[close]

Daewons whole part. he literally got SOTY for it. Shit was fucking bananas.
[close]

Round 3 came out in 04. Skate More came out in 05. Daewon won in 06

Phelps was also a “services rendered” type of awarder, so they both probably factored in

MJ in Tilt Mode with the switch nose manual fakie bigspin flip to manual in a line. Just the fact it was Daewon level madness done casually in a homie video adds to just how goddamn magical it is.

I love that trick so a gnar for you but are you sure there’s a flip in the bigspin?

Another mj favourite is the half cab manual bigflip out at pier 7, in the chocolate tour I think?

One where your on two wheels and your tail never hits the ground. Also See Daewon. Like the one he does where his wheel flys off and he puts another one on. Or like a thousand other ones. Daewon is the answer.
