I couldn't imagine flying to a place without knowing anyone there and going skating (I guess maybe SF would be an exception)

Go skate the pier and EMB. You'll have fun there and meet skaters to session with. Manny pads everywhere.

Exactly, went there with my roomates some years ago (2 of em skated n never did the whole week there because of girlfriends wantin to go shoppin) ended up riding solo the whole week an had the time of my life.

There's lots of spots to scope out/skate when you're goin down hills throughout the city. Found a few friendly crews to skate with at some places and even got fucked over on a reefer purchase from a homeless dude too but that's a whole nother story altogether...

stop at the DLX store
Skate black marble
SOMA is cool too if it's not packed
go to potrero for the experience
go to 3rd and army if you're up journey

the spots for the most part are the hills. Have fun.
