Frob and Limbo will combine forces and become the next FA (fucking awful) and dominate the industry for the next few years.

Scum Co. & Sons releases another video and blows minds.

i don't think i've ever had a board with wheel wells, but I'm with you. is there a reason wells aren't standard? does it weaken the nose/tail at all?

I don't really like them as I always get weird chips and cracks at the wheel wells and I'm not having big wheelbite issues anyways.

I set up a deck with wheel wells for the first time last year and love them so much that I'm gonna DIY them on every deck for now one that doesn't have them. Loose trucks and wheel wells rule.

I did not like my wheel wells because I prefer a solid wheelbite when locking crooks. Otherwise I feel like I'm floating on the grind and do not get a good bounce/pop out. I just wax the shit out of my wheelbite marks if it's preventing me from rolling away and it works. 54mm with loose aces and I'm pretty heavy. Works well.

With my medium-loose Thunders 149s and 54mm conicals, I'm well acquainted with the taste lol. I usually have to wax my wheel wells every 20 minutes during a session. I've tried switching to harder bushings but it didn't make a difference.

Question for you Ace riders, would you recommend the Ace Classics for AF1s when switching from Thunders?

I have both the classic and af1 ace. I’m somehow managing not using risers on 60mm

Don’t rule out an Ace Lo…..TBH, Ace is kinda the complete opposite of a thunder…..I’d still say try it though… you will no longer wheelbite…..

Id say classics don't snap back to center as well as af1s. I would suggest AF1s and keep a set of hard bushings on hand if they are still too loose and you don't want to crank them down further.

AF1's I believe also have a slightly wider wheelbase than classics. Still smaller wb than thunders but would be a slightly less jarring change.

Appreciate the feedback. I plan on picking them up soon, so I'll circle back and let you know how it works out. I've been riding Thunders for years and I'm excited to try something new

Aside from a few brief trysts w/ Indy during those dark times when Thunder wasn’t producing trucks of a certain width, I have been on Thunders since around 1986.
Great truck: I love them.
Looove them.
What I eventually grew to NOT love, however, was their propensity to wheelbite.
Tried Aces (both Classics AND the As Fuck-1s) and haven’t even bothered sending a “I miss you & hope you’re doing well” card, let alone even looking back since I switched.
Definitely took some adjusting to get used to the slight difference in pop timing that the (comparatively) inset wheelbase comes with, but once that hurdle was cleared, it’s been a real nice, mostly wheelbite free existence.
I think you’ll come to love the deep turn you can get without getting tossed from sloppy exits at lower speeds.
I still long for that Thunder pop, but it’s a trade-of I’m willing work with. And if you’re not hitting your tail all that much these days, you won’t miss a damn thing.
Thunder has the superior pinch as well, IMO, but again… a bargain I am happy to make in exchange for the deep turn & mega reduction in wheelbite.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

That 'if' is not even up for debate after classifying vegans as annoying. That is a lazy way of discussing. Same applies to pivoted back 180s. No disrespect tho, you do you, all love.

The mountains in Co are getting a good dump this week/end and im so excited to snowboard. I went new years day and there was exposed grass on the runs.
