Scram dropping new boards soon

Lots of fucked up shapes though...was just hoping for a normalish 9" deck
You made my day! I’m almost out of the Cinex shape(JL pools). Bought about 14 of them once I found out they stopped that shape and I’m down to 3. Just a heads up it’s listed as an 8.8 but in actuality it’s a 9. Try it, not a crazy shape and fully functional for tech shit if that’s your thing.

yes! that one's looking good. i know it's diffrent but it gives me Gravedigger vibes.
also liking that Tripples, looks like a horrible shape function wise. but it just looks cool.

sadly i'll probably never get Scram since i can't ever find them over here.

I want to like Scram (boards wise, team wise – they kick ass) but some of their shapes are just too out there for me.
Samesies. I like what they’re about, and I’m glad they’re out there doing it, but nah. Too much, too much.

Has anyone skated that Uma FARK shape that the Roman is in? 8.9"? trying to discern a measurement over trucks. Thanks.

I had a look at a few pics and did the copy / paste comparison from widest point to the bolts (can send you a pic if needed) but I think it is maybe 8.75 or more at the front bolts and about 8.5 or a bit more at the back trucks.

Compared to some other boards, it didn't look like it tapers in much at all so you probably could still run Ace classics on it easily enough.

I put up the board pic in the Woodshop thread anyway, as it is a good example of BBS hologram sticker and alt warning sticker too.

I swapped the bushings for dlx supercush 94a.
Honestly they feel great, good turn, little more stable than Indy’s but feel similar. The grind is awesome, I’m not super picky about trucks like some pals, I’m always curious to see how things skate.

Pretty wild axle slippage on both of my 159s. Anybody ever run 149s on a Dane 1 or similar? Seen it in the wild and and I'm gonna do it either way, but I'm curious to know if anyone here as does it before.

Anyone ever use 8.75" trucks on the Krooked sweatpants shape? I have a set of Venture 6.1s that I want to use but I'm not sure if they'd wheelbite a lot with that shape.

Damn! 159s have been my favorite larger truck (I also like 139s, the rest of indy…no). My USA made stage 11s didn’t slip, despite me setting them up on 8.25s and missing every 3flip I tried.
None of the above is even remotely relevant.
On shaped boards, I like to match the truck size to the deck width, in the rear of the board. I can’t remember what the Dane1 is back there (8.75 probably). 149s (5.8s) with extra washers would probably be my preference. Front will be real tucked, but extra leverage for the turning.
What was the average truck size in the 80s? I was young and didn’t know. I’m talking like bones brigade era boom.

I used 159s with 56mm and a riser. Worked great. Sometimes wider trucks means more wheelbite.

Ive been wanting a dane1 but don't have any trucks bigger than 149 didn't think they would work

I have 149's sitting in front of me
have some f4 Radials and plenty of washers maybe this could work

@ok interested to know how u like it with 149s

Edit. my bad it was @Macho Taildrop who said that

Somewhere between a 159 and 169 depending on what you rode. Six Tracks were 8.9", Gullwing Pro IIIs 8.8". I had 159s because I skated mostly street but I didn't pick that size out for myself. The more knowledgeable homie made that call.

It's funny that axle slippage is coming up on 159s. I bought a couple of pairs of 159 Hollows during some crazy skatewarehouse sale and I got two trucks where the axle is clearly longer on one side than the other. This was peak Covid era and China made so who knows if they were able to keep up the same quality standards during that time. They ride fine but I'm always on the look out for more severe slippage.

First real setup had tracker ultralights, my parents bought me a used complete that was basically mint, had everything. Hawk. Copers, lapper, tail rails even.
Later one of the neighbors informed me that the ultralights were wack and that I should trade them to him for his Indy’s. My mom was bummed. I rode the same Indy’s for a few years until I quit. Wish I still had them. The kingpins were…barbaric.
Anyways, it’s interesting seeing some guys from that era, I THINK (could very well be wrong), that cab, Tony, Lance, Hosoi, all ride 149s.
For whatever that is worth.

When those guys came out on the '89 World Tour, they were all riding big 10" wide boards with wide trucks, to the tune of 169 type of size.

As they changed through the different eras, their boards also got a whole lot thinner overall, but did widen back out to present day pro models from them, so now something like the more recent Lance and Cab shaped boards work best on 149s anyway, the most recent Lance board is almost 9" at the widest point but has a lot of taper, down to 8.25 at the back truck area, which put off the guy who bought it, which is why I now have it.

One clip / pic of Hosoi I could see had the six hole plates on his board, so I am guessing 159s more so than anything else, but could be bigger.  Actually his last Insagram pic has them too.
