One trick wonders?
« on: May 03, 2024, 01:55:16 AM »
Are there any people in skateboarding who's career was a one trick wonder? McGill maybe? But I guess he was on Powell already before he came up with the McTwist. Could any of those big/high ollie champs be called a one trick wonder? Any people who became known only because of a single trick they landed once only to be never heard from again?

Even though his parts were objectively good, I’m going to have to say Dave Bachinsky.

Unfortunately, yes.

Kickflipping el toro is a pretty good example of jumping the shark.

But he is talented skater.

*yes yes, i meant el toro.  I am dum.

Josh Kasper was primarily known for big ollies down shit and admittedly had a limited trick bag.

Stu Kirst is gnarly as fuck but 90% of his footage is ollies, 5050s, and lipslides.

Scott Oster backside slash? Stylish as fuck but the only trick I have ever seen documented on him.

This was probably on a more local level but I remember Tommy Wisdom doing sw heel bs 5050 on hubba hideout and I thought he was going to blow up big time. I don’t know if I saw much else from him after this.
